Console gamers aren't typically committed long term to games (on an MMO time scale) like PC gamers are.

Very small.... um.... tiny.... town in the US desert southwest. As I said, less than 100 full time resident families. 80 mile round trip from real shopping. Cleanest air and water in the country. We built here 35 years ago, and love living here - husband doesn't care that we don't have "real" broadband. I do of course (he has NO CLUE about tech.... and refuses to GET a clue; if I die tomorrow he'll have to wait until daughter gets here to even find out the bank balance - then again I'm probably going to outlive him by 30+ years). So really, Mars probably isn't much worse.

Guild in game has been growing with new players joining. Always seems busy when playing.

But bring on the usual doom & gloom In which the forum excels!

I agree, there are plenty of new players. Over Christmas you could really notice it, new folks in guild text chats, starter areas more population. People worry about X game killing ESO or what X streamer leaving the game will mean etc. It's over thinking it.

Just play the game, enjoy it. All good things come to an end eventually sure but we can't control it and honestly pop is fine for everything wanna do. Dungeons pop in a few minutes as do BGs, starter areas are busy trader guilds are full. Pvp has enough players the zergs are unhealthy.

What I wish ESO is all the best, but if they won't improve performance to handle all these players, if they don't fix game breaking bugs like stuck in combat, this game will have much worse time.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

I'd say this, partly because I'm one of them.

    Let me be blunt.

ESO does not run on consoles anymore. It went downhill after Morrowind.

    Yeah it does?

Barely. Obviously I was exaggerating. If that has to be pointed out, well...

However as someone who has now played the game on both consoles and PC, let me assure you that the performance on console is, quite frankly, unacceptable.

Well if you search ESO contents on Youtube and compare the like and view number with WOW channels, you'd think ESO is a tiny little game ;)

It is inevitable that MMORPG lose the hype after few years and get into a stablized state, the fact we won all those best MMORPG rewards say nothing to worry about in near future

This comment does not make sense because compared to WoW it is a tiny game. While WoW is a behemoth, it is also a very old looking game. I think most that still play it have issues with playing more complex games like ESO. Heck, I know someone who's favorite game is FF and that is just as bad, if not worse.

I think this game may very well pick up in popularity. The game has had massive improvements to this game from launch and since a lot of people have not played the game since the rocky at best launch, hence why the game isn't larger, but keeping in mind current events with the current "king" of the MMO market it is currently losing players due to unpopular design choices that developers of the game seem determined to keep in whether the players like them or not, in addition to that entire company falling apart, we may very well see an increase of players for this game as people abandon that one and search for another. It seems likely people now searching for a new MMO and hearing rumblings that this game is much better than it was at launch may give it a chance and could easily end up loving it. This game or Final Fantasy may very likely end up taking the crown of "king" MMO years after they were predicted to but failed due to an awful launch.
The lack of a physical collector's edition probably has a lot more to do with Bethesda (also owned by Zenimax) being currently sued over the whole Fallout 76 canvas/nylon bag thing in that collector's edition than anything having to do with the current health of ESO...
Not so sure about that, they have since agreed to release the product as advertised (Albeit later than they were supposed to.) So I don't think there even would be a case anymore though it could quite possibly be related. The fact they are planning to just sell items that normally would come as a collector's edition physical bonus does indicate it isn't that the company can't afford to make a physical version. It could be this, it could be because the game industry is seemingly moving away from physical copies of games. Could be one of them just had a wacky idea the rest of the dev team just went along with for some reason. (I doubt it's this.)

It doesn't? I thought I played on Xbox last night. Well, they DO say LSD comes back to haunt you years later....

Upgrading to the Xbox One X made a huge difference for me, personally. I spend most of my time in Cyrodiil and experience a fraction of the lag that I did before. I used to regularly freeze and disconnect and now only rarely. I upgraded my TV at the same time to a new 4K one, which the game looks great on.

I switched from PC to PS4 when it came out for console. Never will switch back unless they cancel it for consoles. The game is better and more immersive on console in my opinion and I enjoy how it plays. Wonder if it will work on Ps5. If so maybe will get it on that. Hopefully we get to see Western Skyrim before it ever goes offline. Morrowind expansion was and is beautiful. With the right lighting/ graphics settings on your TV/PC it's the best or among the top 2 best looking zones in the game. Literally Morrowind is a game itself and I think buying ESO just for Morrowind is worth it :).

Agreed. Console is treated like garbage by the devs. They will not acknowledge the severe difference in performance, optimization, and over all quality between console and PC. I am slowly trying to level up a character on PC NA, because it seems to be the only platform that works properly. And as a pvp player I cant pvp on xbox. Vivec is unplayable and shor is dead half the time. Sotha sil is dead all the time, and under lv 50 is not an option.

I think zos should offer people, willing to BUY the game again, a transfer to PC NA. Ideally i would like to see them fix some things on console, but thats never going to happen.

Another thing they should do is let you link your account on PC and console. And then let your eso plus work account wide. Its sad that while leveling this character on PC I would have to pay for eso plus again, or live without the craft bag and extra space.. Plus I already would be losing 3+ years of god knows how much stuff, both earned and purchased, just to have it sit on xbox and do nothing. Sad.

i'm not worried about ESO. they've only been increasing player numbers. Reddit is super active, idk what you mean. It's actually nicer compared to here because this is where everyone goes to complain, whereas most people go to reddit to celebrate. thought i'd catch some interesting discussions here but...

anyways, I've seen a HUGE influx of noobs on pc. it's also partially because all those console players who are dropping the game are doing so to move to pc. I know 7 guildies personally who did that within the past 2 months alone, from one guild i'm a part of with 30 people. it's not uncommon at all.
