The loss of the "10% damage from stealth" bonus is going to gimp him, because he really does do nearly all of his damage from stealth. It's pretty much a straight 10% damage nerf for him. He's the only one of my 15 characters I'm thinking of changing.
The choice is Dunmer or Orc. I've done some testing on PTS and, given the particular tactics I use, there's no difference in damage between the two. The character is AD, so Wood Orc would make more sense from an RP/lore perspective. But, that Dunmer magicka pool increase is just too much to pass up on. So, I think I'm just going to try to make a Bosmer-shaped Dunmer and put the soul shriven skin on him. I might have to make him stage 4 vamp as well to compensate for the loss of stealth radius, and give him back some stam regen. Good job I didn't build the original character for cuteness.
For those who think "Oh, just make a new character" - this Bosmer character has a relatively high AvA rank, and I don't do many hours of PvP. Getting knocked back from Tribune to Recruit might take me more than a year to make up. One of this character's long term objectives if to make Legate. Getting that extra shade of black is very important, you know.
So actually been thinking about it. Wouldn't that extra penetration help with lose to gankers? Also with health detect you can gank the gankers first...maybe...

There's lots of reasons to change. Maybe your favorite race wasn't as great as option as it is now or just want to try out a new concept.
No I meant like, when Necromancer comes out I’m going to take a screenshot of the sorcerers name, then delete that character, then go and make a necro with the same name. Sadly Altmers don’t have black hair tho.StytchFingal wrote: »Reistr_the_Unbroken wrote: »My main is a nord vampire that I created in Skyrim and I’ve grown attached to him, so I’m not changing him at all.
The other ones, not going to change their race or anything about them either- except for my Altmer, who’s going to stay an Altmer but go from a sorcerer class to Necromancer when that rolls out.
ESO doesn't have a class change option, so that one will stay a sorc.

The race changes won't make a noticeable performance difference to any of my characters, which is not to say I don't continually work at improving (and do improve in small wonderful increments daily) but rather that I'm not temperamentally inclined to spend the necessary large amounts of time in contexts where the 1% or so difference that would be noticeable via scores or addons would be important. I do marvel at the degree of efficiency end-game players achieve and adapt the theories that make that possible for them in order to improve at what I do, which is mostly soloing content (for instance, there was a time when I avoided vMA but now I'm addicted and run it pretty much daily).

(I don't believe in "race/class/alliance/etc change" anyway. If you want a different character, make a new one. Worst thing in Diablo 3 was the infinite/easy respec & gaining skills automatically by level. Absolutely no reason for me to make a second character of any particular class, as opposed to Diablo 2 where I made new ones all the time in order to try a new skill build. Of course, I never played D2 for the level-99 "endgame" boss grind. I actually never got any characters into Hell difficulty - was always making new ones.)
I create characters. None of my characters are transracial. It's pretty much that simple.
There is one time I used a name/race change. I had a stamina DK built up and was going to redo that character as a stamina templar. Instead of deleting the stamina DK, I decided to name/race change him into a new character that was going to be a magicka DK. The results of that experiment were... less than optimal. Not because the magicka DK didn't work, but because you seriously loose something in the storytelling process if you don't take a character through the leveling process naturally. Eventually I just deleted that name/race changed character and redid him from scratch. It's not a mistake I'll make a second time.
