As a tank, I have to say I only ever meet toxic DPS and healers! If directed toward me, it's usually because I am not running past all of the mobs, or keeping them alive when they run on without the group.
However, I can say that as a tank I am far less tolerant of toxicity than I was when playing before as a DPS. I am at CP cap, I have the dungeon achievements, a mess of keys, and I'm doing this for fun. Perhaps most importantly, as a tank I have an insta-que. So, if someone is going to be toxic and suck the fun out of a run (and we can't get rid of the toxic player), I will leave and join another group, while you wait around for another tank...

How are people supposed to learn what to do if they're in there with people who don't want them there unless they already know what to do? It's like the job that requires experience to get the job, but candidates can't get experience unless someone gives them a job.

As someone who generally mains a tank for the last 2 years, in my cases the most toxic players I see are the healers. When I've played DPS or a healer, I've never had many issues with tanks.. Other than wondering why some have a lack of any taunt.
For example; here's two toxic healers I've had in the past week.
Wayrest 1, Normal mode. (Leveling a new Warden, level 45 at this point in time. For a Pledge.)
The healer was level 610 CP, had 10.5k health, and was a roleplayer. He managed to die to basic mobs twice, and he decided instead of healing in fights he should turn into a werewolf, or sit there typing in chat to yell at the rest of the group members. His friend was the tank, level 25. No taunt, and sometimes joining in on his whining. Let me repeat. Cp 610 healer, werewolf. Dying to basic mobs. The other DPS was also a warden. (Friend and I leveling PVP builds. But still more than able to actually duo the dungeon, which is basically what we had been doing since they decided 90% of the time, they wanted to talk.)
Some lines I quote. " You guys need to communicate." "Good Luck in Vet Dungeons" "I only died because I pulled too many mobs" (As the healer!) "I wanted to be something different. I wasn't going to be a vampire healer" "This is a roleplay character"
And add general rude insults and wasting time trying to blame the two people actually doing the dungeon instead of sitting around typing.
Now, after the dungeon was said and done, we talked a bit, explained what we thought he did wrong. He continued to blame us and our teamwork.. (Strangely. Blame the people who're on Discord, and duoing a normal dungeon while you talk in text chat.) We left the group, to which he promptly went to zone chat to try to insult us with his buddy joining in. We ignored him and left that right away.
Healer 2: Vet BC2.
The healer and secondary DPS were god awful. They managed to die pretty frequently. (At this point, I was a 250 CP tank, and my friend was a 175 CP Magsorc. The Healer was 565 Templar, and the other DPS was a 450 Stamsorc.)
I was basically self healing through a good amount of the dungeon because even while I held aggro, and kept mobs/bosses tight to me, the healer most of all would still find a way to get himself killed. Fast forward a bit:
Last Boss, Rilis. Not too complicated, there are mechanics to this one, but it's not too complicated. I held Boss, and the Daedroths tight to me, expecting the healer to help me to some extent. The DPS were hard at work meltng boss, the feast, and the Daedroths as best they could. but the healer decides that. "Let me stop healing everyone and run to the other side of the room!" Suddenly, Stamsorc dies for mechs. Instead of the healer sticking with me, he runs out to start rezing the stamsorc. Instead of letting our other DPS do this, who also promptly dies to mechs (No heals!) It's only me and the healer left. While I can hold my own, shield and self heal for a bit. To continue holding a boss and the daedroths, and deal with mechs on my own I do need health. What does the healer do? Die rezing dps. I managed to rez my friend, the magsorc. Who managed to rez the other two, only to have them all three die again. Healer ran away, other two die, and then healer dies.
Queue the chat. "Tank, you're not following the mechs! You need to do ________"
I have to scratch my head and wonder why this is anything I can be blamed for. I'm doing my job. Boss is far away from the Feast, Daedroths are on me, and he decides to keep running away and letting his teammates die because they need his heals.
This happens 10 times, before my friend and I told him in the chat that he shouldn't run away from healing people every time, then complain that they die. Everyone needed heals, and this guy was off in the corner of the room doing divines-know-what with himself. We left that pretty quickly.
Something is wrong with that tank, or tanks, if they are queueing solo for GF as decent tanks can always find people to run with. I never queue up with less than 3 in my group, usually a full group.
The fact they were insistent about players being at the CP cap just shows how little they know. A great many players are at the CP cap and are not very skilled. Skill trumps CP any day of the week.

How are people agreeing with this?
I pretty much do all my dungeons as PUGs. I do my daily, when I do it, as a random vet. I don't do it so much these days because it gets pretty repetitive and boring after a while, though I've been tanking with other classes while leveling alts. Nothing is "wrong" with my tanking. Where did you come up with that nonsense?
Most PUG groups, in my experience, are quite fine. The only time I have done a vet DLC dungeon in a non-PUG was when I was getting verified for a trials guild.
