That is true: MagDens are decent MA DPSers and they are perfectly viable for endgame content. But even in that role, they are completely overshadowed by MagBlades due to them having higher DPS. I'm pretty sure that the majority of raid leaders prefer a MagBlade instead.

The Bear also took quite a nerf (30% Damage nerf), bringing MagDens down even further. This one made no sense at all really...

And lastly, the Bear also is the only Ultimate in the game that requires both Ulti slots, which limits the Warden in both PvE and PvP. No Destro Ulti, no defensive Ulti,... (Personally I think that the Bear should be an exception due to being an Ultimate, and ZOS should allow us to single bar it)

Well, Wardens complained they had to use the bear to be useful at all in PvE, and thats why ZoS nerfed the bear and buff warden without it...

But in the end, nothing has changed: Wardens still need the bear and MagDens are still at the bottom. ZOS really has a sense of humor...

Well I'd say MagDK are bottom, they have to melee and can't beat any other melee class except maybe in survivability.
Magdens can hit similar numbers, in terms of DPS, to other classes on a dummy. The real issue is Magplar's and Magblades can both be more mobile while maintaining that DPS and with better survivability.

Magden's have literally one offering: a fully ranged major slayer buff, minor toughness is either better provided by a Warden healer or just not needed at all.

Magplar's rez quicker (a huge boon to progression groups) and provide minor sorcery.
Magsorc's offer a great synergy meaning they can normally get one place in a trial to maximise Alkosh uptimes.
Magblade's get their own minor berserk meaning that they can hit the best dps while mobile (re: vCR and vAS) and can provide major slayer at melee range which is generally where you want it anyway.
