Or you can just not use the pet. Templars have no % heal and they can tank just fine. I tanked on a magicka DD attributes and CP sorc without the pet vMoS and vFL hard modes. no need to make tank sorcs BiS (and I still believe sorcs are master class to be honest)

As for the Clannfear, I'd like it to have a unique interaction with Bound Armor as in activating Bound Armor in proximity to the Clannfear causes a Guard-like tether to appear and split the damage you take with the Clannfear. You could take this a bit further and have this tether work with the other pets as well to provide other Tank based effects, so tethering with a Scamp will electrify Bash attacks, dealing x Lightning damage and Tethering with a Twilight will restore Magic.

Dark Deal would never be changed to No Cast Time, this will create too much complaints from PVP.
Currently players are happy the way it is working and changing would create another mess.

The Clannfear is amazing, I grouped with a sorc tank yesterday, VMOS HM, I was keep dying so bad, the other 4xx dps was same.
The sorc tank and healer just clear all the Shades and adds every hunting phase, most of the time the sorc tank solo because healer also died sometimes, the tank rev we all after the adds clear, but we all died again..about 3 times, but sorc tank made one mistake at 19% and we end.
I didn't capture the video, it was HM, how could sorc tank survived and killed all adds at the same time, its cool.

While I had the same thing with my sorc tank, I am going to tell you now that if at 20% not everyone alive when you go out of the hunt phase, it is a wipe. Because after 20%, hunt phases are on timer, and adds keep spawning all the time, no way to resurrect. Also no pet required to do that.
