I'd like to know what the veteran PvPers think of this 1v2, even if they did mostly come at me one at a time, but to me this was one of the best fights I've ever had in where I come out alive. I believe my mindset at the time was, "JESUS that DK was a Four Star!!"

Stylosa once told me that rank doesn't matter.
It was a good fight for a console environment and you did well.
The most important thing is that you definitely enjoyed it.

Rank to me suggests experience. Generals have spent a lot of time with their builds and have fighting down to a science, that is if they didn't earn all that AP by just zerg surfing or keep repairing.

I've had very few fights where I either last a long time or actually win. I'm a dictionary squishy PvE Stamblade, my build doesn't use crit resist and the only actual investment ive made is crafting weapon power and detect pots. It is fun fighting other PvE builds cause we're on more even ground, but at the same time i feel a little bad cause since I'm a PvE Stamblade, if I attack someone who doesn't have higher armor and crit resist then I hit like a truck.

Oh my god, how do you play with your camera zoomed in so close. Anywho, you did well to hold you own against a mDK. It's not easy fighting them on a nightblade, especially after his leap nearly crushed you to death.
Shadow Image is useful, because it allows you to disengage when you're dotted up to go heal (especially if they have detect pots on you).
Surprised I didn't see you use mass hysteria either actually. It's an op CC that'll go through their block, AND cause them to deal less damage to you for a period of time. I wouldn't rely on the cloak -> SA stun too often.
    Nice job though.

The Overlord was a Grand-mastercrafter , maybe just a PvPer for leisure :P
Incapacitating strike can counter his healing I presume, nice to know, looked like it hit like a train.

Cloak / Surprise attack / Incapacitaitng strike & killers blade worked nicely! + Some good reflexes and vigor too)
Very enjoyable and educating to watch.

So what happens when you run across people with dedicated volunteer titles ? Or people with multiple accounts? Or new characters?

Rank isnt the only indicator i use. I look at their character visually, do they have buffs up preemptively? Wearing any dungeon or trial skins? Moving with purpose? Health pool over 22k? You get to a point where you can tell the difference most of the time.

Rank really does not say anything about an enemy. I saw 5 stars, who only played with one skill bar or jesus beamed targets at 100%. ESO is 5 years old soon and there are quite a lot of people with high ranks but zero PvP experience just by zerg surfing through the last years.

But the magdks name sounds somehow familiar....

As already mentioned, rank rarely means skill.

First, it’s not that easy to earn AP while playing solo (truly solo, not Zerg surfing). You have to chose fights and terrain very carefully. When you fight solo - you kite people like 70% of your play time. As a result - you don’t kill someone 24/7 (as you could have in a Zerg) and gain much less https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/profile/ArchMikemAP. You also can’t get free AP from healing friends, and miss those large keep ticks. Yes, to be very accurate there is one exception here - NB ganking, when you kill - stealth - kill - stealth, and reposition from time to time to avoid angry zerglings, and get A LOT of AP.

Second, getting a high rank requires playing a single character for a very long time. Why this is bad? On the one hand, you are getting more and more experienced on this character, but on the other hand you don’t play (or don’t play very much at least) other classes. Imho, the most important thing in dueling (which actually happened between you and those guys, 2 very fast duels) is the knowledge of your opponent strengths and weaknesses. And the only way to learn those is to go grind another class character and play it in PvP for a solid amount of time. Thus, if you don’t live in game, it can be problematic to reach high enough rank on any of your alts.

Last, to practice 1vs1, you have to go in PvE and duel, duel, duel. Which doesn’t bring AP again. Not many grand overlords have tie for that, trust me.

All I want to say - don’t even look at the rank. Better use approaches which ArchMikem have just suggested.

Still very good job. It’s so satisfying to 1vsX people, who spent significant time in PvP, but learnt nothing except how to stay on crown and ult on command.

well here is an analyse of your fight:

Beside the fact your opponent weren't really good. You lack of reactivity mainly. I mean by that, you used your vigor twice if i'm not mistaken in this fight. You have the possibility to cloak, and you did well using it, but you could have keep your vigor up all the time, and that way never get under 50% health. Thats the main issue i noticed. The second one, you don't keep enough pressure on them, and don't light attack between your skills enough aswell. Be more quick, cut anim better, and you will be able to kill them even more faster wihtout taking a lot of dmg.

And if you enjoyed it, then you succeed to have fun in this game.

PS: Like it already had been said, high rank in the most 80% of the case, means nothing, except you farmed ap.

you chose a really good class for 1vX plays. The ability to cloak and disengage is the main reason stamblades succeed. Both players you killed are regular pvpers. Ive seen them both in cyrodiil, usually in groups and do well. So goodfight👍

Do you play console or PC? On console I find it difficult to keep your target in 'sight' all the time. I have my camera zoomed full out and still feel like its too close. LA weaving in Cyrodiil, at least on console, is next to impossible especially if you swing and miss (you get the whole follow through action)

@ArchMikem Feel ya on the 'oh wow, I just beat 2 guys'. Even after 3 years I am still kind of surprised when I do well too haha. Made me miss my NB. They just hit so hard when you get all the buffs and stuns lined up, its addicting.
