yes ,there are people who are killing the NPCs on purpose , there was a Templar and that was patroling both sites and was killing them, but i got lucky and got them to hit me before that baboon showed up. He was then yelling in zone chat that he was selling the bites for 10k gold .
Unfortunately , i am on the EU server , and its going to take a while intill i get the perk to turn others , sorry:| But the rumor on my server is that the NPCs will be spawning today as well , so go there at night and see if you get lucky
