Performance and Ping - Unplayable at this state

Hello, this is not another "we want OC servers" rant, I'd merely like to state that, the game has been unplayable since the Wrathstone update. I understand that ZoS has made it official that they will not be giving us any OC servers but they haven't stated what they're going to do about the EXTRA 60-70 ping on top of the 250 ping we already had. It was bad enough before but we got used to it but with the 300+ ping the game is unplayable. Too many lag smikes, spells don't work 50% of the time, my light attacks turn into heavy attacks and I barely see red circles I'm supposed to roll out of or block before I die now. I can get used to learning mechanics, I can't - LITERALLY CAN'T get used to this. It is IMPOSSIBLE to complete any hard dungeon or trial now without suffering many deaths. I used to run vet trials no death but now I'm getting nuked left, right and center because I can't even see what's coming at me before my health hits 0.

Aside from the ping, performance issues have been surfacing quite frequently all over the game. Let me just say this (no intentional bragging) - my PC is a powerhouse, I can handle ANY game including MMORPG's at max settings without any issues. Heck, I could run 10+ games at once on max settings and my PC wouldn't even hiccup.
That being said, since the update, being in massive groups for PvP, trials etc, my framerate drops below 30. For a game that has been running for this many years and a huge company like Bethesda backing it, I'm extremely disappointing in the results we're seeing after each update. The game is now poorly optimized and makes everything what used to be easy an extremely difficult and frustrating task now. What exactly is going on with your developer team? <-- very serious question, I would actually like to know. A team of professionals that have been doing this for so many years causing huge issues like this post-update? What kind of testing do they actually do? If any at all?

There are so many people complaining about this all over the game, forums, reddit and practically anywhere else they can find suitable to throw up a post.

ZoS, your players and customers are pleading to you and have been for a very long time now. We need your help to solve this ongoing issue and would like to work with you to resolve it. We're giving you all the information you need, along with videos all over YouTube. Please don't ignore us any longer.

It is a big plan, if the game lags ppl will leave and then performance will increase because none is playing!

The games been unplayable for me since just before Nerfmire dropped. I stopped playing altogether around the end of December / Early Jan after trying to turn in quests and talk to an NPC became a lag-fest in itself along with many DC's. Goodbye end-game trials, progressing to vTrials and vMA. Had to leave my guilds too, and I haven't even finished Summerset content because I just can't. Switched to healer role, still got yeeted by that lag.

When ZOS did give us a response they completely missed the point. It's been a disaster since it first started happening and they continue to ignore the real reason we're pissed. I was forgiving at first cause poop happens sometimes, but given how long this has dragged on and the continuous slaps in the face and being ignored. Yeah, ZOS you done messed up big time.

But they've shown their true colors. They don't care about us and they don't care about delivering a playable experience for our region. They got our money, and that's all that matters. They say they care about us and the quality of the game, but lmao we know how true that statement is now. I used to recommend this to friends but now I don't, I just warn them to stay the heck away and put their money towards actually good games that are playable.

I play fine with 250 ping. When it goes to 300+ ping it becomes a stop motion animation for me.
Its just there's this constant lag spike when playing the game. Then the dc comes.
I dont mind the 250 ping, the lag spike and dc are really annoying though.

I really don't see why we haven't been given an answer for this yet. They are clearly well aware that it's an issue that should not be within the game so why not just let us know what's happening, if anything at all? We've been kept in the dark for far too long and we need some light shed on this subject because people have already started to leave because of what's going on with ping and optimization.

Enough is enough, we don't care if you're ashamed or don't want to tell us what happened. Whether ZoS wants to or not, it is 100% their RESPONSIBILITY to explain to us what is going on and what is going to be done. We shouldn't have to put up this much of a fight just to get an answer and a proper reply about the game.

ZoS - Take responsibility and own up, you'll actually earn respect as opposed to being flamed on by thousands of players. We're only growing more and more frustrated, it's only a matter of time before we're all gone. You're only making this worse by dragging it on. As players, we've given you so much of our time, now give us some of yours.

You will be ignored as long as you sub and or buy crowns. Fact. As long as enough people keep pouring money into this game, zos has little to no incentive to change. Most of these complaints have been steady for years. Instead of improving, most are worse lol. It's the only mmo I've ever played where ping and performance have grown steadily worse each patch. Its blatantly obvious they are making enough money, so there is no reason for them to change. They keep enough addicts paying to play in whatever condition at all times.

