Most of the PvPers people are complaining about aren’t actually PvPers. The people who’ve been fighting back at the frontier towns haven’t exactly been the cream of the crop.

I’ve had a ton of fun streaming my cop character though hehe

It’s been interesting - ive been messaging people to halt and pay a questing fee, but I haven’t attacked people unless they attack me, they run from me, or they go into hiding.

95% of the people I message do one of those things. Most of them attack me.

Twice I had people lie and say they sent in the application fee. Those were probably the most clever players :)

I’ve been reported extensively too. Apparently asking enemy alliance members for gold is harassment... which is funny because that’s exactly how you deaggro the guards lol. I’ve gotten an immense number of hate tells and I’m building it into quite the collection... but the stream has been a ton of fun too. People really like watching cops of cyrodil, and I’m only asking for 10k. I’m also returning to sender the gold of anyone who sends it to me ;)

Some people are being really cool and ignoring you when they see you are just questing.

The ones that are camping the quest givers and killing players trying to turn in the quests are the problem. Or maybe it's ZOS's problem for setting the event up like this. Or maybe it's my problem for playing this game. At this point, it's getting to the idgaf stage of ridiculousness.

So many people in this thread missing the forest for the trees.

Also, one of the D-bag griefers camping the quest turn in at Cropsford had Former Emporer in his name title.

Guess it makes them feel powerful and important somehow.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

The fool probably cheesed emp on Shor lol. Means nada nowadays. Or night cap zerged it lmao.

I was expecting maybe one or two of these threads this week but there’s one after the other:)

I PvP in Vivec NA PC quite a bit and the attacks on players doing quests are pretty much constant and indiscriminate- I’ve been jumped and yanked multiple times but to me that’s part of the fun. If someone is obviously just doing quests I’ll leave them alone.

I was killing the titan outside of Bruma and a DC sorc got off a cheeky ranged last shot on the titan to kill it - then he ran the hell away. There’s no way I would have chased him. :)

But others seemed to be attacking me so they went down.

    Idk.

Maybe ZOS needs to have a PVE only campaign for this event.

Not every week is going to be every players idea of fun.

I didn’t do many of the WB quests last week because they are, frankly, pretty boring.

At first, I was with the OP. Yesterday, we had a Cyro group (which started with Cropsford daily quests) with my PvE trial friends and it evolved into a 3 alliance-fight on the bridge, then some sieges and skirmishes. Now I can say, some die hard PvE players of ESO are now very interested in PvP. Some of them have never even tried Cyro before, beyond getting the warhorn or caltrops stages during the Pelinal event. Also, you can see many new-player type of questions in the zone chat. I'm happy. PvP players will endure some crazy for a week but then we will see a good amount of players flowing into the PvP areas.

The reason is to get pvers interested in pvp.

That aim failed miserably in my case.

Actually, the behaviour of many PvPers, suffering from some superiority complex, the griefing, the trash talking, etc. only managed to strengthen my stance on the PvP environment in ESO. I consider it a disgusting, smelly, and hostile cesspit I have no wish to ever as much as dip my toe in.

Agree. The event is quite bad this time. I remember when I tried to PvP for the first time during the Midyear Mayhem....and I actually enjoyed it. They mixed PvE and PvP, but did that properly last time, so both side could have fun.

This time it's different. It's a griefing and gank-fest. And it is not just pvpers who are ganking. A bunch of pvers are not better, but even worse in this aspect. If the town is not your color, in most cases it is impossible to continue questing without switching to another campaign or character. I personally adapted to survive and get 80+ boxes a day in this mess, but unlike mayhem this is no fun at all.

ZOS miserably failed this week. All what it mainly achieved is that PvErs now think even less of PvP activities, PvPers, and their own (pve) kind as well.

I went and fought some of these “veteran” pvpers messing with questers. They were TRASH. I PVP EVERY DAY. These were not vets lol. PvEers messing with PvEers I would suppose...

I've had much the same experience as the two of you. I've seen far more new name people I've never seen in Cyrodiil before doing most of this griefing. I too suspect its more PvE players griefing other PvE players. That's not saying some actual PvP players aren't doing it. But I am saying blaming it solely on only PvP'ers is blowing it way out of proportion.

Guess since the event is in Cyrodiil it's just much easier to blame it on PvP'ers not to mention it kind of ruins the argument if the griefing is happening by your own side.

PvPers have to endure 3 out of 5 weeks of PvE related content in order to get their rewards. What right do you have to get upset that PvPers get 1 week of doing their desired content that offers them a chance of getting the same rewards you've been getting for the last 2 weeks and will get again in a few days? The 5 Companion pages aren't that difficult to get and Guild Stores are absolutely flooded with so much of them that you'll be lucky to give them away at this point (I have at least 2 extra Jerkins and Shoes of Abnar Tharn that I'll been trying to give away for free since Friday with no luck thus far).

No need to be upset about the whole thing for a couple of boxes that offer an RNG reward of mostly crafting mats.

Here's the difference if you actually can't see it: for the PvE events no one can actively prevent you from getting the boxes. In Cyrodiil they can and do just to be jerks. It's really that simple, THAT is why these events should never be in Cryodiil. Trying to force players into PvP content never ends well in any game.

I dont really support just hanging out and killing players at quest hubs but just accept that's part of PVP and really the point of this event being in a PVP area should give us PVPers another place to fight over.

But; if PVErs are choosing Vivec to quest in where there already is a queue; I fully support making it as impossible as possible. That is terrible judgment

Let's be honest for a second: The risk of PvP is the only interesting thing about the PvE quests in Cyrodiil.

Generally speaking, ESO has pretty interesting questing. There's stories, sometimes pretty intricate ones. Characters have arcs. Those characters even come back in later quests, referencing your prior encounters (if you've met before.)

And then there's Cyrodiil's quests. Those, frankly, kinda suck. Kill 10 goblins, retrieve my bag of goodies I accidentally left in a cave of spiders, set some of my friends on fire, go retrieve a package for me, kill a bear. Except, every quest (aside from that bear quest, and arguably the lighthouse) would ask you to engage in some behavior that would make it more likely for you to engage in PvP. Quests take you into delves, which used to require you spend a lot of time camping down there, if you wanted to complete the delve. They take you across roads that invading players were expected to take. They ask you to loiter near some of those expected paths. This is to say nothing of the quests that ask you to hang out in towns, where other PvPers will be drawn in, (which account for almost half of the repeatable PvE quests in Cyrodiil.)

Other players coming to kill you is literally the only thing these quests have going for them. With that in mind, they're kinda cool. There's no other quests in the game that force you to play with one eye firmly on the horizon, as strongly as these do. The quests themselves are boring, but the part where you always have to be on guard for an attack from a hostile player is not.

Bring friends, travel in packs, kill anyone who wants to snuff you.
