Why does ZOS force PVE on people who want nothing to do with it

I have been trying to get my grand overlord and emperor achievement when something happened, zos changed the meta. I do not PVE, I hate PVE, and honestly wish it wasn't even part of a game or at least a completely separate world server, but people enjoy it so live and let live I say. Though it is beyond me why would they put PVP content in a zone that then forced people to PVE? I could find to try and get what I needed, which worked fine, till I realized that I had to farm dungeons for impenetrable trait items. They were impossible to get without a good full group because they are in dlc dungeons and locked behind pay walls. It is bad enough to put PVP items in a PVE zone, to force people to have to travel through a PVE zone, but then to lock the items behind rng that cant be open without paywalls! What were they thinking? Why do they hate PVPers so much? If it was just an achievement then I could just say forget it, but then they decide to attach one of the cooler housing items to it.

With all the changes to the game, I think its time for PVE to be removed from gear farming. Stop punishing PVPers especially when it is such a simple thing to change. Even better make it a global vendor for dungeon gear in PVP zones so all you have to do is just buy your gear. I have been working on this for days now I am stuck sitting in a PVE area hoping that one of these monster helms drop in normal and I find this last ring so I can run the newest bis meta gear.

Nope. There is definitely a culture difference between PVP and PVE players. This is obviously snark in reference to the same thread on PVP, but honestly, you really aren't forced into PVP for anything in this game. I have played plenty of games that have far more forced PVP even for lower levels. This one doesn't compare.

Nope, not impressed. I don't pvp. Period. There's nothing in this game that I need from pvp - because I'm not going to group to do content (I'm NOT going to foist 2k ms lag on a group for anything - I don't need whatever it is....)

    I'm assuming sarcasm there....

Depends on the person. I don't find ESO or the SPMR games bland. Not at all. But then, I don't NEED anything from pvp. So if you need some of that stuff, I suppose you can spin the attitude to "well you need to play everything otherwise it's bland".

I'm not saying that's where you are. But.... I don't find this game bland at all. In fact, I find it vibrant, full of life, overstuffed with fun.... and damn I wish ping wasn't such an issue for me.

I could fix that with my own T1. Well, yeah, I have enough money to play this game the way I want to.... but paying for a T1 isn't hap'nin.

Fact to stamina is pigeon holed into needing caltrops for virtually any viable endgame dps, and vigor of the class just lacks decent heals or heals that eat more mag than the stam variant in 1 or 2 asts. I hate pvp in eso alot... needing to do it for 2 skills just to finish an end game pve build is just dumb. Either make the assault and support skill lines only work in cyrodiil and bgs or make them unlocked when you hit alliance rank 1 just give them all right there maybe make the passives level up with ranks etc but just set all the active skills to level 1.

This is obviously a troll thread but you can definitely pve or pvp without playing the other. But if you wanna be competitive in either you need to crossover to unlock skills, get gear etc.

I only had to change one word of this from my response in the thread asking why ZOS forces people to PVP.

"Because ZOS wants players to try out different parts of the game. Maybe they learn to like it, maybe they don't. Either way, if you don't incentivize players to try new things, most won't go far from their confort zone.

Because ZOS wants to balance PVE and PVP together, so having a playerbase with at least some experience in both is a good thing.

Because if you want the achievements for getting ALL the base game stuff, you have to experience ALL of the base game, which includes Cyrodiil PVE."

(Yes, I'm aware this thread is probably sarcasm...but its still worth pointing out that ZOS wants everyone to try different game modes and that its a deliberate design choice by ZOS. Its working as intended.)

I think PVE and PVP here are reasonably separate. I'm not sure that just "buying" PvP gear is the answer. What challenge would that be?

Crafting all the gear in the game could be an option. But I doubt that will ever happen. Some of the best dyes in the game are relegated to "costume only". Why? There is literally no good reason that some dyes are allowed on armor pieces and other dyes are not. Same with PvP/PvE gear. There is literally No good reason it can not All be crafted. But some has to be crafted and some has to be found.

I myself, today, had my thief run around Stormhaven, doing all 6 delves just to get pieces of Night Terror gear. Would have been nice to have just been able to just craft them as I crafted the Night Mothers gear.

I wouldn’t say PvP was the only end game that was advertised. I think ESO has always seen end game as both PvP and PvE (trials and DLC dungeons) in this game.

I believe that would be for the best. PVP had problems in every MMORPG game I know. For a good PVP you need a PVP dedicated game.

I sometimes forget that us on console got the game significantly after you guys on PC did. Well regardless it’s not the vision now and it hasn’t been for a long time.
End game is many things now and it’s better that way.

TESO was originally meant to be a PvP version in the Elder Scrolls saga and its endgame content as a Vet16 was PvP only, since there were no trials at the time.

Even in the PvE world, the factions were fighting each other. As an example, if you were to get to near a city which belonged to another faction, you got attacked by the guards and they followed you for quite a bit. ZOS loves their PvP concept as well as their PvP fanbase so much, they keep constantly nerfing PvE stuff because PvP players keep moaning about the smallest things.

Let's turn the table, why does ZOS force us to do PvP as a PvE player? Oh no, they wouldn't dare doing this, or would they?

The answer to this is very simple, Yes they do! PvE and PvP players kind of sit in the same boat, because for some PvE content, people need to do PvP to get some of the gear (Spell Strategist pops to mind straight away), or do need to have millions of gold, to buy them at stupid prices from guild vendors throughout Tamriel.

To be honest, we all need to take a small burden upon us to get somewhere in the game, why not take it with a smile on the face?

some PvEers also need to grind PvP content to get caltrops. They maybe be hate PvP same as you hate PvE.

Well, maybe it's one-sided opinion but if you play ESO only for PVP then you probably enjoy suffering without purpose (nothing bad about it), since there are ton of lag-free balanced PVP games with MMR matchmaking out there both in PC and consoles. So you shouldn't complain troll about some suffering in PVE since it fits your purpose of playing ESO.. or you just like to kill noobs in game where balance exists only in form of nerf of well-known exploits, then suffering in PVE is well-deserved too.

I am. I'm playing The Elder Scrolls Online where the objective is to capture the Elder Scrolls in PvP, not beat vMoL and get on the leaderboard. I don't remember that ever being in an ES game, but I distinctly remember the scroll playing a major part.
