How will ESO Logs impact my game experience and how does it work exactly?

From what I understand ESO logs allows players to log me and upload my log to the website without my permission. Then other people can view my logs to ascertain my level of performance but I do have the option to hide it?

How does this work in the raiding scene? I imagine people will expect logs to be public and review them? I had a friend mention that in WoW it's a big concern and a lot of addons monitor your scores to present them to pug groups etc.

How do you guys feel about this and do I understand it correctly?

I can only speak for my specific team that I lead.

Yes, anyone can upload a log to the website. The uploader has to option to make it public or private. If you are on a public log that you did not upload, you would need to sign up on the website and claim your character name by uploading a log yourself. You can then set yourself as Anonymous on all logs where you are a member. Otherwise, you can also contact the website creator @Kihra.

As for how the raiding scene works, no, I do not anticipate people asking for your public logs in order to apply for a raid team. I do not expect the application process to change due to the introduction of logs. However, raid leads are likely to use these logs on their existing teams to figure out what can be improved and who is not performing up to standards. This sort of scrutiny is already upheld on most teams via the use of Combat Metrics, Hodor Reflexes, and reviewing streams. These logs will provide more detail than what is currently provided.

If a team leader is asking to see your logs, that's probably the same team leader that already asks for combat metrics screenshots, or asks for everyone to post their dps to chat after each fight already. In my opinion, this won't change how that already works. If people don't care to demand your dps and proof (combat metrics screenshots) already, I don't think they will care about your logs either.
