I don't notice a difference most of the time, but sometimes there does seem to be damage spikes, like in one fight I got hit 7.4k frags ( never, ever been hit that high in 2 years of playing and im on the tankiest setup I have played) and also hit a 10k snipe. Just seems odd when I have 30k resists and full impen.

I run a lot of resists usually. Like, Pariah, so I can see 40k resists at 60% health.

To test I took the set off for this evenings PvP. You know what? I didn't even notice losing 10k resists lol.

It's not battlespirit. My dark flares the first night were hitting for 5k each cast which means mitigation is also working, because my tooltip is like 18k on the same thing fully buffed.

You all are fighting 103% CHD modifiers kitty blades lol.

Becusee you’re so far over cap at that point that even fracture won’t bring you down. Imo resists of around 24-26k in medium not counting bloodspawn is a pretty good place.

I'm at 29k now fully buffed in heavy. I'd like to get that in medium but impreg is better in medium. Impreg heavy lol?

I took a 12k executioner in the middle of a fight. The guy was not coming from stealth so I dont think it is a kitty blade issue

My bet is on battle spirit or resists calculations

    Not sure though

They dont HAVE to come from stealth to get a crit. Its just more of a sure thing if they do.

I thought for a moment yesterday that I experienced this, but looked at my recap after just dropping dead out of nowhere and I had 3 snipes and a silver bolt so it was just that old number.

Something is off with High resists. It’s as if the higher the resists, the less it works. They change something with diminishing returns?

I switched from the New Nord to the New Orc. Figured if I’m going to be taking more damage anyway, I might as well dish out more damage.

Still taking the same amount of damage on New Orc as I did on New Nord, but I also notice I’m doing more damage with New Orc, too. So I guess New Nord is just for medium/light armor builds.

My nord runs a little over armor cap in medium with major ward and resolve and Bloodspawn proc. Just under in light assuming 5-1-1 setups. If you are in heavy, you could be over the cap and not getting much benefit, but even if 5k over, most penetrate near that at least.

Crit resist seems to be the most notable difference with raising and lowering. I've settled in at dealing with around 3k but power creep is real.

With New Nord, with major ward/resolve, with impen heavy armor, with sword and board, with 8 percent damage reduction via Frost Cloak, without bloodspawn, I was at 31k and 29k resists.

I would still randomly get hit with 8-9k of damage from several different sources. I can’t pinpoint if it came from stealth damage, but I would be in the middle of a brawl and then wham, a third of my health is gone in less than a second. That didn’t happen before the patch when I ran as a regdgaurd.

Don’t know what causes the higher damage, but it’s noticeable.

CP. But in nCP, you lose only 20% CHD but you drop to 1800 (26%). But NB still has access to minor force (10%), their passive (10%), kitty (10%) and shadow (13%) along with base of 50%, still gives you a 93% modifer! Which means even more crit dmg because you are taking a 1.67 modifer instead of a 1.58. But if incap is 12-15k tooltip in nCP then its 20040-25050 dmg you are taking but CP isnt helping reduce it. So just armor is only reducing that dmg down to 15-20k.

I don't think ppl realize how dangerous it is to have Cats with 10% crit damage and Shadow Mundus on any class. Add in the fact that NIghtblades can Force crit and it's only real drawback is a somewhat expensive magicka ability. All on top of just about every race seeing some form of improvements to overall damage.

man, i was totally ready to switch my Nord stamDK 7th Leg/Sprig 5-heavy to 5-med since yknow, I got more resist, and I'm running 2H/DW anyway.... might as well dish out more pain...

....but seems like I gotta stick with heavies until they fix this.

And it's happening in BG too. Pre-patch I'm pretty tanky, can go 1v4 for about a minute while I wait for my teammate to come rescue me... Post-patch, I'll be blocking with my shield and Psijic ulti 8% buff and Absorb Magic slotted, and I literally EXPLODED in less than 3 sec in a 1v3+..... It's insane. Getting critted over 8k by Dizzying Swing or 9k on DK leap....

