Even tho' i love survival mode in other games like skyrim or fallout or ay other game with said mode, i think it wouldn't fit TESO because it is a MMO not a coop survival game

    Yes they should do this.
I wouldn't be against it as long as it was optional, I would probably keep it on and I enjoy extra challenges as long as it's not just babysitting bars.

THE CAVELRY HAS ARRIVED! Cav is a professional magblade, (in his not so professional opinion). He is immortal and is fighting for the Pact since 2E 572, amidst the turmoil of the Second Akaviri Invasion. He protects the provinces of Skyrim, Morrowind and Black Marsh.

Check out his PVP YouTube channel !

Which is, ultimately, the problem with the survival genre more often than not. You're just babysitting entropic decay. If you can get over that threshold, you're still just babysitting it, but you're doing so without any real threat.

    No thanks, that sounds terrible.

    Why its an optional system

Because it takes development resources away from other things.

Survival mode something like Warframe has? Yes, that would be fun in a group.

    ;)

Yeah, I would love a game that had a lot of realism. Survival gaming, where you would have to worry about food and drink, dressing right for the environment, a more involved disease system, and where you might actually try to avoid fights because the recovery would be more involved then just casting a heal of quaffing a potion...
    ...
    But that ain't ESO.
And the developers would not spend the development cost to refit it, since most people would not like that much realism in their fantasy gaming... remember, they are into this to make a profit, and noone here would pay money for a DLC that adds effort and possible aggrivation to their gaming!

That being said, I would love to see some -slight- features along those lines refitted into ESO. Slight as in, only adding flavor, but at a level that is more background then a clear and present danger...
    Like...

...taking slight cold damage and getting slowed in bleakrock, eastmarch and parts of wrothgar or the rift and other "very cold" regions if you remove your clothing. Or wear a "skimpy" costume. Or as limited-time DoT when you jump into the water, unless you stand by a fire to dry your clothes right away (you know which mechanic I am talking about, right?).

...having a culmulative stamina drain in alik'r and other "very hot" regions as the heat gets to you. it slowly adds up while in the sun, starting at lowering your stamine regen, then draining your stamina when it gets bad enough to exceed your regen, until you pass out from heatstroke if you stay in the sun too long (but it ought to be a slow buildup so... at least two hours realtime of sun-basking!), and it slowly goes down when in the shade or indoors... drinking or being around ice magic would also lower the debuff...

...a more involved disease system, not just as extra damage type, but as long-lasting (aka, days and weeks!) affliction, with many types that have different rates of DoT and debuff, some of which decrease over time until you get over it, and others that increase over time until you die or cure them, with special alchemy recipes for each disease (aka, make a "cure -illness- potion by combining two "restore health" ingredients with the one "disease-specific" ingredient; this would require new alchemy ingredients, which would be a good thing... eye of newt, enyone?).

...vampire improvements, including an "attack innocents when blood-starved" chance that -ignores- the "attack innocents" settings from the justice system altogether (since it would be an involuntary system), but balanced by more vampire features, including a "charm NPC" skill that allows feeding from townsfolk without them calling the guard, alchemically treated "blood viels" that allows storing blood for later feedings when you feed from a mon while "full", and more... and while we're at it, also giving vampires some "masquerade" skill that lowers their appearance level by one stage, and let the justice guards react to uncovered vampires and transformed werewolves... oh, but to balance, give them a senctuary of their own where they can be what they are without issues (and also get specific crafting stations or vendors). And also, reduce vampires swimming speed greatly to make then avoiud "running water", but let them have the "bloodfiend teleport attack" to avoid the NPC-envy...

...NPC reactions to your clothes. Namely... having some costumes give you non-combat boni or penalties... wear the "noble dress" get better prices at vendors as they hope to snatch a wealthy customer; wear the "monster polymorph" get attacked by the justice guards on sight, wear the "blacksmith outfit", get a bonus to your blacksmithing, etc.

Not that I expect any of that to ever happen. After all, not like they can monetize it, right? ;)

Well, the idea is cool at a first glance. But let's consider details...

When I have time I toggle walk mode, as running all day long is crazy. I use "eat" and "drink" emotes - I wish we had more varieties of them. When in wilds, I stop at existing camps to have some rest (once such a camp turned out to be a Worl Boss spawn place - that was fun...) My outfits match the climate and its peculiarities in every zone, I have a face mask to be protected from ashfall, I prefer to stay under some shelter during the rain... So, a survival mode sounds great for me. I wish I could face all the environmental dangers of Murkmire, Vvardenfell, Winterhold...

But let's consider how hard is it to create one? I guess it will take a lot of effort to put it right. And it can make a total mess for new players.

I don't think this will ever happen.

I was going to say, that the change to Vampires is nice, and they could use some additional "vampire feeding" management. But then I thought: "Damn, this game has enough things to worry about without survival elements"

    So, emphatically no.

Pretty much... this is my issue with Fallout and Skyrim survival modes. I never ran low on anything because it was so abundant.

The cold/hot aspect in Skyrim at least added some tactical thinking to the game.

Realism isn't my be all end all in games - it's really the last thing I care about. That's not to say that those that value it are wrong, just not my thing, especially if it's realistic for the sake of being realistic or "hard" for the sake of being hard.

It's just another system to micromanage and I would find it very boring.

MMO isn't a good place for such gameplay features, though in single player I always welcome such things if they are sensible. "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" and "Fallout: New Vegas" are good of what I means by word "sensible".
