Ghost Horse 3000 crowns, overpriced or a good price?

I'm entirely okay with a game having microtransactions, but there's nothing micro about this price. Also, the horse uses the new awful model like all the recently released horses. Also also, it's a lot less transparent and a lot more, um, garish than I like for something that's supposed to be a ghost - which is probably the engine problem, but still. All in all, no, I don't consider it a good buy. Your mileage may vary, of course.

For me, the Bloodshadow Wraith Steed looks a lot more ghostly... and it comes with a game expansion as a bonus. :p

It's a bad marketing tactic. Only a few players that have taken the placebo of 'thinking' that these mounts or almost everything besides the dlc, well most of the dlc it seems, is worth anything have dove into participating in Crown store purchases. Even the new Crown Crates is a total ripoff and was proven to be true in a youtube video with $100 to spend on them as evidence. If you lower the prices, more people will buy them, if you keep more items in the store, which there should be no reason why they couldn't expand server storage at this point after all of the profits, then they will collect more profits over time. As an IT professional with years of experience in a corporate environment, too many companies are hellbent on gaining max profits in the short-term versus the long term. When it's the long-term that will yield more profits. There is no reason why they couldn't expand server storage to have more items available, bring back mounts that haven't been in the store for the past several years. It is clear it is marketed towards wanting players to get a subscription, but after making these changes to the Crown Store, they can easily add features and services that can still make ESO+ worth buying.

I stopped playing ESO for a long period of time, because there are so many other games that are great and provide dlc at a reasonable price. The ONLY reason I came back was for some of the expansions that I recently downloaded. I don't know why it's so hard to change and make items more affordable. It is code in cyberspace, nothing more. Yes I am aware that programmers need to be paid and all parties involved in their creations, but when you are expecting over %1000 profits and will market accordingly, you are no longer catering to players or your customers, you are catering to the corporate machine.

I want to see sales figures, I want to see numbers, I want to see global market sales, and I want to see those numbers over time, and I am willing to bet that hardly anyone is indulging into this madness.

Sigh. I find it hard to believe as a business owner, that a company like ZOS and their parent company mind you, are looking at their data, notice that the current pricing is failing and continue on as if doing the same thing over and over will yield different results.

I'm glad they do this and hope they continue to do so as it just highlights that even without crown crates folks still would complain about the crown store prices and all the hubbub about crates targeting addiction is nothing more than smoke and mirrors to cover up players wanting to spend the bare minimum and everything should cost 1k crowns.

Mounts used to be under 2000 crowns. Some of the horses were under 1000! Pets were 400 crowns. Cosmetics cost less than the DLC except in some fancy cases. Those were acceptable prices for digital goods. A sub crown allowance for a month could buy a mount and a pet, or a fancier mount. Now it takes 2 months sub to get 1 mount, IF it's available for direct purchase. It takes a month sub to get a single outfit slot for a single character. Crown prices have risen substantially and for no obvious reasons other than "because we can".

These are microtransactions, of digital goods, which take little time to produce, and have very little development cost other than the dev's salary and server space. To charge such high amounts is something customers SHOULD question. It's why crowns exist: it's a level of separation between what you get and what you pay. Some companies have done away with fake currency to which I say good riddance (though I do the real cost analysis anyway, some don't). I just wish ZOS would go back to the early days of the crown store where the prices actually reflected the content.

You are absolutely objectively correct...so basically good luck trying to "logic and reason" with 90% of the people on these forums. They will completely miss the point you are making and screech about how it's their money and they will spend however they want. They don't want you pointing out things that would actually save them money and be positive for everyone because there is typically no self-awareness or foresight involved. It's mindless impulse buying and I imagine a good portion of the original crowd has moved onto other games so the recruits are possibly the majority now. If you play Xbox NA, shoot me a PM on here and maybe we can run a dungeon or 3.

The same can be said of a lot of things, like drinks in a bar or first-class seats on a plane or "higher-end" status cars. But people pay the high price regardless.

A fool and his money is soon parted.

Yes, it's part of Summerset Collectors Edition.

In my opinion the mount prices keep creeping higher for a copy and paste reskin. Now the "super awesome oh-my-gawd" thing is transparent ghost mounts which I think are especially lazy. *Intern taps opacity slider.* BOOM! New mount!
