I don't know how to deal with spear spamming Templars

    Stamplar has no mobility. Being stam doesn’t automatically mean you have mobility. Nor are they even close to tanky (that’s experience) defense is what they lack.

    Stamplars really just shine against people who can’t deal with pressure and those who try to face tank jabs.

    I tend to disagree

    it may not have built in mobility but it has a great toolkit to insert mobility at no cost.

    for instance classic forward momentum deals with lack of mobility, and then insert whatever form of major expedition you see fit. cleansing ritual is also amazing when kiting or running as thanks to sacred ground its a colossal aoe 30% slow that targets chasing, following, or fighting have to deal with, while it heals you, and removes negative effects. and because snares as a negative effect reduce % of targets current bonus no amount of move speed can keep up, meaning the attackers HAVE to spam further snare removal to give chase.

    then restoring focus grants your major buffs and gives 240 stam recovery a second (equal to 480 stam recovery as recovery ticks every 2 seconds) meaning you don't have to build as much stam recovery in class. further resistances can be further slotted through protective jewelry, at least 1 heavy chest, perhaps your even a nord, etc.

    and then unlike stam sorc or stam DK when running a 2H and dual wield you still have a great stam spammable with jabs, that has a COLLOSAL 70% snare, that really make it easy to keep people in place to apply rending, the snare is enough to make people dodge roll and snare removal FURTHER eating their resources just because of your main spammable.

    stam templar does not have "classic" op symptoms, like extreme move speed, some amazing high damage ult, or some form of iconic skill like wings to draw people into it or make it op.
    what it does have is an amazing spamable and a particular set of tools in a very particular order that if utilized and built around make it amazing to the point of staggering, as people are used to stam templar being a useless non factor in pvp.

    That’s my point , it has no built in mobility whatsoever. If we say a class has mobility simply because of outside sources then every class has mobility, including mag variations.

    As far as being tanky rune doesn’t make them any more tanky than the next class with that buff. In fact it’s still the least tankiest stam class after stam nb. Only thing going for it outside of the typical mitigation buff is ritual. Simply staying alive doesn’t equate to being tanky, tanky is stam dk and stam warden. I can kite around a tower for ages but that doesn’t mean I’m tanky.

    i already explained its mobility options combined with colossal anti mobility (70% snare on its main spammable is just really oppressively punishing) people say don't face tank jabs but with a 70% snare if your in melee with a templar your not exactly going to be circle strafing them, a lot of players natural reaction to that kind of snare is to roll away and snare cleanse, this does nothing but eat resources as once again, this snare is going to be back on them within seconds.

    and if you do try to run or disengage you get silver leashed back within range, this does very decent damage, once again applies a snare, stuns, and pulls you. this skill is why templars don't run the stun DB, and go with the WD DB, as with silver leash and fighters guild passives they get quite a bit of bonus WD, and they need the leash to land and the target to not be CC immune, it can double as a stun if needed as well.

    also templar is deceptively tanky, the difference in mitigation between all classes at base is maybe ~5% due to passives, and the rest is build / race choice. but the amount of tank that is granted by extended ritual in its ability to purge defiles, poisons, bleeds, etc. and provide another healing over time on top of forward momentum and rally make it, once again, deceptively tanky. there is no OP burst heal on stamplar, they just mitigate / flat out ignore a lot of the damage and debuffs other classes have to deal with (cleansing bleeds is massive and makes them all but immune to one of the biggest BS mechanics of pvp atm)

    and once again their whole kit cancels out other players mobility, if your fighting a stamplar you are at least snared 30% at all times by extended ritual (this makes it very hard to chase them as well) this makes any mobility the stamplar does have seem even better. and jabs applies a 70% slow that will have 100% uptime in combat for the most part (once again, oppressively punishing) that requires a colossal amount of resources to disengage from.

    and if you do get some distance with that much snare on you, they will leash you back (silver leash will open your eyes with how amazing it is on stamplar, better then any other class) and just re snare you.

    its an amazingly oppressive spec when built any played well. and like stam DK, because its been so bad for a long time the few people playing them are those that are good with them, and that makes it all the worse.
