I've had a Dunmer DK tank long before I had an Argonian Warden Tank (the only other tank I have). Race doesn't matter as much as people think it does when tanking is involved.

I will remain an Argonian until ZOS shuts down the server (or an Angry mob burns down the studio, which happens 1st).

Argonian since release so won't change for another.

Haven’t decided yet. I want to be able to do strong dps as well, but orcs are fugly trash with no finesse. Will likely be imperial, but perhaps redguard since they can gain stam while blocking.

I been planning to race change for a while... been Argonian for so long and they not "special" or rare anymore..

Question is: Nord or Imperial? and why?

Never was Argonian though

I have 3 tanks, one DK, one Warden, one Templar. None of them are my main character(s) but all 3 are Argonians.

DK will be changed to Nord, not even a doubt.

Warden will be changed to Redguard (it's a tank that I built for 4 man content, 3 DD+Tank heal)

Templar tanks are not that great that i would waste a race change token on him, so staying Argonian. Edit: with more free tokens, I would make him Imperial.

Plague doctor/Green Pact/Shalk exoskeleton/ the list can go on you listed several sets all are decent and give group buffs but are not the only sets a tank can use. Plenty of room if you don’t narrow ur field of view there are hundreds of sets in game so thousands of possible combinations can be made for a tank. You focus on one part of what I stated and didn’t mention that I do agree to a point that argonians recieved a heavy handed nerf. What do you do tho any changes to argonian are eiether gonna be worse or over powered. But as is argonian May not be absolutely hands down BiS but are still competitive. Back to sets tho you are only limited by your own thoughts

There really isn't an set that a Tank would wear that would give an Argonian an edge over Nord or Imperial. If I'm building a health Tank with Plague Doctor and Ebon, Imperial is better as it has more health. If I'm building for Ultimate Regen with Akaviri and Shalks, Nord is better. If I'm building for any form of damage, Imperial will do more just based on the fact they have more resources.

There is virtually NOTHING an Argonian tank can effectively build for and not be totally overshadowed by Nord or Imperial unless it's Healbot Tanking and that's only really useful for Dungeons and PvP. It's depressing.

People claim that any sort of buff for Argonian would make them OP, and totally ignore the fact that Imperial is actually lowkey OP right now, since its sustain is actually BETTER than an Argonians and has more resources for more damage overall.

Yes nord and imperial may have an edge but overall races are balanced enough that you may not be BiS race for a particular class or role but you will not be gimped by your race.

But Argonian is in fact gimped right now. Virtually in every role, Argonian is outclassed, be it Tank, Healer or DPS. They nerfed Argonian into redundancy, just like we were prior to Morrowind, while every other race got buffed or in some cases Overbuffed. The only other race that I would say got totally screwed would be Bosmer with Hunter's Eye (Altmer I would say didn't get totally screwed but Spell Recharge is a bad change regardless).

If ZOS wanted to make racials offer more diversity in terms of what a race offered for specific roles, they failed. Whereas before this patch, all races could Tank on more or less equal footing based solely on player skill but now, Nord and Imperial offer a very clear competitive edge. Whereas Altmer, Argonian and Breton were all viable competitive Healers before this patch, the Healer role is now totally dominated by Breton. Admittedly, I'm glad Magic Redguard got some sort of buff with the weapon skill cost reduction, I'm glad Dunmer and Khajiit got opened up for Stamina and Magic DPS respectively but other than those changes, this patch has been an outright failure in my eyes.

I don't care about BiS, I honestly hate the term because it implies that something is not balanced and I DESPISE that.

SO if ppl want to roleplay or go offmeta and not be endgame. Which is fine, but as far as what you will be using in a meta guild that pushes scores you are limited.

Feels like people who write such threads, havent been on PTS even.

Nord ultimate is far from be-all , you'll make use of it in organised group and still not everywhere, as rarely horns go in a row. Argonian is still king of sustain for tank. Yes got tuned down a bit, but theres no reason for all to race change
