can you (ZOS) make a rapids pvp passive for Cyro

    I'd love it, but there are people who would struggle with the two flight steps in keeps, haha!

    There should actually be faster movement speed though. I won't even take an alt in there until it's got at least 40% unlocked.

    omg that mount speed is the worst pain point on new characters, especially in pvp, you hit H and are like "what snared me?"

    Major Expedition while riding will have 0 effect.

    Major Expedition ONLY boosts your walking on foot, not on the horse.

    You're talking about Major Galopp I assume?
    If they grant this passive, then Rapids and both morphs become very likely obsolete in Cyro...so no thx

    IMO they should remove major gallop and instead increase mount base speed. This would improve regular questing travel as well as Cyrodiil travel. Also it would remove the boost that zergs currently get with the group boost to maneuver, and lastly it would remove the advantage ppl get with the 'auto-slotting maneuver when mounted' addon which is borderline cheating IMO (if the addon is still a thing).

    I somewhat doubt that. Maneuver is there for retreats and, well, maneuvers. It is still a group boost as well as a useful skill for us solo PvP players when we need to escape (ie a lot). So it´s not useless.

    But I would prefer removing gallop and instead increasing base mounted speed.

    Considering that addon works the same as any other add-on that lets you swap skills and gear any time you aren't in combat, I don't really see how its borderline cheating and those aren't.

    What we need is a proper Mounted skill tree, not this mucking around with "oh, well, you need this one skill from Assault to move fast, and this addon to use it while riding..."

    Now that is unfair. Cyro is not a horse riding simulator, because most of the time you are stuck in combat and can not even mount a horse to ride it.
    Also, most "horses" are not horses.

    Considering that addon works the same as any other add-on that lets you swap skills and gear any time you aren't in combat, I don't really see how its borderline cheating and those aren't.

    They are. ZOS has said as much, they just havent bothered with it. And the skill switch is macro use to get an advantage in PvP which is 100% against ToS. I doubt they´d start banning for it NOW but strange things have happened in the past.

    While mounted, your skill bar swaps to a new one that allows you to slot skills that you can use while mounted. When you dismount, your standard skill bars return. Works like werewolf bars.

    Currently the only thing you could slot would be rapids, but it opens up that design space and solves the issue of needing rapids nearly all the time while mounted and nearly never when on the ground.

    And its definitely true that they haven't bothered with it, given the continued usage of addons that allow players to swap gear and skills when not in combat.

    I also look at how ZOS changed the set Clever Alchemist specifically to make sure that players using addons couldn't abuse the set to gain bonuses they weren't intended to. They changed the set so it doesn't work unless you are in combat, hence bypassing those addons, which only work when you aren't in combat.

    If ZOS' goal is to cut down on automation, I think ZOS would do well to either lock down their API a little better or be more proactive about enforcing their rules on addons.
