You're probably right. I have heard the other side saying people are too tanky, but I feel they are tanked up because the damage is too high, and still high enough even when tanky.
It's because the game heavily rewards running in large groups.
Minimal AP loss, while having greater survivability and more wins than in any other group constellation. Which means more fun b/c you win/kill more and less displeasure from dying and having to cross the entire distance between the respawn and the fight again.
