I can clarify this... no one, as far as I can tell, is “raging” about this. Or even bent. Do I think it’s irritating? Yes. I’m sure nothing makes the bunny hoppers more happy than to hear that. It doesn’t seem to impact me killing them so that’s fine. It just strikes me as particularly unrealistic even in a game of (non sexual) fantasy.
Good, if this is true. It was absolutely ridiculous looking. Always loved killing a jumper. I'm not a t-bagger, but if I kill you and you jump all the time, I will stand over your body and jump until you release.
I'm sure it's just as annoying as it was for me fighting you..
Jumping in combat gives combat advantage - its more difficult to target bunny hoppers especially when close to them. As such jumping when in combat should have a stamina cost.

Your dog can talk? This is amazing! Why is the thread not about this dog?
I've noticed players not jumping as high either, so the excuse "It makes us harder to hit" is out the window too...not that it was actually true. Never had issues targeting a jumping player.

Yet you want a stamina cost to jumping. Being "irritated" to that point qualifies for being bent out of shape. Otherwise why bother asking for a harmless movement to have a cost? Because you personally find it "non-realistic"? If that's the case, how about penalties for other things some people find unrealistic? I have a list of immersion-breaking things we could add to the list...
As for another example of being bent out shape, this very thread has the following comment:Good, if this is true. It was absolutely ridiculous looking. Always loved killing a jumper. Plus outside of this thread are many other examples of people being mad or disgusted, often because of people being lured into ambushes by hoppers. Then there are threads like these:
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/440491/bunny-hopping-bannable/p1
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/453517/bunny-hopping
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/433322/jumping-should-cost-stamina
That's just a sample. Plus loads of comments in other threads that combine "hopping" and "Sorc" with suspicions that people must be cheating or exploiting. Yet, there is no exploit. People sometimes get killed by hoppers, and hopping becomes associated with their frustration.
But at the end of the day, hopping itself is just a movement. You don't have to like it. Yet it gets lots of really people worked up, like they are being taunted and can't let it go. It gets more threads and comments than tea-bagging, which is clearly intended to be disrespectful.
It's similar to those who write all of the horrible things they want to happen to those who leave an item or two in a treasure chest. The response is way out of proportion to the supposed offense.
Ummm, so you’re bent then? Is bunny hopping really that important to your game? Just wow, see you in Cyro I hope!
tinythinker wrote: »Nope. Just curious why so many people seem to hate or be really annoyed by it. I get why some think it looks stupid, but not why there are so many threads and comments trashing it. I don't care one way or the other about hopping when I see other players doing it in-game. If they beat me while they are hopping or I take them out while they are hopping, what different does it make? The only time I make anything significant out of it is if they are out of caster range and hopping, as that probably means they are trying to bait players into chasing them into an ambush.

Ok fair enough... I’ve seen the hopping as bait thing often enough and that doesn’t bother me. But the hopping in battle, I don’t know if it’s an exploit/advantage or not, but I think people that do it think it is ... or they wouldn’t. That’s what irritates. If it’s not an exploit or advantage, then there’s no harm to a cooldown or stam cost. And there’s zero chance ZOS will do anything anyway...
