It was clear to me from the daily pop-up announcement as well as the login screen announcement. I'm not sure what ZoS could do in addition to that. I know most people probably blow through those announcements, but when the pop-up was introduced, people actually complained about ZoS efforts to make sure players are informed about deadlines.
Communication is a two-party process: announce and read.

Yes, which is why I said there was no indication from playing the game that the berries would suddenly stop being available.

January-March - Dawnwood
April-June - Luminous
July-September - Onyx
October-December - Pure Snow
I think. I hope they do return next year, and if they don’t then I hope they sell them in the Crown store someday.

What more do you want? There was a popup in the game client that took you to news article. There was a popup announcement when you logged in. How would you present that information so it was clear to you. Do you want the Impressario to sit you down and explain the birds and bees of Indriks? The events were designed for players with a certain level of engagement. The information was there and it was easily accessible from the game client level. You probaly got an e-mail informing you about each event too. Don't go crying that you weren't informed enough if you refused to read anything. ZOS does have problems with clear comunication, but this time that isn't the case.
Yeah, I got 3 of the 4 dawnwood berries, and then, you know, life happens. So now I’m not sure whether I should just destroy those 3 to get them out of my inventory.
Planning to skip the berries from here on. Don’t even care to use the Indrik mounts and don’t need the hassle and the feeling of wasted effort.
EDIT: This is also the only game I have ever played where you have to closely read every news article to have any idea WTF is going on. There was no indication from playing the game that the berries would suddenly stop being available at future events.

I have three of the Dawnwood Berries, Bloom, Budding, and Growth. Logged in today and got my 10th event ticket, now off to the Impresario. Was absolutely gutted, no Dawnwood berries? This is a joke! I can only play the game 4 days a week. Why can't the Impresario sell all berries all the time? So disappointed in this game, 40 event tickets wasted.
I'm off to play Mass Effect Andromeda.

Pretty sure that was mentioned on the login splash during the Jester Festival.

Oh, that was really useful considering that was the very last event of the quarter and the one that I missed. /s
I really can’t understand why people are defending the spotty communication given all the confusion around this system. See teacher comment above. Some people just like to argue for no good reason.

Complaintdesk wrote: »It really would be appropriate for some official response on this question. On numerous occasions in the past ESO has said certain items were available for "A Limited Time", and they have returned to the game, especially mounts. So many players had so much invested into procuring mounts and the items associated with transforming those mounts, it really does not seem nice to leave them hanging with 3 of the 4 berries in their inventory, wondering if they will ever return.
1.) Can we destroy our event tickets, safe with the knowledge that they are useless and will never return?
2.)Can we destroy our remaining berries, safe with the knowledge that they are useless, and we will never be able to transform our Indrik mounts?
It really seems like these questions question deserve some form of official response, considering how much confusion there is on this issue.