Personally i've not had as serious sounding lag as what you describe. However i have had an unacceptable amount of dis connects and booted to the login screen. Normally in dungeons.

Also the chat tends to lag 50% of the time. It does not always feel instant.

But the loading screens seem to have improved.

They could do better for sure.

It's not only in OC, it's in Europe too, though to lesser extent. From wrathstone i noticed appearance of two new strange "lags":
    1. Some of the light attacks turn to 2 medium attacks and you lose any control for couple of seconds. It's like your character lags for a while and then bum 2 medium attacks and messed rotation;
    2. Some of the lesser mobs get chain immunity.. previously it was like, you chain mob, he got close to you and then suddenly teleports back like never chained but now with cc immunity. Now it doesn't even pull near, it is simply standing their with cc immunity and laughing on you, though from second try it might be pulled when cc immunity ends.

The difference between 230 to 350 is insane. It goes from slight but very manageable delays to skills just completely not firing, dying without warning and overall just being extremely frustrating experience. Last night I was getting 300 and was happy.... That's ludicrous. 5 years in you'd hope it'd be better not worse.

Next time some goose with 80 ping says "you n33d to l2p n00b", you should post what you just did.

LOL vet dungeons, they are t3h ez mode.

Exactly what I'm talking about, happens to me every time and there are many videos uploaded to YouTube and also sent to ZoS about it. We are literally being ignored about a serious issue that NEEDS to be fixed.
A lot of us are worried ZoS aren't going to do anything because nothing at all has been mentioned by them about this issue. I'd really like to get something done by them before most of us leave due to issues that should not be in the game.

Devs reading through these threads and posts wanting to reply but some a-hole sitting there saying "no don't give them an answer" is ruining everything. Whoever that a-hole is, seriously get the hell out the board because you have NO idea what you are doing OR how to handle a situation in an appropriate manner.

I'm sure the developers who actually care about the game and have put their blood and sweat into it are pulling their hair out right now. Yes - there are devs that love what they do, problem is they're being driven away from what they love and put on to something they have no interest in.

Politicians lie and hold the truth from us, does ZoS really want to sink to the low level of a politician? We play games to escape the real world, not deal with the same type of garbage.

I've been experiencing the same things on PC/NA. Last night, running dungeons with guildies was a total lag-fest. It makes LA weaving into a consistent rotation almost impossible.

I'm under the impression they're just going to continue shoveling garbage onto this dumpster fire until it's too late. Hopefully the new crate season will fix everything though! And when that never happens, then surely the necromancers and dragons will take care of it all, right?

This is another main problem. They keep releasing new content without resolving issues that have been around for far too long in hopes to attract more players and bring old ones back. While that may work to some degree, the long term players, the ones that actually WANT to stick around but can't due to said issues slowly leave one by one.

It simply doesn't feel like a game anymore, it feels like every time I load up ESO now I'm going to be in for a lag fest followed by many unnecessary deaths. Quite frustrating to any gamer.

A good friend who's been around since 2014 has sadly left the game because he simply doesn't want to deal with ESO anymore. He's moved on to another game and won't be back until (if at all) the lag and issues are fixed. I really want to stick around and keep playing because I love the game and it's content, that's why I started this thread in the first place. I'd really like to see a light shine down on what actually is a great game, truth is, I can't.. Not if this continues and we remain ignored.

Ironically games were much more reliable in the past, compared to half products game companies put out today.
Can't even imagine ppl playing with 250ping, if i go over 150 i shut the game down.

My ping jumped up 100 points after the February 11th update. I used to have ping around 80 and now it's around 200 and it's becoming increasingly difficult as sometimes it will jump past 999 randomly.

Issues with the random ping spikes:
-getting stuck during resto/shock charged attack
-abilities not going off when pressed
    -sometimes cannot weapon swap
-weapon swapping sometimes does not swap my ability bar

I cannot tell you how many times I've died because I cannot weapon swap, use abilities, or get stuck doing a charged attack that I cannot break away from.

It's frustrating because I used to have excellent ping and no issues with lag at all until February.

Whatever was done, I wish they would revert it.

Gaming went from a passion to bussiness. Thats what happened. What you'll be playing is often decided by corporate suits, and obviously they care about the money, not the game, and the developers have to do what they're told, no budget for performance increase means nothing will change.

ESO had enough time to build its own new engine from scratch let alone fixing performance, it didn't happen though because there is probably no budget or staff working for performance.
