Checking Mail Request

Can we please be able to get our mail more than once per region. I don't see why I should have to travel to a different region to check my mail after I buy something from a trader.

Not sure if this should be here or in a different area but this is such a waste of time when buying stuff from traders.

You don't technically have to rezone. It will show up in 2 to 10 minutes, typically.

If someone sends you something and requests money it show up instantly not sure why it can't work like that when you buy something also. Just seems like an unnecessary process. Especially if you are buy a lot of furnishings or crafting motifs at once and you want to make sure you aren't buying duplicates. Or crafting a set of something and you need one more temp why should you have to wait 10 minutes to do that you're gonna travel to a different zone so you can get your stuff made.

The check is on a timer. If you rezone, it checks immediately, bypassing/resetting the timer.

You don't have to rezone or relog to get your mail, you just have to be a little more patient.

I understand it's on a timer (useless as that timer is).

I'm asking/requesting for the timer be overridden when I go into social -> mail so I can actually get my mail without waiting.

When I buy something from the crown store I don't have to wait 10 minutes to get it why should mail be any different.

It's already overriding the timer when someone request money so I'm not seeing what's the big deal if it's overridden when I go to get my new mail.

Just a thought maybe I'm asking for too much. Just sick of waiting in load screens or if I don't travel up to ten minutes to get a purchase.

COD doesn't affect it one way or the other.

It's not an option because people would spam the refresh, and this, in turn, would generate additional network traffic and server load.

Fast travel, login/logout happens frequently enough that it's a reasonable middle ground. Should you wish it faster, it's already known that you can do either of these to produce the desired results.

Since these also take a minimum of time, there's still an effective cooldown to prevent the above from happening and causing more server issue than necessary.

Most likely, they implemented guild purchases through mail so they can be verified and confirmed. It's an extra step, but you don't end up with some disconnect limbo where you produce payment without receiving product or vice versa. Combining purchases into a single mail would help, but is only a minor inconvenience.

It's done this way to provide a GCD for an otherwise background process.
