I really hope some of the key Necro skills end up being "illegal."

I'm going to find the most guard-dense city there is, and challenge every necro that walks past to a duel!

Anyone forget when the Dawnguard casually got used to Serana, but the second the Dragonborn became a vampire all hell broke loose?

"Hey, you see that heavily armed warrior that just beat a dragon to death and ate its soul? Let's mug him."

Stage 4 Vamp and Werewolf, I agree. It is after all a mmoRPG*. I have 2 Vamps and a werewolf, feeding, not such a problem. Where's the risk, playing it safe (players and developers) all the time can make things bland.

Skins and polymorphs argument, that's just cosmetic (like morphing armour at the Outfit station, doesn't actually change what it is.

It's still only my opinion. If something like this isn't implemented, so what. If it is I for one would enjoy the challenge.

    * As in it has a setting, a story, a background etc. Something that makes it unique. I don't mean you actually have to RP unless that's your thing.

Vampirism and Lycanthropy are supposed to be CURSES, so should have a serious downside.... Something more significant than a vulnerability to fire so trivial I never even noticed it was there.

The benefits of both curses should equal the downsides. And currently they don't. Yet everyone wants to see more downsides added on.

Werewolf line takes extra damage from poison. And its only a single ultimate. It looks fancy when you see all the skills you can use while in the form. But at the end of the day, its a Twenty Skill-point ultimate. An ultimate that doesn't really provide more damage than other ultimates.

    So its benefits:

    +15% Stam recovery when slotted.
Some cool looking animations when you use it.
    Some unique abilities when used.

    Its downsides:

    Extra damage from poison
10x points used on ultimate (20 vs 2)
    Takes up an ultimate slot
Doesn't increase DPS by a significant amount.

Vampires are a bit better off. You can see a benefit from it without losing an ultimate slot.

    Its benefits:

    +10% Stam/Magicka recovery
A decent movement skill (Elusive Mist)
Reduction in damage based on health

    Its downsides:

Limited use of tattoos (they appear washed out and hard to see)
    Extra fire damage taken
    Limited selection of useful skills.
    Stealth passive requires night

There's more benefits to be listed for both. But the circumstances that they can be used are so specific, that it makes no relevancy to give them a downside such as Bounty for simply walking into town. Especially considering the reason the Law and Order system even exists within ESO.

That reason is a Risk Versus Reward system. Everything you do that incurs a bounty, has a chance at a greater reward than the bounty could cost. Stealing, killing, trespass all give means of earning money and completing unique questlines.

You all have no given examples of what sort of benefit these skill-lines should have based on incurring bounty by being what they are. And personally I think it should be left alone simply for the fact that this game doesn't have a true alignment/moral system in place. It doesn't even make sense to add one in at this point.

And then finally, some of you are taking a lazy means out by saying its an RPG and it should just arbitrarily be done because you think it ought to be. You see, in actual RP communities, the act of inflicting a consequence on another player's character without their consent is called God-modding. It is one of the most offensive things you could do in many RP circles. So you all might want to reconsider throwing the RP argument around.

That is unless you want to make it an optional thing. A setting in options that only incurs bounty for those actions if the checkbox is clicked. So those people who don't consent to being accosted for selecting skill-lines won't have to worry about it. If you all agree to this option, then I'll fully agree with adding the requested features of this thread.

Its a win-win situation. You guys get your immersion when you play those characters. The rest of us won't have to worry about peoples' specific ideas of what they think the world should be like.

The problem is, in this case, making Stage 4 KoS would actually encourage making things blander. It would cull the Vampire population, or encourage Vampire players to run at lower stages, making the entire line less appealing. The end result would be an entire build decision being regarded as non-viable by a large swath of the community, hence less build diversity, more blandness.

I'm cool with vampire active abilities and the transform being crimes, but if we straight up say, "stage 4 is a crime," then that's going to make vampire a lot less appealing for a lot of applications, and reduce build diversity.

Werewolves & Vampires should automatically fear all neutral NPCs except guards who should attack to kill! Also anyone wearing a skeleton polymorph should be seized & locked in a crypt. Nearby NPCs should boo & hiss if players wear Daedric armour or polymorphs.

And khajiits and argonians shouls be put down if they leave their homeland.
Eso since Xbox launch and switched over to pc 1/2019.

In fairness, given that normally no one survives Harkon turning them, he probably thought that was a pretty sure way to snuff the DB.

Reduce build diversity?!?! There isn't a magicka build to found on the internet that doesnt highly recommend if not outright insist that your build includes being a vampire. What about I'm Cyrodill ever seen how many vampires their are? I predict that if stage 4 can gives a bounty there will be still be an insane amount of vamps in the world.
