Can't change home campaign

So I have an EP character whose home campaign is Bloodthorn and I rerolled AD yesterday. I just hit 10 and I went to try and change my home campaign to Voldendrung (so I can play with my guild) and after pressing accept on the dialogue box to confirm changing my home campaign nothing happens. The house icon is still next to Bloodthorn and it will only let me enter bloodthorn, not Volendrung.

I'm having the same issue on AD when trying to switch from Dawnbreaker. I can't even change my guest campaign now.

I am having the same issue as Daggerfall Covenant. I set my guest campaign to pvp for awhile my guild decided on which campaign to pick. Now I am unable to set a home campaign and pvp with my guild. My guild has been doing a lot of pvp nights and events and here I am unable to join them.

I have submitted a few tickets in game and a bug report. I usually get a very bad generic response. One response said to make sure I was level 10 and that I click set home campaign. Really? You don't say, thanks captain obvious ZOS generic response.

I really hope this issue is addressed soon.

Well I might be getting somewhere. After begging support I got this response in an email.
I am escalating this to an agent who will be able to hopefully help you further!

Hopefully they can do something. My guess is many people are having this issue and they do not have a fix yet.

I thought once chosen you couldnt change your home campaign till it was finished and i think for guest campaign you had to wait 24 hours. Could be wrong tho so dont quote me ;)

You are partially correct. After setting a home campaign once you can change it after 24 hours using some alliance points. This doesn't come into play though since no home campaign has ever been chosen.

I suffer from this same bug, but I think I have discovered a possible reason and a possible workaround.

I have several storage/crafter alts in various alliances that hasn't leveled at all, and when I logged on one of those (in Ebonheart Pact) I noticed she had a whole pile of Cyrodiil buffs: emperor, keeps etc.
This was despite being level 3!
When I looked at the alliance war window, I saw that my little level 3 bank alt had a home campaign. I believe this is the original bug: characters under level 10 erroneously get a home campaign selected.

But since you can't have characters in more than one Alliance in one Campaign, this ment my level 3 bank alt was blocking all non EB characters from choosing that campaign!

Possible workaround: Delete the alt that is blocking access to that campaign. OR level the alt to level 10 so it can get into Cyrodiil and switch their campaign. I'm working on the second option now, and I'll report the results.

Suggestion for Zenimax: A more verbose error message when trying to set a HOME or GUEST campaign to a campgain where the same account already got characters on another Alliance, instead of it just silently failing.

EDIT 140411: I've moved one character out of a blocked campaign and an alt with HOME and GUEST 'UNASSIGNED' could select it as their first HOME campaign. I'm starting working on getting 15,000 points on the one blocking my mains from the campaign most guildies are in tomorrow, but it seems like my theory was correct.

EDIT 140413: Success! By leveling the sub-10s who had a home campaign set to 10, I could then move them to other campaigns, and move my main to the campaign the alts previously had blocked. Everyone, mains and alts, are in their correct campaigns now. w000t!

You are certainly on to something here. I checked last night and my 2 alts who are under level 10 are set to the campaign that I want on my level 22. The real sucky thing is I cannot remove or change that since they are under level 10!

I put in a support ticket with this information and I get a very dumb response from support. They say oh this is an easy fix, you cannot have characters from different alliances in the same campaign and just switch those that are. Really? WTF! It is like they don't even read the ticket!

So, here is what I have and what I think is happening.

I have never set a home campaign on any of my characters. My guild decided on Bloodthorn so I try to set it as my home campaign on my level 22 character and nothing works. I log into my other 2 characters on a different alliance and see they are set to Bloodthorn for no reason at all. So when I click set home campaign for my level 22 did it then set it on my other characters?

    Level 22 Daggerfall Covenant
    Level 4 Aldmeri Dominion
    Level 3 Ebonheart Pact

So in summary you are right on the money Thauredhel. I just wish we could get an actual reply from ZOS letting us know this is indeed an issue and that they are fixing it.

The workaround i detailed in http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/comment/601381/#Comment_601381 has solved it for me. I did get in touch with 2nd line support, and I'm writing to inform them about the original bug, what I suspect caused it, and that a workaround exists.

Let me get this: we level up the alt now in order to change the campaign (for free) and set it to a "dummy" one, so we could get the main on the desired campaign. Ok.. but if, in the future, we want to actually play that alt and choose another campaign, we will be forced to pay the 15000ap, even though we did it now just to bypass a bug in the system. Not really fair, right?

Maybe the temporary workaround should be for them to just update the low-level char home campaign to "unassigned" as it should be.

Have to post to give this one a bump.

I ran into this problem as well. I re-rolled my alts only to find out that their home campaigns were being automatically set, even though they were freshly made. This occurs whether I choose to play or skip though the prison. I was able to select my home campaign without incident only when all opposing faction alts were deleted.

I also had no issue when all eight characters were of the same faction. In fact, because they are the same faction, none of the fresh alts have a home campaign set.

Well I am in the process of leveling my alts so I can play the game on my main. Pretty much BS that we can't even get an acknowledgement from support that this is an issue. I don't want reimbursement, added free game time or anything I just want this fixed or at least someone from ZOS to say yes this is an issue that we are working on.

This is an amazing game and I truly love it. There are far less patient people than me and I am afraid that support could be the downfall of this game. Communication is key in customer satisfaction.

Support is not to blame, they have a done a pretty good job. The fault lies with either QA or the programmers, probably both. This is easily the buggiest AAA mmo at launch ever, even somehow beating out Age of Conan.

Hi, folks. If you're having trouble setting your home campaign, please keep in mind that all Campaign changes will cost 15,000 Alliance Points.

If you have the Alliance Points that you need and can't get your home campaign set properly, it may be because you have alt characters below level 10. We're investigating this issue. Currently players with this issue will be able to properly set their home campaign once their alts reach level 10.

@ZOS_TristanK‌ I have read that you can change your campaign at no cost. I made a MISTAKE and chose the wrong campaign. Unfortunately I am not even getting the option to guest in Hopesfire. I can guest in any other campaign but that one.

I respect your opinion but disagree on both. Though support is not to blame on the actual bug they are to blame for the poor support, not reading replies, generic response with specific info that was handed to them.

This is also most certainly not the buggiest AAA mmo launch in my opinion. I am not sure how many you have been a part of but this is one of the better ones.

I am just glad we know this one is finally being looked at.

I have the same issue, it looks like they resolved it in 1.05, but I'm unclear about something. Did you boot all characters level 9 and lower out of the campaigns, or just fixed it to prevent more from entering?

    It is definitely not fixed

Due to crafting progress and full inventories the alts are not delete-able or level-able.
