I think this has been the best launch I've seen lately with games. Yes there are few issues which is might I say expected. Comparing to some other games that was about alpha stage when launched because rushed by publisher.

Todays world it is impossible to launch game without issues in it compared to old days when everything was much more simple.

I'm really sorry you have been stuck on the main quest since the 7th.

Also a lot of the issues were known and pointed out in BETA like quest mobs not spawning, but it never got fixed.

I agree with you on this one completely. I participated in several betas and I can remember tediously reporting bugs as I found them, only to come back in the next beta and have to report the same bugs.

I started to wonder if I was wasting my time.

You haven't played an mmo launch before have you. This is industry normal.

Well, if a company wants to have a successful sub game and not a future FTP one then this better stop being the completely unacceptable 'industry norm' PTQ.

I love this game but I've paid for a box and will be paying for a sub to continue beta testing the same problems that were in the game back in February. Things are slowly improving but this game was clearly pushed out the door ready or not to a marketing not a programming schedule. And it was not close to being ready.

Well it highlights the fact that you are saying that the game should be in beta and you imply that the game is buggy for everyone when in fact the vast majority are playing the game with little issue and never come to these forums. I don't want to argue with you, I'm not that type of person. I was just saying that I don't have those issues.

Ive been playing MMOs since DAoC and this is one of the best, most stable launches I've seen. I've had one quest bugged and that's been fixed. Not hearing any problems from any of my guild either apart from the P v P one (and we resolve that by running in small groups). Maybe your experience isn't the norm?

I don't understand why that is a problem.

It is unusual for them to preauth the entire amount just to verify the card.
Yup usually preauths are $1.00, that's kind of an industry standard for any industry that does preauths. If they were going to do more than this they should have spelled that out in the subscription details. This wasn't an illegal move like some claim, or any type of scam, but it did inconvenience some customers, and should have been avoided.

The $15 is still tied up by my bank. Its annoying seeing it on there heh. My bank says they have to leave it for 7 days.

Which is so odd that there is so much variation in banks. Mine was back in 3 hours. That part isn't on Zenimax, it's just odd to me that it isn't standard between banks.

That's pretty much hyperbole. You may be experiencing more bugs than average, they may be experiencing less. I think I've experienced about the average which is 3 quests that I fixed for myself by changing instances, and 1 quest that was fubar. That's hardly everything beyond the character select. Another "bug" that I had wasn't with the core program but with an addon I had installed making the core program act badly.

I love the Elder Scrolls series but this game is killing it for me!

There are so many bugs. This game should still be in Beta stages.
Let me list just a "few" bugs that I've noticed so far:
    1. Falling through the world, just casually going on your way doing a quest or something, then unexpectedly fall through the world and be in an endless fall, so you have to /stuck which kills you and damages your gear
    2. Walking through steps.
    3. The countless quests you can't finish because NPCs are not spawning.
    4. Invisible walls in PVP
    5. Game spontaneously crashing, especially in PVP! the game crashes on average every 20 minutes
    6. Making an unusable Siege Weapon in PVP! (Set up a Firepot Trebuchet, only to find out that it is not usable. Not only did I waste gold on buying it, but it also eats up one of the 20 siege weapon slots).
    7. Getting off a horse to collect a resource by pressing E and getting back on the horse without gathering the resource.
    8. When people mail you Crafting resources, they don't automatically stack in your inventory, and take up more space.
    9. When the early access finished, the game gave me an error saying that my login details were wrong (when the error message should have been "You have no time left on your account" or something like that), but WE GOT 30 DAYS with the purchase of the GAME!!! (Money grabbing...))

This game is clearly not a finished product! When you buy a game (and pay monthly for it, you are supposed to enjoy yourself, not get frustrated with game crashes and bugs!

For the love of god take your ridilin

If you've been in alot of launches for MMOs, then you come to take a relaxed approach to things like this. It's not as if the bugs are catastrophic.

If I do recall, WoW was actually completely down for around 6-7 days on release because they had an issue with the login servers. I wonder how many people remember that now.

I (hopefully) intend to be playing TESO for quite some time. So this intial month of getting the house in order will be a distant memory in a months time.

wait until you have been stuck for a week and unable to progress in anyway in the game before flaming others for voicing their opinion about the state of the game at the moment.

I've been playing mmos for 15 years now, and never have i resorted to asking for a refund before now. Thats how broken this game is for me. I find it sad, so much to love in this game, but at this moment there is too much to hate.