My Dunmer MagDk hits harder. 258 flat spell damage plus 6% DW as opposed to five. I always run 2 damage sets. Ran Spinners Julianos, switched to Julianos Sun. Slid some points into spell erosion to cover the loss of the crusher (and beserker glyphs) run escapist poisons on the swords now, also to give me pen similar to spinners. Hits harder.

Used to run 1 kena 1 Balorgh. Now 1 Domihaus 1 kena and it’s awesome.

Sustain was crap to begin with. Run Ele Drain, Deep thoughts and heavy attack on the staff bar, pop pots and kite.

Was gonna run Bright throats Julianos or something if sustain was noticeably worse. It’s not. It’s about the same. Loving the patch.

I can dish out 8k to 12k with snipe before patch.

    Now 10k to 15k snipe.

Must be noobs w/o impen on then.

And dk still sending snipe back with love.

For medium stamDk, veiled heritance on a 5 medium-2 heavy setup will get you at 22k resistances. Add blood spawn and major evasion on top of this and you get a very tanky medium setup with around 5k weapon damage consistently.

I've been running this lately, and it feels nice but every once in a while I get blasted by a 10kincap +6k suprise attack combo since this patch hit. Makes me think this bug is somehow stealth related.

I heard some friends saying that resistances don't work , some say its stealth related, some says its completely random. Adding your claims to the mind I have no idea what is the true cause of the problem. I guess I need to do some testings.

I can say that when I first started to PvP after the Wrathstone update, things seemed to be hitting harder. Mostly noticed this in BGs. I thought maybe it was a bug as well. I think what is going on is that more people are running the Shadow since it was buffed as well as Khajiits dealing more burst damage in general rather than just from stealth. The critical damage buffs weren't an extreme increase, but it's likely people are actually running more critical damage now because of it. What I thought was a bug did seem to lessen over time as I got used to the influx of burst damage. I don't think there's a bug going on, but I could easily be wrong.

Also, here's some(a lot of) information on the current status of critical damage and critical resistance:

Add in the fact that NIghtblades can Force crit and it's only real drawback is a somewhat expensive magicka ability. All on top of just about every race seeing some form of improvements to overall damage.

First i was pissed and thought it was a nerf. Then i ran the numbers and did a bit of theory crafting and realized 1h after the natch potes 4.3.4 i think? came out that this made khajiit a very very bursty race or all classes expecially with shadow mundus.
As i said, i warned them that that combo khajiit+shadow mundus would lead to crazy burst expecially with MA. They wouldnt listen. Im so gonna enjoy melting tanks on my ww setup with MA rofl.
You should have seen their comments^^ Thats why im laughing my a** off and im not having any sympathy. Hopefully this will stop this stupid ressistance meta if people realize that even with cap resistances they will get melted when they lack movement.

I’m leaning toward the buffed Shadow Mundus being the culprit here as well.

I played PvP a lot today and can conclude that damage is slightly increased but definitely not doubled.
1vX tanks can no longer tank and evade several players at once... or maybe they couldn't because I anticipated their direction and used Ball of Lightning to cut their path. Either way I had a LOT of fun in noCP Cyro today :D

I don´t know if u realized but siege isn´t the only thing dealing absurd dmg right now. Players dealing alot more dmg aswell, getting hit by 14k assasins will without any kind of debuff whatsoever, can´t sustain fights anymore when I used to 2days ago, just sort of feeling a big difference in terms of dmg output, even on my part I see myself dealing way more dmg or more dmg than I should be doing.

A lot of people have been saying this. I strictly do non CP PvP and I haven't noticed any significant increases in damage. Seems the same it's always been to me. It's always been this absurd.

I legit wouldn't be shocked to see ppl using stuff like shadow fundus with acuity in pvp tbh. Shadow fundus really gave a huge bump to overall crit damage.

If someone threw a fundus at me with any sort of regularity, I'd seriously quit the game. Super gross.

    :p
