Maybe a good compromise would be to add some background audio of children so it sounds like they are the next block over. Of course with the audio glitches you'd be trampling around your private house island and hear kids giggling so maybe not.

All races in eso are infertile including humans. They suffer from very bad radiation after world war 3 which make technology disappear so that the magic was born. This is the only plausible explain :D.

Its for perpetuation of the species. Tamriel is a very dangerous place, especially for those who can not defend themselves.

All babies born are immediately taken to a government facility called Rubber Neck, which floats among the clouds and moves hither and yon. This facility has magical protections that prevent access by any individual not in possession of the Rubber Neck ID. Children are raised in a caring and loving environment until they are 18 years old.

At which time they are kicked out.

They are given a thermos of coffee, one roasted chicken and a ball of twine, put into a hollowed out log, and sent over a waterfall back into the ocean in Tamriel. Ideally they don't allow the paddle to fall out during the drop.

Then they just paddle to shore, which would be ummm ... that way. And they are ready to begin their lives as full grown adult victims... er... citizens of Tamriel.

however I am also aware that the reason we don't is that you can bet your ass there would be some nutters on the forums demanding to be able to kill them.

Children are people to. So it is ok to kill innocent women, man, monkey's, piglets, sheep, lambs but a kid is to far?

I wish we had kids in the game. I would go rampage in the Orphanage making sure there is room for new kids.

Oh, we've had this converstion in the guild of ours and some folks said, if ZOS do bring npc kids in the game, they should do it with poverty, grief, hunger, everything that comes with war and end of the wrold kind of things. Ever cheerful and happy children wouldn't be believable, they said. However, it would be extremely unsettling from them to see sad children.. so they prefer to not have them in the game at all! What the hell? x)
Me though, i would be the happiest human alive if npcs kids were added. I really want to know how education works in different parts of Tamriel. Do they have classes on arcane arts? Do they have schools at all?

As nice as child NPCs would be in ESO, I can totally see why ZoS didn't add them - killing kids in games is frowned upon. And if all being unkillable, they'd make thievery and assassinations even harder, as the little brats would run around and witness everything.

Slightly off topic, but I hope to see them again in TES VI, of each race! Cuteness overload with tiny elves and beast people.

And how hard would it be to make them inkillable and not being able to witness (except maybe make a remark of your actions)

Well, it isn't imho. There are unkillable cats that don't witness also.

Well, it isn't imho. There are unkillable cats that don't witness also.

Like someone said earlier in the thread, it would take a lot of time to create new models for the children, their clothes etc. and also come up with scripts for them to follow in the world as well as add new voice acting (no mute kids I'd hope). They would also behave differently than adult NPCs, so that adds to that.

It wouldn't make much sense though to have children, sentient beings, not witness crimes. How would an animal be able to report them anyway? (Well they do that in Skyrim, I've gotten bounties from even dragons witnessing murders...)

I'm not against having child NPCs, it just seems like a concept that wouldn't work with ESO's crime system. If we go by real world logic, of course. But then again, we would come across with another problem: should a kid's parents be killable? And if not, that would make it very hard to break into houses and steal the goodies (I always kill white NPCs so I won't get a bounty and get a chance to lose my loot). Some people might also find that offensive. Even if they're just digital and fictional people.

There's so many factors that might add up the reason why there are no children in ESO, but at least it doesn't break my immersion. I'm a roleplayer (as in, I take on the role of my characters and my choices in quests are determined by what the character would do), and even seeing other players running around while doing things doesn't break it. But each to our own.

They're off chilling with the Imga in pre-ESO Summerset.
No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

Except the dwemer were not small.

Dwarf is just a nickname used by other races because the dwemer dug deep into nirn. They are elves...tall ones at that.

Maybe players complained about them in Skyrim so it was decided to just keep them out of the game entirely. Just a guess.

You've seen the ground littered with dead NPCs in places like Rawl'Kha and Vulkhel Guard.
Imagine the SJWs petitioning to shut the game down when some 'players' with the ability to be anonymous psychopaths ran rampant and slaughtered crowds of kids in the open world?

Many of us assume that the 'Rated 'M' for Mature' would mean nothing when 'Mom' discovers that Little Susie or Little Johnny was witnessing and/or participating in the rampant annihilation of 'child-NPCs'.

ZOS is making sure that none of you players has to see that.

They just need to make them unattackable.

They are portable chamber pots. Not fixed in place like all the others.

Kids in ESO? Of all the things there are to moan about, this is hardly an issue. The only time the lack of children ever becomes obvious to me is when I hear "the little one ran off with my purse". But that could be a little Bosmer or Bannekin for all I know. The voice doesn't come from a visible NPC, but no-one wonders about that oversight....

I'm still sticking with my theory that the thing the Emperor tried to do with the Amulet Of Kings was 15 years prior to the game, and had the side effect of making everyone in Tamriel infertile. No new children for 15 years means the youngest folks are 15, which the lowest age setting could pass for.
Also, the game is rated M, so children aren't allowed ta act in it. They tried getting Bosmer to play children, but they said it was demeaning.

Well.... I don't like kids. Period. I like them when they get to be viable adults.... I wasn't interested in being a parent, though my daughter and I are really good friends now (50 years later....)

I don't want to deal with kids IRL. And I seriously don't want to deal with kids in a game I play to get away from RL. Skyrim.... HOLY ****.... (yeah, I censored it myself).
