WIngs were fun but we have to adapt. We still have our thumbs after all. In pvp I mostly play stam dk and stam sorc but have done time on all the classes. We have all been nerfed (some more than others) these past years such as templars losing major mending, wardens losing cc on shalks, mag blades losing healing ward effectiveness, sorcs' shield changes and losing cc on frags, and dks power lash changes among other things. A lot of people might not remember but on launch night blades were the most under performing class and dragonknights were the most overperfoming since then night blades have been brought up to par and dragon knights have been the most nerfed class in eso by far. It sucks yea but for me personally i'm looking forward to see what people blame on dk's opness once wings are changed because we are still gonna kill you lol. My point is that to all the dragonknights taking this news pretty tough you have to adapt. It's just like life you can either roll over and quit when things get tough or you can get better.

This change kills DKs main identity skill and will shift balance of PVP to ranged. I mean now every ranged pew-pew knows that he will meet DK so he needs to run certain skills and enchants to counteract DK and think each time he spams reflectables. Now it'll be gone, you may build and min-max for pew-pew without any risk.

It's preliminary. Instead of reflecting projectiles, wings will be mitigating 50% ranged damage (but without cap on number of projectiles).

There was too much crying from Cyrodiil's inhabitants I guess.
Good job on making the class even more boring.

...will shift balance of PVP to ranged...

It's 50% damage reduction vs ranged (or at least projectiles) in a game where 10% is considered noticeable. The projectile limit is removed.

The skill will be strong in 1v1 and when being zerged down by ranged enemies.

I get the class idendity thing, but I don't see this as a nerf with regard to game mechanics.

You are forgetting about people psychology. As soon as wings are clapped majority forgets about you and switches to other target. Now they will continue to shoot no matter what. And question is what's the point in stamDK at all.. fossilize and take flight are probably 2 last things worthwhile.. compare it to stamplar, stamden, stambalde, where is whole pack of class goodies.. and stamsorc has cool passives. So stamDK will be like stamsorc but only worse. At this point I'm starting to thinking to switch to magDK despite being stamina race.

Actually I think dragonknights should keep an open letter to reverse this change, like the one for the woodelfs. Why adapt when people can whine for nerfs and get them. Nerflings really make the game so much more boring. Would be nice to see some buff threads or how do I counter this because I want to learn threads. It use to be like a safari with certain classes knowing which was their prey and which they shouldn't engage. Just getting on your mount was always an adventure because while you were riding you knew some nb was going to attack and you were ready from experience. This game has lost a lot of it's identity tbh but I still love it because I put too much money into it o.o

People of all classes will continue to complain about every thing. Most expect to charge in Cyrodiil and BG's and melt everyone with a single build and if they die it's no fault of their own because skills are broken/OP. Race or class means nothing, as they all complain. Those who continue to adapt will still be the better players, as always.

From a game health perspective, the change makes sense. Wings will still be a powerful defensive tool. The main issue is the fact that the current reflect prevents CC and other negative effects. That aspect is a major contributor to the skills power.

For example, you can cast wings and negate the knockback from flame reach while trying to LoS or run with a relic. That might not be possible with new wings. I hope they also come with some reduction or negation of negative effects from ranged attacks as well, but I not sure how much power that would've give with a full 6 second duration.

I was leveling dk before the news but now i don't feel like investing in him. Reflect is such a fun ability that enhances the combat for everybody. It adds layer. Its fun for dk obviously, but also for the opponent. I like to play with snipe once in a while and fighting dks make it a fun challenge where i need to adapt and think extra. Buffs and passives are nice and all but its the active skills that make a difference in gameplay.

I don't really care if the new wings is going to be stronger or not, it won't be as fun. Sure i can learn to adapt but every nerf takes some unique skill from the game and brings back raw power instead at best. After 5 years this game need more new active abilities not less.

On average over Cyrodiil, projectile based builds do not have higher damage output than melee builds (it's rather the opposite). If you build your stamDK such that it can survive the average melee build, you should be more than fine against the rangers. Mind that you can have better uptime on the new skill. If you get zerged, well, you get zerged.

That being said, there is barely a day in Cyro where I don't envy DKs for their reflect skill, it's so much fun. For them to use, and also for me to trigger my Defensive Rune on them with my own light attack. I'll miss it.

    Finally! someone admitting the Truth!
thank you for the honesty and where all these nerfs started from.

    on topic:
i am not sure how i feel about the wings nerf
(that right now is only a rumer that it will happen, we have no proof yet)
my main is an archer, so obviously i cannot fight against a dragonight that spams wings i get in a fight with.
However, there are certain things i can do to win against them i wont talk about here.
my point is that if i fight a dragonight and he keep spamming wings, i usually just let him go and we both walk away.

but on todays forum people Spam these stupid nerf threads endlessly untill wings is destroyed!
    its horrible!
    it needs to stop!
i dont agree with the wings nerf,
    this crap has to stop!

Depends on how you look at it. Some are on the side that it's actually a buff, some say it's a nerf.
