I'll put pen to paper when I'm putting together an idea for a character and theory crafting their build but that's about it.

I only do this when planning a character concept to see if I can actually get it to work in the game. It's a general guideline, and I don't rigidly stick to it as I'm playing the character. I certainly don't update them as the character evolves, so I don't have notes to "keep track of them" in the sense the OP means.

Right now I'm too casual to make good use of any info sheets. Maybe someday.

That's the nice part about being a casual, questy sort who's still trying to grind out CP, has ESO+, and has only three used toons. All my "endgame" gear is the same, and my quest journal does the rest. I detest documenting things and loathe lists :D

I love documenting, and lists. My life would be SO much more difficult without Excel and lists....

I keep notes of all my characters by name, gender, race and class, updating them as they level. Also whether they are magicka, stamina or hybrid and which weapon types they use. That's all in pencil in separate books per account/server, with separately printed zone lists of the rare fish which are ticked off as they catch them, the lists being glued in the books.

It all dates back to my early note-taking and map-making days with text adventures and early CRPGs.

Exactly. I also track writ gold/xp per level, and have an extensive notes section where - well.... whatever doesn't fit somewhere else winds up! Like who's using which mount (I don't dupe mounts), which costume (ditto), which non-combat pet (tritto).... Or who needs to go do something specific tomorrow (not happening right now with all the event stuff.... about evented out here....)

No but I started doing this for people on my friends list. Some of them go and change their @name and then I have no idea who they are...

Some people have filing cabinets of the things.

You know your playing is serious when you go spreadsheet on it.

I've made spreadsheets of my characters for hard decisions like who to delete, or which race/class/role to make my next character. But I don't maintain them. It's just a snapshot.

My mom's like you, scheduled and listed. I'm a chaotic mess, just like my grandmother. I wonder if that urge either a) skips a generation or b) is formed in reaction to dealing with forces of utter chaos.

Listmaking is one of those things I'll never understand, like enjoying cilantro or raiding :D I make lists when I have to, like going to buy something unusual for a recipe. Otherwise, I'm pretty much the same purchases over and over, the same processes, habits and ruts. My mind's hyper-organized, so my outer reality needs a lot of randomness, a feeling of freedom.

    Spreadsheets for inventory management.
Note books for scribbling down stuff whilst playing.
The ESO app has made life gaming on a console much much easier to track most things though. Gawd bless the creator!

    Hps healing sets - Templar
    Twlight remedy - Sorc
    Hanu, kags - Nerco

I only have 7 characters and only 1 set of equipment for each one. Apart from my warden who sometimes does dungeons as a healer and therefore needs to swap in some more group/healing focused skills that each only use 1 build at a time as well - I'm constantly tweaking which skills they use, but if I take one out it's because I've decided to replace it so there's no need to record what I got rid of.

I have occasionally made temporary lists when I'm sorting something out, like when I want to make a new character and try to ensure I don't fall into using the same weapons I always do (if I didn't keep an eye on it I'd have 7 dual wielders) but like I said they're temporary, once I've got it sorted I get rid of the list.

For example right now I'm making a list of what to do with the last 15 furnishing slots in my main house, but once I've filled them I'll delete that one too.

Yes, but it is an in-game addon rather than something that is done outside of the game. This can be done with "Notebook 2018", although I use "Notebook", which was abandoned and I keep up to date for my own use.

I keep a simple Google keep note of which characters have a piece of gear missing or in the wrong trait but that is about it. I don't bother going beyond purple gear with my alts so they are mostly easy to kit out with crafted or bought gear.

At one point when I was still learning the ropes and leveling 4 characters at the same time I kept notes on specific crafting stuff and gear set pieces they needed. Also used a planner app to keep track of crafting research.

I use pen and paper to keep track of the weapon/ armor traits my alts need to learn. I have also spent countless hours comparing sets by doing THE DREADED MATH 👹

Definitely a yes, and definitely via spreadsheets. Couldn’t keep up on PS4 with 20 characters on two servers.

Seriously jealous of the pc add-ons that so greatly improve quality of Tamrielic life.

No I don't. I almost got an app for it, but then realized the day I need to make notes for a game I play is the day I need to quit that game. Games are suppose to be for fun and relaxing, not taxing and worrying about this or that. I don't need to be reminded that in 3 hours from now my horse needs upgrading. I don't need to worry in 4 days and 9 hours and 32 minutes I need to do some new research.

So if I miss many days without doing research or upgrading my horse or collecting mats or what ever, so be it.
