Are there community representatives to ZoS?

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any community managers or representatives to ZoS? Every MMO i've played before had some sort of community management team.

Basically its a group of people that represent the community as a whole and can better communicate with the playerbase on a real time level. These people don't have any actual "power" so to speak, but they do have a direct line of communication with the developer.

A community that protects itself will last forever, if we don't have this now I would really suggest implementing it, as bug reports and forum posts aren't the only way for the developer to get information as to the health of its community in general.

Just my .02 my flame suit is freshly pressed.

There are regular posts on the website from the developers, and there are official ZOS accounts here (usually, the names appear in green) for any announcements or question answering. So while I'm not sure these people have the "CM" nametag, they essentially fulfill the same purpose.

That said, community managers mainly seem to exist for players to have a place to throw all their abuse. It's a fairly thankless, pointless job, and the developers don't need to include it at all. We hear about upcoming features when they tell us.

They have ZOS_ in the 1st part of their user name and their name is in green as well. Jessica is one of them. They have several who post here all the time.

Alas this is missing the point.

Its not about letting the playerbase know about the game, its about letting the game know about the playerbase.

Yes its a thankless job, but no its not pointless. There are over 5,000 topics on this forum, countless youtube videos and blogs about this game, do you think the devs read them all?

The point is the community having people there with a direct line with the devs and the devs having a constant source of input from a singular group of people and not 92304893048920748753894 private messages and emails etc.

@K9mouse I believe these are ZoS employees though, the actual developers.

Yeah, there's an in-game /feedback feature for that. That's why there's no feedback forum.

And I'm sure there are people at ZO whose sole job is to wade through the nightmare that is the "nerf rouges" and "me want arenas" mess that has to be that inbox.

    Several:

And there are several more 'moderators' in the traditional forum sense.

    @yodased‌

Yes, they do work for ZOS, but they are here to talk with the fan base and report back feedback to ZOS. From understanding, they do not "make" the game as a Dev does, but serve as a link between the players and the Devs.

Devs do read out posts, but they can not post on the forums. Only certain people are allow to do that. Another reason why how have a "go between" the players and Devs.

ZOS does not want someone say something that they should not and the the Devs are to busy fixing bugs to do so, but they do read the posts on many different fan forum sites.

I have seen the same ZOS staff on the Bethesda forums before to help with the link.
