I do plan to wait a bit before actually buying the card, though, partly because I haven't seen one as of yet and partly because I might as well save my 60 days until I have more free time than I do now. The initial excitement cooled with the enforced wait, which is probably not in Zenimax's favor, but we'll see once I get back into the game; the Early Access was pretty good.
They dont actually charge your CC as far as I am aware? So you dont have to pay to make use of the 30 days. At least I have not been charged.

I think they meant "borrow" instead of borrow. As in, use your friend's CC without permission. Obviously if someone gives you permission to use their CC it's not fraud.

Depends on the card's terms of use, but usually it's a breach of their terms. In this case it's also a breach of the terms of service for TES Online. It's also fraud since (based on what the ToS say) you're representing yourself as the cardholder when you aren't.

You can't use other people's CC to sign up for this game. It's right there in the Zenimax / TES Online ToS. Your card, your address, your name, your card. Not your friend's. Get with the program.
I equate it as going to the store with a friend, and *me* using my credit card to pay for their stuff because I'm generous. Not them using my card in any way. If that makes sense.

You might think of those as the same, but the transaction looks very different on paper. And the ToS certainly don't see things that way.
Besides, I'm just giving it right back to the goobers who are telling people to "suck it up" over various other problems (like this one in particular, where Zenimax execs were promising a 30 day "try out" before you have to subscribe). They expect "just use a friend's card" to fix this issue? That's pretty ridiculous.
But THEY can use THEIR card to set up a subscription on my account. Which is what i was suggesting.
And that is allowed, of course. Otherwise a parent could not buy a subscription for his kid.
It's their money, if they wish to choose to spend it on their friend it's perfectly legal. Stop throwing T&C's about guessing that it "probably" breaks them. Stupid guess work, laughable hahaha. What about kids that use their parents cards? Hell I'm 26 and I don't have a slave credit card.

Except i am not suggesting to use someone else's card, i am suggesting that THEY use THEIR card to pay for your subscription. Which is entirely legal and neither a fraud nor a ToS violation.

What are you, dense? If you log into TES Online and somebody else puts in his information, TES sees your account and somebody else's CC info. It doesn't matter if he's punching the keys, man.
How does it feel having somebody throw the EULA and ToS in your face now? Not so good, eh?
Ignore him he's one of those lesser beings you hear about, a loud mouthed jack the lad who's mind is occupied mostly by sex, fighting, sports, alcohol and what's on TV or what game he should play.cheeser123 wrote: »Except i am not suggesting to use someone else's card, i am suggesting that THEY use THEIR card to pay for your subscription. The quote says you must be the authorized user of the credit card you use to pay for the subscripton.
It does not say you have to be the person who will be using that subscription.
