As far as I'm concerned, the "main" is just the character you invested the most time and effort into.

To this extent, your main should always be a character you want to play and enjoy playing. If this means that you have to change its race, features, etc, then do it. But, imo, you should never be making a character of differing race, features, etc just because you want to keep your main the way they are. There's nothing gained in doing that sort of thing.

If, however, you want to try something completely new and different, sure. Go ahead. Make something different. If you want another character at max so you can easily swap between specific combos or something else like that then, yeah. Go ahead and make multiple characters.

But never hesitate to change your main in any way that makes your main more interesting, fun, or fresh to you. No matter how it looks, it's still YOUR main. It's still the character you spent so much time and effort on. So don't be afraid of changing things up if you don't explicitly want everything, all the good and all the bad, that comes with a new character.

The main is the character you enjoy playing. If you can't enjoy it because it has poor racials, it's not your main anymore.

i can agree to this, but there are 2 things that restrict movement and i don't wanna make this thread about them. :-)
"The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are a popular cultural meme, a metaphor representing the choice between:

Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality (red pill)
Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill)"

Insight to Agree to Awesome Ratio = 1:6.04:2.76 as of 1/25/2019

Compared to people that I've ignored = I am 18% more insightful, 20% less agreeable, and 88% more awesome.

i disagree, your main is the character you found a Playstyle you liked playing most on and enjoyed most. Just because zos changes some *** that ruins that playstlye doesnt mean is still not your favorite.

im currently playing a pvp support tank and ya its ok. doesnt mean i like it nearly as much as my dps non pet magsorc pre nerfmire. That will always be my main and the build i enjoyed the most

Feels that way to me to change ANY toon's race. Race is an important part of each of my characters at creation, I'm not going to change race just because ZOS changed what races do. I don't make meta-chasing minmax vessels, I make characters. If ZOS can't respect that, I just have to suffer, and quietly resent them for it and spend less money on them as they progress. If they ruin a character past playability, that character is now dead and retired. They've already killed my Bosmer thief. RIP.

I don't change the name. Sometimes the race gets changed but it isn't crazy.
