Proposition : New staff for New necromancer

Hey everyone !

Looking back the wonderful class of the Necromancer in teso, I noticed smth : indeed the DK has his fire staff for his fire theme and the sorc his lightning staff for his... lightning theme, BUT, as a necromancer, if u use a fire or lightning staff, u will see red or bleu attacks, I mean for example, if u use an Elemantal Rage or an Elemental Blockade, it will be red or bleu ! However, to my mind the necrotic theme is darker, more... creepy if I can say. So I feel like smth is brock if u summon a squeleton and behind, you use a fire AoE...
To conclude I wonder if Zenimax may create a new staff specially for the necro which will be like a kind of "dark staff" with black AoE according to a necrotic theme...

And you, what's your opinion ?

Poison or disease themed staff with dark green effects would be great. Could give necromancer passive allowing this to scale off his magicka related cp and magicka/spell power if its the higher stats than his stam/weap power.

Nah just have a passive that makes the ice staff a damage staff rather than a defence staff. That way the Ice staff can be used as is for tanks, and also a unique dps for necro (cold fire).

The ice staff as is, is pretty under utilized, this would make it something you'd want to farm, and make some of these new ice dps sets pretty useful.

If that is the easiest way to add a mew magicka weapon then sure!

I just wold like a new weapon.

I have only been playing 10 months but I wonder what the people playing for years just using a destruction staff are doing right now to still feel engaged with combat.

The ice staff is NOT under-utilized...its just utilized by tanks on the back bar because its a tanking staff(as its currently set up) Stop trying to take away the only other tanking weapon we have without giving us something to replace it with.

Actually that woulf fit more with the sorcerors dark and daedric magics.

Necromancers traditionally have those cyan "coldfire" staves we see for NPCs, but never get to have ourselves... which is vexing... why do you think I have wanted more options there for ages?

I'd like to see more variety of Staff as well as a Spear skill line, Spear+Shield Skill line, and others. Then again I'd rather see them add Alteration, Illusion, Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration, Mysticism, etc than new staves. =D

Other fun skill options would include things like a Dwemer Blunderbuss (maybe only as an ulti) and Khajiiti Kung FU!!!

TBH they don't even need a new staff just a cosmetic set of mods or enchants that changes the colour palette of the existing staff attacks.

The lack of variety for magicka weapons does deserve attention for sure.

Personally, I would like to see ZOS add in a stamina based staff line and magicka based one handed/shield, dual wield, two hander, and bow lines.

Disease damage stuff would be kinda interesting....but can we please rename it in corruption or corrode damage....desease damage sounds so weird and doesnt make all that much sense

There are too many Equip items that drop at random already, if they are gonna add a new weapon type, they had better make some sort of Organized Prize Loot system so it can be quickly integrated... Tired of the grind.

A "void staff" that does magic damage would be cool.

Unfortunately it would be weaker than other options unless a new status effect is created for magic damage.

Poison/Disease are physical damage type, not magical damage type.
Maybe add a new damage type ? "curse" ?

Destruction and Restoration ARE the staves.
And the rest... well, they kinda divided that among classes and guilds I guess...
Thats how they decided to depict those in ESO.
...
...and since we cannot expect them to rewrite their whole system, we can only make suggestions about what they could -add- to the existing system...

The extra vexing thing is... NPCs -have- those!!!

And I get a severe case of staff-envy whenever I see them! I sooooo want that as destroy staff for my goth librarian character!

It could be an destro staff that does less damage, but as pure oblivion damage type? (which also would not have any CP to buff it, but on the other hand, also no CP resistance against it so...)

Agreed!

I too would love to see ice return to DPS, and have some other staff line entirely for tanking, taunting, debuffing and support magic (aka, magic shields for everyone! Since that would fit with a tanky theme I guess...)!
Alteration staff? Mysticism staff? Whatever... just make a clear distinction between "destruction magic" which should be DPS-y only, and some other magic for tanking!
Such a staff could for example have mages guild / psijic orcer style effects, blue and gold mystic motes and such?

daedric damage staff i would say it will be cold flame that we saw in molagbal in coldharbor
