Leveling enchanting - is it supposed to be so slow.

Was going to put in a customer support ticket then thought it better to ask here first.. Does enchanting seem to be the slowest skill to level?

Here is an example... Alchemy - when crafting new potions, I can get 12k xp per pot created. Yet, when I'm creating a new enchant, I'm lucky to get 100xp and about the same when I deconstruct it. And let's not start on about how easy provisioning is to level ;p

I know there are different level runes.. but I'm using the highest potency runes that I have/can use for my current skill level and when i compare progress to other crafting skills, I have this nagging feeling that I'm doing something wrong..

Sounds frustrating G. I haven't gone very far with it..I will say though that I know for a fact - the amount of exp you get for deconstructing your OWN creations is super low. You get much more for deconning items from other sources for all the other crafts, so probs the same for Ench.

I hope you get some good suggestions in this thread!

It's a little misleading to compare Provisioning and Alchemy, though, since those two have NO deconstruction option, so ALL the exp you earn has to come from actual ~creation~.

Like the other crafts, Enchanting derives the most bang for your buck by Deconstructing someone ELSE's trinkets... that said, my blacksmith and clothier are around 12 skill and my woodworker around 15 and yet my enchanter is stalled around skill level 8 and that's using an alt to "leapfrog" ---- Character A crafts, Character B deconstructs it.

Considering the massive inventory requirements of enchanting, and the limited spawns, training up this skill has been a major chore.

Level 19 blacksmithing. Make daggers, trade daggers with other blacksmiths to level up through deconstruction.

    Same thing with enchanting.

Make glyphs, trade 1 to 1 with another enchanter to deconstruct.

Or, if you have no other option, you can sell your Glyphs to vendors and buy theirs. Not efficient, but it's an option.

Correct, you need to deconstruct enchants to get the most exp. Its also best to deconstruct higher quality levels. Deconstructing normal quality (white) provides very little exp.

Scan your guild stores for cheap greens, blues and purps.

Trading glyphs is the best way to level it. In my experience deconstructing purples gives 5k exp if they are crafted by someone else.

After reading all the threads about the nightmare that is enchanting I have resigned myself to having an Enchanting Bank Alt. I even tried to name him Enchanting Bank Alt. Get this - that name was already taken. Hahahahaha!

So my main crafter creates no glyphs - none.

The alt creates the glyphs and puts them in the bank. Main crafter blows them up. The alt has gotten to level 5 because all the runes were new and untranslated so the exp went up fast. So I've been able to put some points in the hireling and potency upgrade.

This seems to be working better than creating glyphs and then deconstructing them all on the same character.

Guys, if you are creating and deconstructing your created Glyphs, you're doing it wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with enchanting.

Now rather than just swoop in say that and leave, I've tried to be helpful and I've created a thread about this very subject, I think it can help alot of you, who are stuck and frustrated with enchanting.

So please go take a look and leave any feedback/questions and i'll do my best to help you out.
