Why does ZOS force PVE on people who want nothing to do with it

Anyway, I'm going to say one last thing on the matter.

PvE and PvP have always co-existed in MMOs. Developers want you to experience everything their game has to offer, so they place incentives to do both. While grinding war horn in PvP you might find you actually enjoy it and want to stay, and if not, it only takes a few hours to obtain now. Back in the day it could take you weeks, or over a month if you were unfortunate.
We actually spend more time doing PvE than you have to PvP. There's more skill lines to unlock (FG, Mages, Psijic, Undaunted) and gear to farm. When a new update lands, we have to dive back into PvE to get our hands on it once again. You get war horn once and you're done.
But at the end of the day, arguing about it is futile. They are both in the game, and they will remain that way.

So we both have to learn to...

This is why they need to be two separate games. I am very sure they'd have plenty of players for each, and some for both, and everyone would be happy..

Forgive my bluntness, but that is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Do you think people join PvP straight off the bat? No. They are incentivised to go there in one way or another. Some of us, like me, enjoyed it and decided to stay. If they were separate games I doubt I'd have experienced PvP, and would have left the game out of boredom.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that all the best, most vibrant dyes, are locked behindPVP achievements I will NEVER have. Like Legate's Black. I'm still angry 5 years later. LOL I get this is a sarcasm thread but I really DO wish ZOS would separate the two more and quit trying to force crossover when it's clear so many players on both sides of the fence don't want it. PVEers get cranky when things that were working perfectly fine for them get constantly changed as ZOS slogs ineptly through yet another attempt at "balance." PVPers get cranky at having to dungeon endlessly for gear, stuck in content they aren't even a little interested in, in order to be competitive in the content they ARE interested in. There are changes ZOS COULD implement to make both camps happy. It's beyond my comprehension as to why they don't.

I mean yeah, it's a bit like the apparent BIS for single target Mag PVE dps at Spell Strat, means at very least a PVE player needs to do some BGs.

I think it stems from the game itself being a PVE game, from the outset with PVP being an aspect of the game. PVP kicked off big time however and is as populated as any PVE content, has been for a long time.

I think it's time for the 2 things to be separated.

I like when people use the word “forced” non reference to this game. Like ZOS is holding your family hostage and threatening their lives if you don’t play a certain way lol.

You are forced to PvP for transmute crystals as a PvE player. Unless you only like getting 6 crystals per day or less.

People are also forced to do pve dungeons, trials to get their gear... unlike the pve elite who can actually buy their spell strategist stuff since it ain't locked.

Considering all of the above should pvp focused players cry for hard life? No, there is no need.

Maybe all of the pve focused sets should also be not bound that way pvp players have no need to see these nerfed dungeons etc :) ..Problem solved.

The pve content is pretty much nerfed to ground soon anyways since somehow people fail finish vet dungeons xD ...Oh my no wonder these people are easy prey when they enter Cyrodiil.

For the same reason they "force" a PvP on people who just want to do the achievements, play the stories, collect the goodies.

If you want it all, you have to do it all.
If you don't want to do it all, you will not get it all.

I could find to try and get what I needed, which worked fine, till I realized that I had to farm dungeons for impenetrable trait items.
Which only means you gotta run with some PUG as they dash through the dungeons, though actually this time you would have to at least pull your weight and pitch in with the PvE or get kicked and called ruse things...

But in the end... no matter what... its always the same choice.
It you want it badly enough... you will grind your teeth and do what you have to to get it.
If you find doing what you need to get it too much of a bother... you will just do without.

Same for PvE-questors and skyshard collection or dolmen & dwelve clearning achievements, same for cyrodil and imperial city storylines, or battleground motivs or... well, actually that is is I guess.

Well, thing is that as a PvE'er you get your hands on far more item drops by just doing your thing: PvE'ing. While someone who mainly plays PvP has to go out of his way to do the content where his desired sets drop: mostly PvE again. So it seems fair to me to cut down the "forced" playtime of less-desired game mode by upping transmutes for PvP. Just like they reduced the time it takes to get Virgor, Caltrops and War Horn.

Edit: And BTW, what do you think is the most common Transmute drop from RotW? 4. It's 4 you get once per day from PvP only. +50 once a month. Over all the month I felt really lucky if I got a bigger drop than that.

The grind from a PvP player's perspective is much more difficult as we have to farm RNG based dungeons from game content we do not enjoy. The content although not difficult is time consuming and sometimes impossible due to the lack of situational awareness and knowledge of game mechanics most PvE players possess.

A PvE player has to do almost nothing to unlock caltrops and vigor. PvE players can random queue a BG do basically nothing and unlock both required skills in a single afternoon. A PvP player has to do group based arena content like vDSA and vBRP. Long and time consuming content without skippable dialogue. We have to grind vet dungeons like vMOS vMazza vCOS. PvE players get to join nHRC and nCR do 10k dps and collect.

PvP provides you with the skillset required for successful PvE. Animation cancelling, staying together, buff uptime and situational awareness.

PvE player here but I think breaking PvP and PvE into two completely separate games would be lovely. :)

I agree. But let's be honest, it's not likely for Zenimax to be able to find a way to incorporate two separate server modes that allow players to opt in to a PvP phase or a PvE phase, neither do they seem too open on letting Cyrodiil or Imperial City hosting two separate sides for PvP and PvE, the PvE one having no PvP rewards and having lesser rewards (Like the Tel'var rewards being cut by half on the PvE side of things)

I'm pretty sure people realised this already, but as always, it turns into a serious PvP vs PvE debate, which is pointless anyway.
