I would happily not get the crappy 200 AP from turning those in if it meant I couldn’t attack other players and they couldn’t attack me in areas that for all intent and purpose, just based on the story, should be relatively neutral zones.
The war of “if you’re in a PvP zone be ready to die” has been going since launch and sounds the same as it always has. I only go to Cyro for events, and occasional guild activity. During events, it’s to get quest rewards. During guild activities, it’s to die horrible deaths at the hands of people that know what they’re doing. On the one hand, I’m questing, and geared to kill npcs, on the other, I’m taking objectives and trying to occupy an opponent long enough for my pvp guildmates to kill them. Just because it’s a PvP zone, doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t be able to do both activities. The problem is that when I’m trying to do the former, people with nothing better to do, hide near quest givers and kill me without me having a chance to fight back. During this event, it’s been small groups of 3 to 5 players that rather than go take a keep, would rather just farm people questing.
So, is ZoS promoting toxic behavior, yes. It keeps a lot of people who might otherwise enjoy Cyrodiil away from the zone because there is nothing to be gained from those long rides to a skyshard just to be murdered before you can finish soaking it in. Oh, and to the idiot that said to make room for pvpers, maybe you should go check out the faction lock threads where people are bitching about underpopulated/dead campaigns. Rather than just gank every PvEer trying to do quests, you encourage us to participate so maybe we invest in making PvP characters, getting good, and giving good fights.
By their actions though, it seems most PvPers really just want easy kills that will inflate their stats and make them feel better about themselves, which really, there are more wholesome ways to get that.
I really want to see pvp'ers actually respond to this right here. Pvp populations aren't the strongest they've ever been, and could definitely use improvement. These events are the best way to get more people into cyrodiil, and if they stop for a moment and don't take a moment to inflate their ego by farming such underprepared players they may find that some of them would actually stick around, get comfortable in pvp, and help improve the pvp population and make cyrodiil a better place to be overall. Not one comment have I seen on these threads has any pvp'er whose been defending the farming of questers responded to this and I would be interested if any would.1 -

In which case, those of us who do both PvP and PvE will rationally sit you down and explain to you how the PvP Birds and the Bees work.

It's always BEEN a PvP zone. No one is forcing YOU to participate. YOU are forcing YOURSELF to participate. You can in fact skip this event if you don't want to PvP. You get tickets from the cake. You can purchase the outfit styles from guild vendors or trade them for older styles in zone. Or you can wait until the last week where everything drops from everything. They're not using it as an excuse.

But the ones that have worth and merit generally have the evidence to back the post up; documented into detail. At least that's how it USED to be. You have the Class Reps to thank for the recent version of the PTS and you can take from it what you will. But it wasn't 'just' PvPers this time. It was PvEers too.
TLDR; Either way, I do both PvE and PvP and I have to say that PvEers are being absolutely ridiculous. It's ONE WEEK. Then it's back to PvE events. If you don't like PvP, sit it out. No one is forcing you to participate.Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies!1 -

To be honest, that is the case. Cause I never (or at least very rarely) ever saw this kind of behavior before this event started happening. It certainly wasn't nearly as common as it now. That I can tell you.

Real PvPers fight other PvPers. They like a challenge, They like an actual fight. They don't stalk towns in massive zergs or camp inside houses so they can slaughter defenseless questers who die in less than a second.

And if slaughtering defenseless PvEers who are trying to quest is fun for someone - then that someone has issues. Because it's not fun. The whole reason real PvPers like PvP is because of the extra challenge it brings to fight another real-life person who can think, adapt, and strategzie. It's not so they can mass in huge numbers and slaughter lone individuals trying to quest or ambush them when zoning into a house. That's not player vs player combat. That's trolling.

✭✭✭✭✭and by the way, you know the lower level below 50 are battle leveled and are extreme tanky and do alot of damage because of battle leveling their stats are higher then others, which would mean us higher level players are actually fighting players with higher stats then ours if we were to fight someone below level 50.0 -

How many pvp'ers do the town daily quest? Those award event boxes just as the 'kill enemy player' and 'capture keep' quest do, but telling them that basically 'you aren't welcome here' isn't the way to make cyrodiil a better place to pvp.1 -

Any major PvP guild that spends their time camping houses to kill questers has some very serious problems....

And your point falls apart when you consider all the 1vX'ers out there, who's sole purpose is to chase down those mass numbers. That in turn leads those mass numbers to be wary of the lone player.
Trying to preach about how PvP is supposed to be when it's something you don't do is like a man trying to explain womanly functions to a female.
You just have no idea what you're talking about. The last person I'll listen to about "How PvP is supposed to be" is someone who doesn't play it.

Like I said, it's not my cup of tea. I do not recall ever intentionally seeking out weaker opponents.
But at the same time, everyone in Cyrodiil is fair game and should be prepared to PVP or figure out ways to overcome challenges. If they don't want to dot that, they shouldn't decide to play in a PVP area.
Coddling PVE players isn't the way to attract PVP players. Any gained by doing so will only wall snipe and faction stack.2 -

my guild does that year round to everyone in cryodiil, we wait for zergs to come by and we run out and kill all of them.
this event is nothing new. just has more people in it.
we camp certain areas and we all huddle in a small corner and wait for a zerg to run by or come near.
then BAM we run out and a war starts.1 -

They don't. In fact, they're vehemently against camping towns and will faction swap just so each alliance has a chance in those towns. The people who you're referencing to are toxic people and don't represent the entirety of PvP. This is the line of your logic;- PvPers kill players in PvP.

- Therefore all PvPers are camp-killing questers.
That's faulty deductive reasoning at it's finest. By that logic, it's safe to assume that all PvEers are just as toxic because they'll name and shame someone for using ESOLogs.

No what's funny is these so-called "PvPers" suck so much they have to gather in massive numbers and pick on lone players just trying to do quests. That's what is really funny here. And their attempts to defend it by claiming it's fair because it's a pvp zone is so laughably stupid you would have to have some kind of a __________ to actually believe it.
I say let's turn the tables and give these "PvErs" who are just trying to do quests massive buffs to where they are like one-man zergs. Then we can all have a good laugh while the so-called "PvPers" come here complaining about how unfair it is.
