Guild leader guy logs in and starts blabbing about how the entire bank got robbed, its all over blah blah blah kind of stuff, blames it on some random dude, then nukes the guilds and discord a few minutes later. They had been pushing people to join all the sister guilds and invest a lot lately so its pretty obvious stuff.
As an EVE player this is pretty hilarious to me, good job and well done to him.
Just wanted to see what other players thoughts on this were, discuss.
(Two of the guilds were Tamriel Marketplace and Why Buy Elsweyr)
Edit because people can't read: I am not saying ESO is like EVE or that it should be, I am simply bringing up an event that happened and am sharing my own perspective and looking to see what other people think of said event.

Not true. We don't.
While my guild does have a minimum contribution requirement, it is insanely low, particularly given that we've maintained the same location in Rawl for a couple years, and there are ways to meet it that aren't sales/dues/raffle tickets.

Someone told me your weekly was 20k!

This sort of situation is bad for every guild in the game because GMs should have integrity and should do the right thing by every guild member, if that is promised or promoted when people join up. I think this behaviour is atrocious and fosters distrust in trading guilds who might be starting out or have been around for a long time.
No one likes being lied to by a charlatan or robbed by a fraud.

This kind of rhetoric is what scares away inexperienced players from learning how to trade. Shame on you.MLGProPlayer wrote: »Then you're never going to sell anything since all the best locations require sales minimums/dues.

They just expected a functional trader. (And with the system zos has for trading, it does require a lot of people chipping in to hire a trader.) And then they got kicked.

Unless the answers to those questions are really surprising, I don't see the point from a simple greed standpoint; there are easier ways to make money in the game. The motivation would more likely be the joy of thievery itself, a desire to hurt fellow players, or something like that.

I use these guilds to sell my stuff, nothing more. If dues are unreasonable, like 6k plus I leave. There are (hundreds?) of guilds peoples, no reason to be screwed by them.
Because trust me, they don't give a rats butt about you!

As someone who was simply seeking a trade guild and stumbled into this group, I hope he does not. Someone pulling off an objectively impressive robbery of people's gold still doesn't deserve to keep it. I only lost 2 or 3k gold but I know people that lost more. This is not cool.As someone whose a big fan of Eve and guild drama, I hope he gets to keep the gold. I was in his guilds too, he deserves it for the long con

All I expected from my 'investment' was the peace of mind that I wasn't going to get kicked out of the guild if I couldn't sell enough or remember to pay dues every Sunday. This is my second bad experience with trading guilds out of two guilds I have joined. I much prefer the Auction House method that WoW used and will be looking into the Nirn Auction House add-on for sure. I don't play enough to accumulate high-value items on a regular basis, but I liked being able to get some income from my windfalls.

Um, yes. I am curious what ESO players think of gameplay like this. That and it was hilarious.
Actually I joined the forum yesterday for other reasons, this just ended up being my first post.

Well Eve is more trollish 😏
Hold up:
Haven’t been on in a few days BUT I am in that guild.
I don’t know anything about “nuking” the guild and will look into it HOWEVER I will say this: since joining the guild and seeing their tutorials I went from having like 200k at any given time to A mutiple millionaire.
They have taught me how to easily make money in this game. Even if this is true(I’m also in another guild run by same people which isn’t named here so I’m skeptical) then my 60k 6 month buy in was a golden *** investment.
The Tamriel marketplace owners didn’t give me dinner. They taught me how to fish.
I’ll be forever great full to them irregardless of the outcome.
