Somnilux, look to Mount & Blade. If an small sutdio managed to make good(and realistic) quality animations for spear combat on foot and ranged, why Bugthesda will not be able?

Ironic how you actually expect something of them while thinking so badly of them.

Anyways in my opinion the whole spear thing would come with a huge problem, spears have a wider range then dual wield or two handed just imaging how pvp would go crazy and basically forcing them to play this to be viable. PvE wise I don't see any need or benefit of adding that to the game.

Just would break things most likely all over again.

Even knifes are pvp viable. Also, see dark souls. Polearms are viable on pvp and pve(except 3)

About "thinking so badly", i honestly think that Bethesda is an average company. Was one of the best in Morrowind era, but now, produce games that are good, but not good as on past

I stopped reading at the back and forth

In general, what is keeping eso going is additions to the game. Cycles of adding two dungeons are not that large of a pull. Warden, jewelry, housing, necromancer, battle grounds have all had big impacts on player base (regardless how you feel)

We have seen two new classes and even though I prefer mag toons over stam on every class, it’s time to start looking at something for stam.

I’m not going to discuss so much around specific skills, but new classes, or weapons, either need to do something new or a hybrid.

Devs even have the option of
    2 hand pole arm
    Polearm shield

Adding two weapon sets would be enough for both pve and pvp side to get excited around a whole new chapter release and keep people addicting in game (farming) etc.

    Overall, idea is solid

...unless you balanced that extra range with something else, right? Like... say... a drawback at -close- range, to portray the awkwardness of a long polearm at knife range?
Yeah, been there, posted that in my weapon ideas... ;)

I would say... more then two. At the very least one set for warrior type characters, one for rogue type characters, and one for magica characters. Better two each, for varietee, or some for hybrid characters, or that any characters could find useful... and maybe a little bit for the old weapon skill lines as well...
...at least those were the thoughts behind my aforementioned suggestions. ;)
