You know what, at first I was so glad ZOS was crushing gold selling and taking a heavy handed approach. I really found their spamming to be annoying.

Then I started to read the reports rolling in of innocent players being smashed in the cross-fire. Not just here, but on other social media sites also.

I realized that all of our reports have created a monster.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but now I feel regret for reporting gold-spammers, because I've fed a machine that is now just as likely to smash an innocent player as a legitimate offender.

Be careful of what you wish for.

Players should have taken it upon themselves to 1. Not Buy Gold, 2. Ignore the Gold Spammers. Nothing was needed to be done by Zenimax aside from publicly shaming those who actually did pay for gold and leveling services. I think Region Locking China and the Third world from US servers might help cut down on gold spam as well.

I'm 100.00% behind all of that

I just wish the system had a better appeal system for innocents

It's not your fault, yes they should be reported. However, it shouldn't be just an auto ban. It most likely works based off the amount of people that report it and having a bot decide the fate is rather messed up. In short, the account should be flagged and a gm or a member of support should review chat logs to make sure that the innocent aren't banned.

Do not regret this even though, many players may have been smashed you must realize in some instances of gold farming has become so lucrative on a global scale some reports of slavery have been reported in the business of gold selling.
Its my firm belief that, if some misunderstandings have come of this, it is acceptable, when this are a means to stop these real word activities are stopped by any means necessary. And any good heart gamer would agree.

For everyone else be aware your gold may come from this and you may have created a demand. And what that demand may have done.
An individuals freedom is not worth game time.

The obvious spammers are in zone chats and sending mails, with apparent immunity.

Prioritise the bugs and customers with account issues, knock down gold-spammers as they're reported and when the release issues have calmed, then begin testing the automated procedures for catching gold-farmers..

I really wish they did that with me... I got suspended for helping friends buying their horses.

I don't really see the need to buy gold in the first place, especially in ESO. There isn't a whole lot to spend it on and it comes really, really fast.

So.. to completely halt gold sellers.. you want them to be able to continue trading and selling gold while they are investigated?

I much prefer people getting locked down and investigated, halting all possible ways for gold sellers to thrive.

People who get caught in the cross fire, might actually be gold sellers trying to play the "im innocent"
Some might not be, and that's unfortunate.

There has been many gold selling groups in USA aswell as CHINA, the best botter programs from other mmo games were made in USA and sold in USA, so hiding behind the "china did it" won't work.

But really, i think this "gold trade lock-down" is for the best, those that were not breaking the TOS will be unbanned, and those that were will stay banned.
This is probably a new system they are working on to fight gold sellers, and you are all along to help.

Finally, Let ZOS handle it, stop whinging like little girls about spilled milk, when we all want gold sellers removed, let them do it.
And those of you who are banned, send in tickets and wait, stop feeding the trolls and acting all emo, asif yer big brother tore the head off yer barbie.

I think you would have a different opinion if YOU were wrongfully banned. Wanna switch place and see how you react?
