You can have numerous undead minions active at a time. You have a skeleton mage, an undead healer, and a blastbones skeleton. I don't understand the issue.

This is The Elder Scrolls. In their ground state a Necromancer's undead minions exist only in the Soul Cairn.

As an ESO Necromancer you do have numerous undead minions at your command. An entire Legion of them. Can you not feel them at your back? Can you not see them in your mind's eye?

When you cast a Necromancy spell you call forth some of these minions from the Soul Cairn to carry out your will upon Nirn. When the spell is over the minions return the Soul Cairn. Sometimes the minions leave transliminal echoes of themselves behind on Nirn in the form of "corpses".

That is how Necromancers make inter-evocative hermetic harmonic resonance work for them in the hyperagonal world of TES, or at least it could be with a bit of imagination.

Are you sure? In Skyrim there are necromancers leading around multiple minions.

Why do people insist that just because other games did Necromancers a certain way, that ESO has to follow in those footsteps? Come on people, those franchises are completely different. If you want the Necromancers from those other games, go play those other games. But stop acting like ESO has to conform to your preconceived notions of what a Necromancer has to be.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:

Conan Exiles has unlimited amount of Thralls that you can enslave - but the servers max at 40 players.

Computing capacity is not infinite. If you get pets you have to take something away. Maybe some game could give unlimited pets but you'd have to play in 8 bit graphics, lol.

The way I see it... raising a undead "quick and dirty" comes with a price - of limited duration. That's the combat skill. And its the same for NPC necromancers who raise something to throw at you in combat, it does not stick around past their demise.

There obviously is some way to raise a undead on a more permanent basis, likely requiring a ritual and stuff... but that is all NPC domain at this point.

Although, if you were to play a necro, and have some friends... ask them to make alts named "skeletal minion" or something along those lines, put on undead polymorphs and play as your skeleton army? It'd be worth a giggle or two, yes? :p;)
Of course, then it could happen that your "skeletal minions" go like...

Well obviously, Werewolf is a very expensive ultimate and the skills are not available unless you spend over 300 ultimate first. And then if you don't actively keep the ultimate up (with devour) you go back to normal very quickly. Do you only want access to Necro skills only for a short time and only after spending 300+ ultimate?

I mean you can summon only 1 skeleton in like every god dam elder scroll games, 2 in skyrim but I keep reading complaint that ESO Necro should command a full size army of undead. Why ?

And even in the MMO's industri I can only think of 1 necromancers that had more then 1 permanent pet and its in DAoC.

I can understand that some player wished it would be a multi skeleton class but reading the complaint it feel like if ZOS went agaisnt all odds for some reasons.

I don't think it's that you can't have a huge army, but rather that they're such short lived little things. From what I've seen it feels more like planting a temporary turret than summoning a minion.

This is the ESO Necromancer, not Diablo Necromancer.

This is the ESO Templar, not WoW Paladin/Priest.

This is the ESO Warden, not WoW/Diablo Druid.

    Etc.

I hope the Necromancer is the last Class.

We need more Skill Lines (Weapons, Guilds etc). And I'm not talking about one Skill Line per update. I'm talking about several at once!

I want Arcane Archer with elemental bow attacks, spear, physical melee staff, some kind of focus or orb that gives you a pure casting look.

Probably from having it in another game or just imagining it to be powerful. I have never played a necromancer before so without preconceived notions I think the new class is fine.

Guild Wars 1 and 2 allow multiple minions. In GW2 I believe the maximum is 6, because of the way the skills work in that game, but they will stay with you until defeated or unsummoned. In GW1 the maximum was 14, but they'd lose health constantly and the more you had the harder it became to keep them alive.

Man, I loved playing a necromancer in GW1. Probably the most fun I've had with class mechanics in an MMO.

Because its a necromancer. Necromancers traditionally summon the undead to fight for them, generally more than one.

For game balance I imagine they have had to keep the summoning limited or it could be OP.

Not only that but how can you be a powerful necromancer AT ALL if you can't summon many undead at once? you can't thats what. we don't need to be Mannimarco level to summon more than 3 skeletons at once.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Source? Cause we rarely see anyone summon more than a single skeleton at a time other than near god like necromancers like Manimarco.

The Elder Scrolls games, which you clearly haven't played.

In Skyrim for example, Malkoran had a dungeon full of minions. Same with Lu'ah Al-Skaven. There was also that necrophilic elf near dawnstar that had killed a lot of women a raised their ghosts.

cuz when you talk about a master necromancer we imagine someone who makes an army of darkness...and not just from old games like diablo trilogy or tes games...even in gothic trilogy when you walk the mage path with necromancy and belial allegiance you can summon armies of skeletons and they give you vibe of opnes(especially cuz there is no cap so as long u have mana and 3 seconds for ritual...make it rain>:3 )

It's because other franchises (Diablo) have Necromancers with multiple permanent minions.

Why does it bother you that people want that? It's their opinion. It doesn't mean it's going to happen.

It doesn't mean it would be a bad thing if it did happen, either.

In Diablo II the necromancer could summon more than one skeleton.

    Maybe that's the reason?

Yeah, but Diablo II and Blizzard isn't the arbiter of all games. In fact what ideas aren't plagiarized usually suck.

I like the way it is in ESO, players with multiple bots following them around sucks.

I disgree. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. I've ran a summoner or Necromancer in each of those games (not going to bring up the other games I've played Necromancers in) and when Necromancers where announced I like many others figured they'd stick to the past formula in the past ELDERSCROLLS games. So keeping it within the Elderscrolls series...let's have a look shall we.....

1st is the duration of the pets.
-Morrowind Summon Zombies/Skeletons lasted 60 secs. Permanent pets could be summoned using the soul trap spell.
    -Oblivion Zombies/Skeletons lasted 25-30 secs.
-Skyrim zombies/skeletons lasted 60 sec and thralls lasted a VERY long time.
-EsO skeletons we get 15 secs. 15 secs. That's disappointing to most of us who have waited for the class.

2nd is the number of pets.
-Morrowind only let you summon 1 at a time...but if I remember correctly you could create a spell that summons 2. So that counts.
    -Oblivion only 1 summon.
-Skyrim lets you summon 2 pets. Plus the Ritual stone allowed you to summon...a lot once a day...(still counts)
-EsO lets you summon 3. But the durations are so short they are more torrents than actual pets.

    3rd is pet functionality.
All the previous games allowed you to summon skeletons and zombies....both ranged AND MELEE. So why would a magic ranged necromancer call upon a ranged mage skeleton? Makes no sense. I'd summon a melee skeleton that gets out front while i cast from the rear. Make the skeleton sword do fire/magic damage so it can scale with our magic pool and spell damage. And then the blastbone summon....I think we can all agree that at LEAST is suppose to be a zombie. Exploding zombie makes more sense than a skeleton. I'd even go so far as to add a summon thats an infected zombie that rushes ahead and deals melee damage and spits poisonous vomit and explodes after it's killed or the time expires. 2 in 1...a melee blast zombie.

These are a few of the problems most fans of Necromancers have with this class. Only thing i can understand is the summon duration. Perma pets would simply be sorcs 2.0. But 15 secs....come on guys. That's pitiful. 30 secs at least...60 secs max.
