Getting kicked from dungeons before the last boss

I have found that if you ask if the group minds you role playing as an old timey prospector, you will get kicked. Alsi, a great way to get out of a bad group and queue again

    Hello !

Today I joined a veteran Volenfell run, daily pledge, through the group finder.
There were 3 other players already in, I joined, said hi.No one spoke but I am used to that.
cp 450, relequen/velidreth/briarheart , they were all lower level, 120 - 150ish so it was very slow but we made it to the final boss with quite a few deaths. Used a lot of potions, even on trash mobs to make up for the lack of group dps.
    And then -
You are no longer in a party ... I got kicked.Got the screenshot, got the name of the party leader, got the combat metrix screenshot were it shows 67% of the damage of the fights was mine.
They were probably communicating on discord or in their guild chat and kicked to replace me with another low level friend of theirs, for the last boss, undaunted keys and loot.
So, how does this work ? I know it is not allowed to write their name on the forum. Do I complain to support ? They are not bothered to fix the EU servers, I am pretty sure no one really cares what happened to me.Even I do not care, but I do wonder why is it not ok to let the community know the names of the people involved ? I have all the proof to show I did nothing wrong and was used to carry them through the fights. They did not even know the way, where to go next, died at simple mechanics. I do not mind all that, people have to learn and I would never leave a party because of how long the fights take.Remembering my early days, it is only right to give back. But this... this is just lame.

We all know bad things happen but do I have to pretend it did not, do I have to say - oh well, life goes on, forget the bad, concentrate on the positive ? Why is it not ok to say their names in public ? Thinking about them doing this for all the vet dungeons ... and no one doing anything about it.It would be a good thing to show the screenshots and name them.

When good people do nothing, bad people rule.

Actually, I do care. Unfortunately there are ________ who group up and use the dungeon finder to troll others. I've come across them as well. It's pretty annoying.

That's why I've been saying for years now that people who join up together before queuing should only count as one vote toward kicking another player. That would put a stop to this tactic.

I agree with the no naming and shaming rule on the forums though. People are not above lying about other players and it's better not to risk the forums becoming a tool for vindictive players to slander others.

    What a *** dungeon.

Once I did it once on vet per char there was no reason to go back.

Something about it just rubs me the wrong way and I don’t know why.

Of course everyone wants to have a great group of people to play with, of course you need a guild to do quality content but that is not the topic of this post. I often work odd hours so sometimes I play early in the morning and getting a steady veteran pledge group , especially the dlc-ones is not easy .So the group finder is a great idea, while I do some fishing. Only not so nice with people like that, using you to clear 90% of the content and kicking you before the last boss to get someone else in with whom they did not want to suffer through the whole run. I did not die during the run, know when to dodge, block or just get out of the aoe, but the tank died a few times , one guy had 12k health, died all the time, probably did not use food and still I did not say anything. You play a hand you are dealt and I played.

So, just to be clear - did not offend anyone in the group, did not speak to anyone, no one spoke to me or to each other , I had good damage and they kicked me, before the last boss. We did not start the fight at the last boss, we just got there.
Did not even bother with a - hey sorry mate a guild member just logged on who really needs this vet dungeon, we have to kick you ... The reason for this post was not really to complaint about what happened, not to ask advice how to find a decent group or how to join a guild or how to advertise my self in map chat- my question was, is still - Why is it forbidden to name the people who are doing this, when I have all the evidence ? Why do we all have to put up with this ?

I know this is just a game. But when it is teaching us to overlook the bad stuff and just ignore or even worst, accept all what
sleazeballs do maybe it is giving us a wrong message. I do not like it.

I just don't understand why anyone would take it personal. Yes, you are supposed to let it go and forget it happened. How could ZOS make this better by emailing them? Force the other people to play with you?
We're adults, no one is entitled to be with anyone else ever. So if you don't want to risk being kicked don't pug it. Doesn't matter why they kicked you because the end result is the same.
If this happens to you rarely don't sweat it. If it's often...check your build/rotation.

    I disagree.

People who kick other players for illegitimate reasons are abusing the in-game systems to troll other players. They deserve to be reported and dealt with in my opinion. A temporary ban from being able to use the dungeon finder sounds appropriate for a first offense.

This is exactly why I never do the dungeon finder. I get a guild member who knows my skill level and go with that person. Then he/she might say go for a pug, but I'm not there alone with no one to cover my inexperienced butt. The leader always says this is the way it is, either stay or go, but not at the last minute at the last boss. Oh, and this issue can be cured. They have fixed it in other games with a point of no return in the dungeons.

what? He will not get any undaunted key if he didn't kill all other bosses.

Afaik, there is only one dungeon you can clear and get daily key from any stage of backfill, it's Scalecaller. You need to kill only last boss there to get daily pledge done.

Wow, sad move by them, but what can you do, nothing against the rules to kick someone.

I'm gonna take this opportunity to ask a question to you dungeon goers, what is the lowest dps you would be fine with your dds having in pug vet dungeons, when would you feel its ok to complain about it?

(plot twist, I am the DD)

It honestly depends on the dungeon and what role I'm playing. Some vet dungeons are ridiculously easy, like Wayrest and CoH, others are more challenging like Darkshade Caverns (mostly because of the Engine Guardian boss, people can easily get hung up on the mechanics for that one). If it's an easier one then I don't really care because we'll get through it eventually, it'll just take a bit longer. If it's a harder one that requires both DPS be able to do a fair amount of damage before adds or mechanics cause wipes because the bosses can't be taken out in time, that's when (others in the group) will usually say something. I personally just roll with whatever group I get, and if it becomes obvious we legit cannot get passed a certain point, I'll usually be the one to drop out myself after a quick 'sorry guys I don't think we can get through this'.

I don't like kicking people or telling people they need to leave a group. We were all new at some point and needed the guidance and experience, something a sad number of people seem to forget.

If I don't want to play with you in a game I bought than that's that.
You can't punish people just because they don't want to play with you man.
Doesn't matter what the reason is. Bad dps, bad attitude, great dps, great attitude. Doesn't matter.
YOU'RE NOT ENTITLED TO MY TIME OR ANYONE ELSE'S. I'm not entitled to yours either.
If you have crown and drop me when the last boss is at 20%, so be it.
Solo it, get a guild, run it with friends.
I don't owe you my time and I don't owe you an explanation.
The sooner you realize that the happier you will be.

Punishing people for kicking a person will never happen because ZOS is not going to make people stay together. We all bought the game and it didn't include 3 group members with it. The fact that you think people should be banned from group finder temporarily is absolutely hilarious.

I haven't gotten kicked from a group in over 2 1/2 years and I'm guessing it is because they have an incentive to keep me in the group.

If you want to avoid being kicked ever again maybe look at your build/rotation. If it's not that, then they just wanted to kick you.

Don't turn it into a catastrophe. Move on.

Well, you can take comfort in knowing that if they kicked you when they were doing so poorly they were unlikely to have finished the dungeon...Red, Yellow, and Blue can be brutal for bad players...especially when they all decide to aggro on one person(well, aside from Yellow who can actually be taunted but still hits hard)