I agree but at the same time find this incredibly disheartening. The bar for quality has now been set so low by bad launch after bad launch, that people have come to see a poor/faulty/buggy product as the industry norm.

I understand why people are having problems. What I do not understand is why my experience of EOS is super positive, few bugs here and there but nothing compared to other mmo launches. Look at the original Final Fantasy XIV launch, WoW beta and Star Wars: The Old Republic. World of Warcraft was insanely buggy at launch and don't get me start on SimCity possibly the worst launch in gaming history. I've only bumped into 3-4 quest bugs from 1-17 and they are working on a number of buggy quests in the next patch. This launch is one of the best gaming launches I have seen. Yeah.. Few buggy quests, but I've not seen anything game breaking.

One of the smoothest launches I've been part of, and I've had my fair share.
I've had a few falling through the map, or quest objects not interact able.
Made a ticket, and moved on doing something else, exploring mostly.
In both cases my problem was solved.
I don't expect much from a MMO's first month of life in terms of reliability or performance. What does tick me off is bugs being untreated for a year or exploits tacitly approved by GM's.

Well that's incredibly short sighted. I've always tried to help people on these forums as my posts will indicate. No one is apologist here, I just don't like it when people vent on here implying that because they have a problem that the entire realm as it which simply isn't true. I've had my share of issues with the game but in my opinion, this has been a very smooth launch.

We all sympathise with people having issues and if I could help I would. I am really sorry for all your issues, wont post again.

Good luck with your issues and may Sheogorth be banished from your computers.

    Don't forget :
    - the sky fall bug, where you are teleported somewhere in the sky in an infinte fall and /stuck is no use
    - entire areas subject to rollbacks
    - the bank reset bug, which reset the bank to 60 slots move/remove the extra items, and lose all/most gold stored.
    - the bank erase bug, worse, it deletes all items from the bank and reset it to 60 slots, and lose all/most gold stored.
    - ultimate pool reset
    - the gold sellers spamming since early access, if not beta.
    - and the donjon chests ninja looters

I also heard of characters being deleted by a bug... not sure about it, but jeez !

And I don't know what to think when CSR are trying to troll me with their roleplayed answers.

In my gaming experience I saw many bugs got fixed. Here a few examples:
    1) The MOST annoying bug with dismounting all the time (especially frustrating in Cyrodiil, where you have to travel so much)
    2) Some bugs that blocked your Main Quest progress like Daughter of Giants quest bug (when Lyris didn't crushed that pile of rocks so you can pass)
    3) Some loot bugs like when you were getting high-level Provisioning recipes from containers with no reason
    4) Bugs in minor quests like in Auridon (AD) when you have to protect priestess from attacks.

I see them working on problems. Maybe not as fast as it is possible from our point of view, but we are not developers to decide whether it's fast or not.

I don't experiencing game crashes. I've heard that problem affects only Mac users.

I've never felt through the ground and got stuck in the wall only once.

The most annoying bug for me now is Cyrodiil Loading Screen of Painful Death and Black Sorrow.

The one constant with MMO launches that always fascinates me is the number of issues some people have with the game while I have practically none. It's the same with support tickets, people complain that they've sent multiple tickets and got no response, while I've probably only sent 3 or 4 tickets in total over 15 years of playing MMOs and they've always been resolved quickly and efficiently. I do think the way you word a ticket is hugely important and given the way some people complain on the forums it's not surprising if they adopt the same angry cussing when completing tickets and then get put to the back of the line.

In this case I have had one quest that failed because it wouldn't recognise that I had met a particular NPC, so I abandoned it, took it again, and it worked just fine. I have re-logged once because my character stopped responding fully, and there was a brief hiatus logging into the game the other night when the one-time password issue arose after the server came back up. I'm on the Euro server and have, incidentally, only seen one gold selling announcement.

Those few points aside, the launch has been very smooth for me, and it's been a joy not to have been caught up in log-in queues like with most other launches. I don't PvP so some of the OP's problems therefore wouldn't apply to me, but as has been said earlier, it does sound to me like most of his problems are related to his connection so that's something I'd investigate if I were him.

Your pre-auth was most likely cancelled by Zenimaxs bank not yours. A pre-auth should either be cancelled by the people who made it or drop off naturally. Your own bank will rarely delete them as they an still be claimed up to a week after they are placed, if your bank delete it and it is then claimed then they will have to pay it themselves which they aren't likely to want to do.
