Did you see i say WITH CD 30 DAYS for char? So your message totally wrong.
For faction lock there should be other system. Like 30 days campaign end and any single player get pop-up window for new campaign like
"Hello our MERCENARY, new campaign in Cyro start. Choose your faction for the next campaign! (Your faction would be accountwide, and all your 8-15 chars would belong to this alliance next 30 days)". For factionlock - this is the way.

An faction change token would be an crown store item and probably cost the same as race change.
its not people will spam.

As for campaigns. Simply has an cool-down on 20 hours on campaign / account. So if you play Viviec as AD you have to wait before playing on other alliance. You can play other campaigns on other alliances however.

to your faction lock, well yeah and no.
It cant move all your chars into a different Alliance for the duration, that could mess with overland content and quests.
Simply keep all chars on the alliance they have, yet allow only chars from 1 alliance to be played in a certain campain.

Sotha campain starts new, the first time you join tha campain with a Char will lock the Campain to only be joinable by same same alliance, that first char had.
All oter campains can (with the same system) be accesed for other aliiances

Quests no. One Tamriel basically ruined any amount of flow the quests had. You'd just be continuing your EP quests as an AD or whatever. One big flaw with OT that makes me wish it never happened.

As to the OP, I think this is an important discussion to have when big race changes are on the table (so big that players are actually going to be given 3 race change tokens to go along with these changes). I would say that at the very least, all accounts should ALSO be given 3 alliance change tokens to go along with these race change tokens for people who would like to be in the alliance of the race they're changing to.

E.g., if I wanted to be a Breton now and not a Dunmer, I should have the option of switching from EP to DC

well I dont see problems with normal overland quests...
but mainly with the 2 Cadwels quests: Cadwells siler and Gold
they both state that you have to complete a Certains alliance mainstory.

If I play EP, the silver quest has the goal to complete DC, now I swap my char to DC (which woul dhave another alliance to be completed in silver)
so that might be a point of problems and bugs, which I dunno if zos would be able to get a workarround.

1 achievement for completing each alliance main story.
Cadwell Silver : complete 2 out of 3 achievements.
Cadwell Gold : complete 3 out of 3 achievements.

So even if you switch alliance, it will still work.

It really doesn't matter to me if they offered tokens or not. However, I would like other players to have that option.

I used to be married to DC. Just imagine being married and as time goes by your relationship changes. Your partner treats you bad, or shows you no attention. Why would you want to stay?

I'm not saying it is better on other sides of the map, but if you think swapping to another faction would help you enjoy the time spent in the game; then I say, "Yes, to tokens!".

I think many people (me included) would on the opposite be happy to switch to the less populated faction, especially on campaigns like Shor where its often hard to find opponents to fight outside of prime time.

However i would never pay 3k crowns every month just for this.

Also, even if you allow some sort of faction change, playing multiple characters would still be the best way to farm transmutation stones (the true endgame grind imho)

I would like to see alliance locked campaings.
At the start you choose which alliance you fight for, and then your alliance is locked till campaing end. At least players that have chosen an alliance and now they can't play with their guilds would have something.

As a player for some time with 10 Characters, I fail to see the almost fetishistic approach to what alliance characters belong to. As a primarily PvE Player this attitude seems meaningless to me.

Get over it if the Racial Changes crimp your beliefs and stop crying out for gimmes to fix it.

You've got that backwards. Faction change tokens won't increase 'traitors', since as you point out anybody who wants to play on multiple factions probably already has alts set up for that. What it will do is allow players like me stay loyal to one faction, without having to delete and re-grind a bunch of characters that they made before ever setting foot in Cyrodiil.

Doesn't matter though, since the devs have said they don't want to do faction change tokens.

There are two of my chars for which I'd love to be able to change their alliance. I hope it happens, some day.

I can tell you right now, it's not always a matter of 'faction loyalty' or switching to the 'FotM faction,' when people ask for a possible Alliance change token. While it may be a possibility that occurs that people do want to switch to the reigning faction in an ongoing campaign, some people, particularly those without so much luxury of time because they live an ordinary workday, would appreciate an opportunity like this immensely.

Most of us first began this game choosing a faction simply because it had the race we wanted to play - we knew not of the 'All Races, All Alliances' package. Fortunately for me, I had the privilege of wanting to play Imperial, so I had access to every faction I wanted. As time goes on, we find acquaintances and friends throughout our playtime and realize, particularly in social PvP play, we are unable to play with our own friends due to the division of faction.

Some of us simply do not have the time nor energy to completely, and fully rank another character just so we can play with our friends in PvP. You might even argue that a 'loophole' or alternative to this is to simply play BG's with them, and while that works, what if not everyone wanted to BG and play in Cyrodiil? On the other hand, some people might just tire of playing for EP/DC/AD, and felt like a change for their main.

At the very least, I am all for Alliance Change Tokens, provided there are conditions - which is only fair. It will prompt players to consider the decision very carefully before buying it. In the interests of those concerned about faction jumpers defecting to the 'FotM' faction as well as overall fairness, there should be a long-term 'cooldown' (i.e. 3-6 months) imposed upon the usage of Alliance Change Tokens, on top of it only being usable once per character. This will allow players since launch the chance to change their character's alliance to the faction where most of their friends are, or have a change of scenery as they wish.

options never hurt lol, more money for zos anyways cuz ik ppl like to change their minds when its already too late and would like to switch their toons over to their friends alliance so hell yeah
