Cant get any further than launcher screen

Tried to log in to play today and the Launcher comes up as usual but when you press the blue "Play" screen button nothing happens at all now. - Everything has been fine until now but I have just had my forum account activated - Could this have affected my access to the game?

Please help

    Same problem here though I didn't just activate my forum account. Was able to log in yesterday.

    Not sure if relevant but I just pre-purchased Elsweyr.

    I've just got the issue solved and this is how I did it:
    (not sure what exactly did it, so just do everything in this order)

    1. Toggle command console (cmd) and run ipconfig/flushdns
    2. Reinstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables you happen to have installed
    3. Reinstall .NET Framework

    I can not get pass my launcher it freezes all the time. I did the Toggle command console (cmd) and run ipconfig/flushdns, reinstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables and still does not work. I got it up to 90% and then it freeze on me and then launcher disappeared.

    Thanks for all the suggestions guys, In the end I did a full re- installation (which didnt solve anything) then used the repair tool which solved the problem, seems a file or two had been corrupted for some reason and that did the trick.
    Its easy to spot the idiots, their the ones who have no friends.

    I've tried so many "solutions" and nothing is working. Is it possible Kaspersky is blocking the patcher server? If so, what's the IP so I can set a parameter to accept it?

    Yes you need to add both ESO and the ESO Launcher to the exclusions list in Kapersky. Google Kapersky and exclusions for instructions. Also, if your running a hardware firewall, add Port Triggering, you can find the port list in the Support section.

    Thanks @Nestor. I already had the apps in exlusions. I've also done the port triggering bit. Still no luck . . . Can't even install.

    Go to the support portal here and put in Cant install and the OS you have, this could be a C++ issue.

    kk. I reinstalled all the C++ redistributables as well 2005 up to 2017 (although for some reason 2015 doesn't show up in my add/remove programs list, but I did install it).

    Also did portforwarding within Kaspersky and my router. Turned Kaspersky protection off atm to try and install, but it the launcher still freezes . . . cannot deal with this crap anymore. It's been 1 week since my 6-month sub renewed . . .

    I know there were a few support articles on install issues, but I am on my phone and cant seem to access them.

    yes. I always run as admin.I usually go into properties and set the compatability mode to Admin.

    Zeni came back and blamed my ISP but didn't provide proof. My ISP says it's not them.

    @Nestor all Zeni support is telling me to do is use a vpn, or a different network and that it's all my ISP's fault blocking files. This is 0 help. So *** Communications has apparently been blocking files since Murkmire (when this crap first started) and the only way I've been able to patch since then is to repair the game which worked up to this very patch? BULL!

    @zenimax help!!!!!!

    Provide a real damn solution. Or give me a *** refund for my 6 month subv.

    further update with things that DID NOT help

    Uninstalled Kaspersky AV
    Turned off WIndows Defender FIrewall
    Disabled Malware Bytes
    Connected Ethernet directly to modem from PC
    Set up DMZ on router
    Continued to talk to Zenimax
    Troubleshooting via twitter with my ISP *** Communications since Zenimax claims they are blocking things

    Things I COULD DO
    Update games via
    Steam
    Origin
    Battle.net
    Epic Games
    Ubisoft
    MTG Arena

    . . . the fact that the patcher stalls, then just freezes and auto-quits tells me there is a software issue somewhere. Is this only affecting AMD systems (what I have) or is it on both Intel and AMD? I never had this issue on my 4770k

    Another update:

    Spent 30 bucks for a years worth of Kaspersky Secure Connection VPN (unlimited data). Turned it on.

    Patcher works and am now installing the entire game.

    @zenimax i hate you. Why should we have to use a VPN to download your files?

    I am not sure why a VPN would be needed. I work for an ISP, one of the largest in the country, and I can tell you, we don't block files or IPs, takes way too much networking horsepower. Now, routing can get messed up and cuase various issues, but those are usually resolved quickly.

    @Nestor thank for responding to me while i have been furious. Your suggestions were helpful. I resisted the VPN thing as a last resort b/c i find the notion of needing it for game files preposterous, which it is.

    At least I can i get in game now.

    Now if someone could just do something about the insane Coldfire/Regular Fire ballista dmg . . . Apparently ZOS turned those up to 11.
