THE POOR CYRODIIL TOURIST

Strange how things change...

Surely, surely there is something that can be done to minimize the pure toxic behavior during a festival where there is an influx of "Cyrodiil Tourists"?

Previously serious PvP players would, in general, let questers be, especially around quest hubs, but omw, how different it is this time during the anniversary event.

WITH THIS EVENT groups of 30+ grievers & gankers wait in ambush or harass players who are picking up or turning in Jubilee quests.

Completely out of their depth, no pvp gear or skills in sight they make life extremely frustrating and unpleasant for those fellow ESO players and all they do is give someone who might have thought about joining the campaign war a firm resolution to never do so.

IDEAS:
- Placing a circle of sanctuary around quest givers similar to what players have when going through a door in Imperial City.
- Lowering the AP value to almost nothing around the Cyrodiil towns for the duration of the event.

Thoughts, experiences, ideas, suggestions to desalt Cyrodiil for the period of the event?

Admin please could you just minimise the grieving factor here?

I bet you’d vacation in Syria, then complain to the government for not making it safer. If you want to play war tourist, you accept the risk of death.

Previously the towns weren’t part of the alliance war transit system. Now they are, making them strategically important. Quester don’t get a pass at war objectives.

    Admin please...

Funny thing is they closed my thread about the state of this event apparently for review which takes them more now around day, we had 1 thread where players typed what they thought and ideas, now we have multiple thread asking the same things... typical behaviour of forum mods.

Now I can give you an idea how to survive the mess of the event (it worked for me and my buddies for 2 days since event started).
1.Lure the gankers on full speed-fully upgraded mount (don't get 2 close as apparently NB gap closer can keep up with mount speed and will hunt you down with using it as spammable).
2.The rest of the team while ganker dogs are busy chasing your teammate get the quests,
    3. Share those quests
    4. Do the quests
    5. Repeat Step 1 to deliver quests
    6. Rotate players that lure gankers away so that they will not rage about being killed 2 many times.
    7. Optional: Shout in the zone chat where gankers are (to warn others), and that you need help with them, some players love to come and hunt them down like a rabid dogs they are.

This method allowed me and my fellas to do all quests in Cheydinhal and to my surprise even all quests in Cropsford.
Sure it took longer, sure we were killed sometimes but we did it.

How the hell does anyone know if you're gonna fight back or not? Today I left a few baby EP players to do their quests, they had some more of their friends turn up, and proceeded to zerg me.

There's no off button in Cyrodiil for pvp, you're there, prepare for it or get out.

    Agreed.

Is it PvP? Yes. But I have seen entire groups of like 20+ "ganking" in towns. The other day in a campaign an alliance (won't name any) had two keeps... TWO... just two of the three tri-keeps near the scroll temples, and yet there alliance was farming questers in a town on the opposite side of the map. They could have earned more AP defending the keeps they just lost. And no the alliance did not lose all their keeps a long time ago before I entered, they lost them while I was PvPing in that campaign.

Also can you call it fair when you have players hiding inside buildings waiting for you to enter the door to turn in your quest and jump you... taking advantage of the fact that your character spawned before you get out of the black/loading screen. You enter a building and spawn into the building at half health or dead. That isn't PvP, that's being a a-hole. I mean I get it, I am a PvPer, if I am in a town and get ganked… so be it. Heck during this event I have been attacked, some worked... some failed... goes with PvP but to camp a door and wait for people to spawn is just messed up imo. They don't have much of a chance to defend.

You know it's kind of funny. You see posts all the time about "PvP is dying" and all of this stuff and yet so many players during this event and Midyear jump into PvP that ZOS has to open new campaigns to handle the traffic. Server lag is a duh and plays a part but I bet actions like I have heard and seen happening these few days don't help at all.

And mentality like that will cause Cyro to be empty once again for months till the next event happens all because of ppl thinking like you do, I still remember when I was doing PvE quests in Cyro and fishing for master angler how many times people said: PvDoor when there was no event held in cyrodil.

So let me get this straight... Forums light up when NBs get a nerf coz they're dirty gankers (amongst other things), they don't fight fair etc... Apart from a lot of NB players, most agree.

Event happens, and it's fine to gank the PvE crowd repeatedly when they try to hand in quests?

Seems to be a double standard here as to the application of sportsmanship and fair play.

Ten Steps to Blend In When Traveling Solo in Cyrodil

    - Watch how the locals behave. Find a tree near town and sit back, relax and watch. Observe how they wait for the next PvE n00b to show up, how loudly they speak in Discord, how they make eye contact, how close they are when they talk to each other… Emulate their behavior. If they are timid and obey line-ups, do so. If they are pushy and loud, be so (within reason).
    - Walk with confidence – as if you have gone the same route dozens of times before.Blend in when you can't.
    - If people stare at you, ignore them as if you're used to getting stares. .
    - Rather than a crafting bag, carry a shopping bag of buff potions to increase stats
-Dress appropriately. It may not be necessary to dress in PvP gear but it may be beneficial.
    - Know the currency well. Fumbling with money and making mistakes is a sure sign of a PvP tourist.
    - Become a regular, even for a couple of days, at the same keep or small Tower. They'll know that you're new but when you say hi like a regular, others won't.
    - Don't be anti social. Join a zerg. There is safety in numbers.

If you're are looking to join the jubilee event in pvp then dont be @#%$* and join vivec cross eyed. Set Sotha Sil as your campaign and head to all the cities. The red owns the whole map but we all know why we are there and are peacefully doing quests along side other factions.

Syria, really? Chasing people around that can't fight back and killing them straightaway is not fighting. You are no "warriors" or "fighters" then, you are war criminals. Maybe you should be a bit more careful with your real world analogies.

Mate we have a "PvP" event where you can get boxes from doing PvE, don't whine, next time make it strictly PvP event so PvE care bears won't cry that somebody distrubs them while they are questing - they simply won't be able to do anything, thus they will not participate in event and won't be disturbed. Simple solution.

Oh poor pvers... Almost the whole game is based on pve content, devs decide to create an event in Cyro just for one week and we got plenty of people crying already.
Funny thing is that probably many of them got those difficult skins to achieve, going through no death runs and stuff, but apparently they can't handle pvp. Truly shows what's the real challenge of this game.
