What do you guys think of the new set Tooth of Lokkestiiz

Tooth of Lokkestiiz – Medium – Stamina DPS
2 – Adds 129 Weapon Damage
3 – Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon, Trial, and Arena Monsters by 5%.
4 – Adds 129 Weapon Damage
5 – When you activate a synergy, gain Major Slayer for 15 seconds, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial monsters by 15%.

Will this set promote more then tanks using synergies? Will stamina dps slot trapping webs for each other or damage morph of bone shield? Or will this set end up like alkoash not being using by stamina dps as a synergy set?

I'm thinking this will be a cool set for Necro Tanks. If they can activate their own synergy, they should be able to have really nice uptime on this set bonus.

Otherwise, I could see something like Advancing+Tooth+Velidreth being a nice setup for Stam DPS.

    516 Weapon Damage
    3,666 Weapon Critical
    20% Damage

    Thats not too bad!

In 4 mans, I don't mind running 1 DPS set to boost up the group damage. Just not in DLC Vets.

Maybe in some Normal Trials too.

Definitely not on the harder content though.

Yeah, that would make much more sense. Especially since I use low cost Ultimates with lots of Ultimate Regen.

I think it's very viable. I am just wondering if we have enough synergies for it really shine. It's a bit of a pity necro self synergy is magicka damage.

With a 30s Synergy cooldown, it would have a 50% uptime if a synergy could be popped on CD. I thinking of how to best time that. I usually run my StamDK (I know, they aren't great, but I love mine! lol), and i'm thinking since my rotation ends with rearming trap before switching to my back bar to start over my rotation, that would be the best time to pop a synergy to get the most out of that extra 15% damage while reapplying AoEs and DoTs. Maybe even saving ultimate for that moment as well.

Could be an interesting dynamic if I can guarantee a synergy every time I need it.

*I really wish console was given access to the PTS, i'd love to dig into this stuff*

So far i am not seeing myself using it but i have to see how it really performs when running dungeons and trials, beeing dependent of grabbing a synergy is what i dont like.
It might work very well in a group of friends where people talk about what to wear to get the max out of their gears. If you pug and have to compete with other stams for the synergies it gets bad.

So lack of synergies in game is what hinders this set?

In a trial setting with good players, synergies are easily gotten so itll help the top tier players more than the average player whom are better off wearing Relequien, War Machine or even VO in some cases.

The question is, whether this set will be better in trials than a mix of DDs wearing Relequen and DDs running Machine / Master Architect to buff the former ones.

Even though they're both Minor Slayer sets? A wasted 3pc bonus feels unpleasant.

My goal is a to have a berserk type tank. Something that bleeds but gives other pain too and takes the heavies of hits with bound aegis.

    Yes.

You get close to 60% Major Slayer uptime *just* from the single Shard synergy provided by the new Trial Dummy.

In an actual raid with multiple synergies rolling you should be able to easily achieve 90%+ uptime, probably close to 100%.

It looks like it's stronger than AY pretty much across the board and it removes the requirement for only using 3 skills at a time on the backbar because there's not a huge difference between front/back stats. Only time you *need* to be on your frontbar is to pop a synergy.

I thought you have a 15 second cooldown between when you can use a Synergy. Wouldn't that be a 50% up time on the Target dummy? 15 Duration, with a 15 second cooldown?

It sounds delicious no? I been wondering if necro dps could go for it. Also do note that alkoash proc has no cooldown. If you had a enough synergies in gameplay you could a be a monster.

The point of tooth is to get dps wearing alkosh and to push tanks to run the new heavy armor set that grants minor courage

    @BattleAxe

This is Alkosh body + Tooth of Lokkeblahblah on a stamden. Obviously DPS is inflated a bit because of pet crits. Alkosh uptime is 38% just from the single synergy generated by the trial dummy.

It doesn't work out like that in practice, though. Like over an infinitely long parse it would likely approach 50% but because of timing it usually ends up higher than that (55-65% in most of the parses I've done).

I'd avoid using that Target Dummy currently. It is quite bugged. There are reports of 200k DPS parses on that thing by a MagDK. Hitting for a max of 172k Molten Whip.

Any group worth their salt (orbs every 20 seconds) will already get 75% uptime on this set. One more synergy and uptimes close to 100% are very real. 100% Major Slayer uptime is pretty darn good. I can see tanks/healers fitting another synergy on their bars for this set.

And Alkosh on DDs? Just let it go, Alkosh is a DPS loss.
Tank in new heavy set? Show me a set so good healers will run instead of Olorime.

Relequen/Lokkestiiz seems to be the future.
