Grace period expired before game arrived

I'm honestly not even mad or upset about this, because I knew when I ordered the physical edition of the game that this would most likely happen. However, I still feel a need to voice my opinion.

The budget for ESO was 300 million dollars, but apparently it wasn't enough money to hire the genius who was suppose to ask "What happens if the grace period expires before the actual game arrives?" I'll tell you what happens, people who bought the game from Game Stop lost access to the game on Sunday. Unfortunately, that same genius who was never hired was apparently the guy who was also suppose to ask "Why can't players set up a subscription plan if they've already entered the early access code they received from purchasing the game."

In a world where most anything and everything is readily available with the click of a button , a flawless execution into the market is not only necessary, it's imperative. I just wanted to let ZeniMax know that I am for hire, at a premium, and I could be that genius.

Awesome post. I read this as I sit here waiting for my collector's edition to arrive. Silly that we can't setup our subscription. :(

People still posting about this? Zenimax is not responsible for how slow things get to you. And, as you said, you knew it would be slow.

They didn't even have to expand early access as much as they did. They can't just continuously extend it until every little problem is fixed.

I see what you are saying, but we have proof we bought the game, we should be able to play. I guess its spend more, play less :)

You haven't paid to actually play the game, ie, the monthly subscriptions, so you aren't loosing any money and Zenimax isn't gaining any extra money. Like with any product, you have to be patient for it to arrive.

unless you post a reference to the "$300M" statment, just don't bother... 2 months ago there was an unfounded rumour for 200M... but they are unfounded so far. BS is not the way to go.

Midgardian, I admit that I anticipated this would happen, but I still have every right to be amazed that it actually did. However, both ZeniMax and GameStop are at fault. Together, these two companies have a synergistic relationship, meaning they work in sync to benefit each other. Therefore, it is the job of each of these companies to make sure this synergy actually exists, as each one affects the other.
If I could anticipate this happening, then somebody at either of these companies should have as well. I am disappointed in both of them, and yes, they absolutely should extend early access until the majority of the issues get resolved. Here is why: The overwhelming majority of people contacting customer service are having a very similar complaint as the one I am having, the phones are now busy, and people who have legitimate complaints unrelated to these issues are now forced to wait. It is unfair to those people with different issues.

Carnage, you are absolutely right. I read the estimated budget nearly a year ago, which was speculated at 300 million, and is where I got my information from. However, Forbes has somebody quoting 200 million, so you are correct. Although, after looking at other game budgets, I don't think 200-300 million is an unlikely budget for this game http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2014/01/02/predicting-the-biggest-disaster-of-2014-the-elder-scrolls-online/

In hind-site, I guess that genius they needed cost 100 million dollars, or more =)
