"Celebration"? In PVPville? Yeah, not.

There's really no point in doing a celebration where most people can't join in. This game really does prove what people are like, and it's not pretty. Really? You scum can't just let people do quests in the towns for the event? You gotta prove how AWESOME you are by ganking non-pvp players? You are the problem. Really. You are. And for all the people who will write their various "You just suck" replies? Yeah. You're the reason why this game is starting to turn to crap. Thanks dudes. Enjoy it when you're just ganking each other. Oh, and thank ZEOS. For nothing.

Getting really tired of these threads. They paint all us PvE players in an embarrassing light. It’s making us all look like a bunch of whiny children. I don’t like PvPers who gank quest givers, I think they’re afraid of real PvP, but for Christ sake, the amount of whinging going on in the forums is cringy and embarrassing. Not all PvE players are total and utter sooks and not all PvP players gank questers.

Everybody get a god damn grip.

YOu get a lot of these threads because people would like to do the quests and they can't because of crap players who do PVP. Not all PVP players are crap, but the huge numbers of them are. Like tonight... I saw a couple of players from a different alliance getting quests. I didn't bother 'em. But the scum that hang out at the quest points are serious POS. And they know it. They brag about it. Because they're SO cool.

PvP's dying a slow death, and so many PvPers are seemingly encouraging its death. Faction locks, and using "door-ganking" exploits does nothing to encourage new players to join - the opposite in fact, and we desperately need new players, on X-NA anyway, where outside of primetime every single campaign aside from Vivec is a ghost town.

Making arses of yourself to anyone who enters Cyro won't help matters.

I agree it can be pretty troublesome. I've found best way to deal with it is to just be sneaky, be willing to switch to characters in other alliances, and be relentlessly unwilling to give up. For example, today I did all 50 quests on my main and only got killed 9 times around the towns! Gankers need to step up their game, first day was way more challenging for me XD

Ask in zone chat what towns are safe, if you see other alliance people in a town let your alliance know. Beyond that, I just don't let them have a fun kill where I run away if I know I have no chance. I just stand there and wait, go grab a snack. If these people are satisfied by making others frustrated, then the obvious solution is to be as nonchalant about the situation as possible.

I'll finish my fishing and dolmen hunting in Cyro after the event, when the other alliances are actually trying to take back the keeps around their gates and not just hiding out in towns.

Well tough luck. It’s a PvP zone. There are going to be toxic players who want the easy AP. It’s the way it is. No point having giant whinge about it. As long as your in Cyrodill your fair game. That’s how it’s been for 5 years. You want the Tharn pages? Here are your options:
    • Make some Impen gear and try to defend yourself. (Why people are stupid enough to go into Cyrodill with full divines PvE set up is beyond me)
    • Group up, safety in numbers.
    • Call for help in zone chat, some PvPs might come help clear out the gankers.
    • Switch campaigns.
    • Don’t even bother and buy the Tharn pages from the guild trader.
    • Cop it on the chin and hold off until week 5.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if you got kicked out of all your trial groups next week? I'm sure the questers you kill would think so. Wouldn't it also be hilarious if you had to pay a factor of 10 gold more per page to complete that outfit style just because a fraction of the usual amount of players was able to collect them?

I love playing PvP and yet I don't get why people are being so mean to each other for no damn reason. Ganking near the turn in quests, okay, but ganking inside the house? Using balistas indoors? Becoming emperor and move your gank squad to Cheydinhal (which has no strategic value)? Yeah, I don't see how anyone can defend this sort of behavior and not look like a complete butt.

Some clearer communication in the announcement would have been helpful. A lot of people I've talked to are under the impression that all the box types are available in Week 5, but that only the PvP quest boxes will drop the Tharn motif.

@JadeCoin I am pretty sure that's how it works too. Otherwise there would be no reason to have the boxes named differently. If ZOS just changes loot tables for them each week, then there wouldn't be a requirement for that, so I'm quite sure only the PvP boxes will drop the Tharn boxes, just like the crafting boxes drop Prophet, the bosses boxes drop Lyris and the trial boxes will drop Sai.
Do you think that's not the case?

Good for you. I love PvP, but that's against other willing particpants. If you derive enjoyment from making other people miserable, you have something wrong with you.

Fortunately, all the guilds I'm in are full of folk who feel the same way, as not a single person has suggested door-exploiting questers.

On PTS any style could drop from any of the week 5 boxes and nothing in the official announcement indicates that it will be different on the live servers.

To confirm, the fifth week boxes are different boxes from all the other weeks. They have a different name, and a different loot table, and will drop all of the companion styles.

I sympathize with those who feel that this week is difficult. That being said, this is a five-week event that covers all content in this game. You do not have to participate in any week and will still have plenty of opportunity in the fifth week to obtain what you want of the companion styles. You can do 50 daily quests per day, per character, and all dailies will count. I don't PVP, I chose to take a break this week. I will also be sitting out the next week for the most part, and I am still confident I will be able to complete the sets in the fifth week.

Not all PvE players are total and utter sooks and not all PvP players gank questers.

Everybody get a god damn grip.

Don't let that get it man. PvPers in this game do that to themself 365 days a year.

Don’t put them all in the same box. Just like not all PvE players are sooks, not all PvP players are toxic arseholes. Good and bad in both.

You know, I usually not a big fan of generalisation. Yet, you reminded something. There was an midyear mayhem last year and I remember tuning in for some streams on twitch to get drops. I went through 3 different eso streamers and you know what they were doing at that time? They were writing insults to people in private messages. I found it both funny and pathetic at the same time. Just went with some obscure random streamer with 3 wievers instead for the background to get the drops.

And I mean I know not all people are toxic and lack sportsmanship like that. I very often play tekken 7, BlazBlue and some other games where PvP is primary focus of the game. And toxic people there are exceptionally rare, like 1 in maybe 400 hours of playtime.

If you don't teabag and insult people in pm in ESO while doing pvp, respect for you man. It's good sportsmanship. But that's most likely an exception, not a rule in this game.

They're just closing threads like this claiming we're baiting and flaming members of the community, shame they don't care about the community inside the game

Can't say my experience matches your statement. Have yet to meet people in cyrodiil that have any traces of dignity left.
I wouldn't mind to be pleasantly surprised though.
