You agreed to play an 18+ game when you e-signed the TOS, just like all us other racially biased, murdering for gold, drunken and skooma addled Tamriellians.

Right? It's not like I am asking for this in a kid's game. Why does it have to he that dark or terrible?

Because its already dark and terrible in the lore. The concept of addiction by biological dependency is not something to take lightheartedly

Yeah.... it's not really something to laugh at and go away. It's hard to say what can trigger an addictive response. I don't see that an M rating should give a game a pass on destructive behavior.

Ultimately it wouldn't work because people with sticks up their butts would raise a lot of protest.

"My children will see this and think drugs are ok!" Well, Mr. and Mrs. Sticks, if your child's primary learning tool for life and the appropriateness of drug use is a video game, I don't think the video game is the problem.

But... we already -had- the Summerset expansion full of high Elves...

    :p;)

    ...

Joking aside, we had some nice skoome related questings back in Khenarthis Roost, and I see no reason why there should not be a few more here and there. But... as mentioned, we -did- have some already, so... I would not put much stake into this, but it ought to be at least a few kitties that overindulged in some "outlaw" places, right?

Not to mention Vvardenfell, where we have to choose whether to help the skooma folks or snitch them out so they can go to prison. Or the Thieves Guild questline, where you have to go save some skooma junkie and bring him home to his mama.

Some folks play games to escape real life, while others prefer games that reflect the realities of life.

Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Lets not normalize addiction. Skooma isnt some mild alcohol with funny side effects. Its a narcotic with serious life ruining results.

If we must have skooma in Elsweyr it needs to be in a dark story

Right. Skooma isn't weed. Skooma is crack. If we see it, it needs to be portrayed appropriately.

This. Moonsugar is basically Tamriel’s equivalent of “soft,” relatively harmless drugs, like weed. Skooma ruins lives. I’d be down with seeing some cheerful cats who have been enjoying moonsugar-infused sweet rolls, but that’s it.

Fine. Moon Sugar addicts or whatever.

Why do you sound like you really want to see Drugs and Narcotics in the game.

I'm going to keep saying this in every thread that pops up about it. Skooma is much worse than everyone assumes. To a Khajiit, Skooma is a highly addictive substance that plays havoc on their bodies and minds. To all the other Races, Skooma is a lethal Narcotic that's practically toxic. If you're a Human or Elf Skooma will kill you.

Yet, no one bats an eye when it comes to Hist Sap (which in lore can and often has been seen as an addictive hallucinate that is extremely lethal to ingest to all races not Argonians - but not if inhaled as an incense / smoke) cause "Argonian" Religious practice... The Moon-Sugar debate would die quickly if lore labeled it as a religious practice tool... oh wait, it is. Blame the Dunmer for skooma - they the cartel lords looking to make a buck... er coin.

You just solved a mystery for me!!!!
I always questioned why Kahjit Skooma Bubblers are obviously Dunmer in design/style. This explains it!
They don't look Kahjit at all.

Addicted NPCs have a higher chance of dropping the Khajit Skooma Bubbler housing item. That's really all there is to it.
