mile gates specifically benefit the faction they are supposed to. they face the opposing faction and allow a single point of travel (that single gate) between opposing factions. as well as granting a defensible bottleneck to the beneficiary faction. (the wall and all its stairs / ramps face one direction, and only allow one side to gain access to them)
further more when destroyed the beneficiary faction can still cross the mile gate to the opposing faction side. forcing the other faction to take a long path around while still having perfect access to classic travel routes.
the bridges offer no such benefit
the bridges have two bottlenecks compared to one, and not only that its a choke point (bridge ramp), into a bottleneck (bridge tunnel), into another choke point (bridge middle), into a bottleneck (bridge tunnel), into a final choke point (bridge ramp)
the towers grant equal access to both factions compared to favoring AD, both facing off the bridge in their respective direction.
and finally when broken AD is unable to cross into EP territory, if AD breaks the bridge they are unable to use it as a classic travel route, this alone is a COLLOSAL disadvantage compared to the mile gates. its in the defending factions best interest to keep mile gates destroyed (EP and DC) as it impedes enemy faction travel but in no way impedes their own. the bridge impedes both equally.
solution
widen and flatten the bridge spans, and put a mile gate ON them in the middle benefiting AD, as a plus you can remove the stored data on the various bridge destruction levels to reduce lag in pvp (the reasoning behind making towers unbreakable)
