IM NOT A STREAMER. IM JUST A COP, AND A DAMN GOOD ONE TOO.
IF YOU LIKE TO PVE, A 500G LICENSE FEE SHOULD BE PRETTY AFFORDABLE.
IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO FOLLOW THE LAW WHILE WEARING AN ENEMY TABBARD, DONT BLAME ME. I DON'T WRITE THE RULES, I JUST ENFORCE THEM.

Affordable? Perhaps. Worth the gold? Not at all. I wouldn’t even pay 1 gold for a ‘questing license’ when I was able to quest peacefully with red and blue just this morning for free. You, my good man, are taking it too far.
Simple solution is for me to just queue into another campaign if I see you.
THE LONG ARM OF THE LAW ISNT LIMITED BY SERVER REDTRICTIONS.
That is true. But you can't be everywhere at once. I know because I haven't come across you so far, and if I did I'd be sure to stay far away.
I would rather be a fugitive of the law a few short days and get killed a couple times then pay gold I'm saving up for things XD If you catch me, good on you. But either way I'm putting in my time to get my boxes.
I respect your courage and look forward to our next encounter

I explained this earlier, but I would hate to discourage such a relentlessly curious individual. ZAM is an acronym we use at work, and I absentmindedly wrote ZAM instead of ZOS, and then I thought better of it and attempted to type "the" over the ZAM, but instead wrote it in front, and I submitted the post without recognizing that I had done this. The root cause, of course, is that I'm old and lame.
As others have mentioned you can buy the pages from guild stores, wait till the last week to farm those pages, and you can even trade your duplicates with other players until you get them all.
I am not an altoholic. I only have two characters and I deleted all the rest, but at the moment I'm only playing one. The reason I'm mentioning this is due to the fact that I only completed writs on one character, which limits the amount of boxes I could get to 7 per day during the first week. That was my choice. Now PvP lands has variety of daily quests that involve killing others, stealing scrolls, taking keeps, scouting, etc. However, the most lucrative option is to do the very easy town quests. One could argue that the risk of being attacked justifies the ease of completion for these quests, since one could potentially reach the max of daily quests on one character without wasting too much time by just doing these quests. Of course, specifically doing these quests and ignoring all the rest would be one's choice.
You specifically want to know what kind of experience ZOS wants you to have? In relation to Cyrodiil, if you consider that the most obvious daily quests are the ones in the starting area it's pretty clear that they want you to go out into the world and do PvP that is specifically related to the alliance war. If you want to do the very easy PvE oriented quests, which you have to go out of your way to find then you must have the mindset that you can be attacked at any moment. Ideally you will learn from your experience and improve as a player. This might even result in you enjoying PvP once you start getting the better of others.

Well there is that little gear at the top right of your posts, you can change that to the correct abbreviation. It is just really hard to take your complaints seriously when you don't even have the name of the company right.

Excellent and well reasoned post. However, my first experience heading down that lane was on Sheogorath, which only had questers on it in DC, and the map was overrun after the first evening I tried to engage. There was not a single group up to do anything strategically meaningful. This was my first campaign experience.
I would also like to reiterate that I don't have a problem being attacked in a PvP zone. I expect to get relentlessly ganked and laughed at on discord or something. I was killed probably 30-40 times, and I killed maybe two people, and that was because we zerged them and I had the right moments. I'm fine with that. When the heat got bad, unless we were rallying, I moved on to the rest of the low hanging fruit. There are many quests. I got my pages a lot faster than I did with Lyris, which had a terrible drop rate. I did 30-35 WB and 5-6 delve quests a day, and got one page per day until the end of the week when they started dropping 2-3/day. I had all of the Tharn pages after two days. Given that, the current trader pricing demonstrates my point. Despite a generous drop rate, the Tharn pages started out higher than Lyris pages did. If everyone went out there to do the grind, I'd expect the Tharn pages to approach Prophet prices by Thursday. For those that can tolerate it, there is gold to be made in the very near term because fewer players are willing to deal with the hassle and frustration.
None of that is really the problem that led to my question. Two things disturbed me about my experience: the exploits that were clearly being used to grief questers rather than play the game which has to be known by the game's designers, and the abuse of questers being broadcast as entertainment which reinforces an adversarial and toxic culture, drops enabled. BTW I'm not arguing that people should not be allowed to do or say what they want on Twitch, I'm saying that the fact that the adversarial relationship between the PvPrs and PvErs supporting a market for such a stream is disturbing. As a gaming community, we have strong common ground with a variety of interests that can be explored in the game, and until this week my experiences (other than the occasional troll, it is the internet) have been extremely positive.
And FWIW, I find Thogard's online persona amusing, he reminds me of Horka Thane in the Tribes days, if anyone knows who that is. It's the fans I saw tonight that I don't like, given their groupthink response to his antics.
PvE players are fresh meat for pvp players this week then next week those pve players have to carry the pvp players through pledges. Sounds totally fair to me.....
My guess is the following. ZOS is trying to widen the gap between PvP and PvE players and to fuel the hatred between them. AvA war is not working so instead PvP v PvE war is promoted. And it works.furiouslog wrote: »So, with all of that in mind, this is my question: what the hell are you guys actually trying to achieve? I really want to know. Because if you want to broaden the enjoyment of the game for your customers by giving them incentives to try new content, speaking as a long-term consumer of your product, you are failing to provide a positive first impression of that content. If your intent is to feed the PvP community with players they can repeatedly gank and mock, who don't have the gear or skills to handle the zone, I'd suggest telling us all that up front. That way we're going in eyes wide open.

Seeing threads like this is pretty much the reason why I avoid PvP in this game like the cancerous plague it is.
Oh, but please... do go on about how PVE'rs are 'just as toxic'.......

Also, really tired of these threads. If PVP hurts your fragile egos this badly, you can simply skip this week, rather than complaining about the fact that PVPers are PVPing.
P.S. Quests are not the only way to earn PVP jubilee rewards, FYI. There’s “kill 20 templars” and the like. In fact, one could argue that the campers are not griefing, but rather taking a more efficient route to complete their own dailies. If you don’t like it, get out.
ZOS obviously designed this event to be appealing to all players as the focus changes each week. This is PVP week.furiouslog wrote: »So, with all of that in mind, this is my question: what the hell are you guys actually trying to achieve?
Predictably, players who do not enjoy PVP but are addicted to loot boxes are going to Cyrodiil anyway and having a completely miserable time.
The issue here is the obsession with loot boxes which is driving players to do things they do not enjoy. This is why games of chance are heavily regulated in RL. They are psychologically exploitative and a high percentage of people just can't handle that.
At this point, many otherwise bored PVP players are going to the towns because they are entertained by the social dynamics (salt). Your post is going to drive more there.
