Why would a guild want a guild trader in the middle of nowhere?

They are the cheapest to get and many times have the best deals around.

I haven't checked many, but the ones I did didn't seem to have great prices, though I am despising the system in general, since it is really hard to figure out what is good and what is bad, at least on the PS4.

I still wondered why anyone would want this lonely locations though. That does make sense.

Like Juju_beans said, they are the cheapest to get and usually have deals. My social guild typically grabs one, and I also use a trading guild in Balmora. I find the Balmora one to be stocked nearly as well as the Mornhold cartel, but everything is a fraction of the price.

Those guild traders are usually close to a wayshrine, if not next to one.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I got a good chuckle out of that description.

FWIW those lonely traders at the way shrines....always stop to peruse their goods cause you never know if there's a good deal !! I always check for motifs I don't have and have found good deals from them.

That's because on PS4 no one seems to understand that those remote traders should be looked at as a supplier, not a retailer. The remote traders don't get a ton of traffic from players in general. The main buyers are flippers who want something at a decent price that they can resell and turn a decent profit in a prime location. But, it seems, everyone on PS4 thinks they can get top dollar for their stack of potatoes no matter where it's listed.

This is all just conjecture, and only my opinion of course. I used to visit remote traders first, before any others, looking for good prices. But after years of seeing equal, or oftentimes, higher prices then prime locations I stopped even checking. Why would I go through the trouble and likely not find what I'm looking for in the first place?

they are great if you use the ttc website. lowest prices and near a wayshrine. I usually find and buy other things after I get what I went there for.

I have been looking for a couple of Briarhart rings and the ones I have seem are 30k to 235k I kid you not. There doesn't seem to be any kind of block on overpricing anything. That's why the game needs a real world AH.

I find the best stuff listed in middle of nowhere traders when I’m doing random farming. Most notably I found two Morag Tong motifs I needed for 30g each as I was passing through Hoarfrost Downs

It is not that a guild wants those locations. It is just the location they can afford.

Have you considered farming chests in Wrothgar?

RNG is not my friend in any game. Nothing ever found so far.

Then keep farming. It’s freely available. Traders have these available and you pay for the convenience of not dealing with RNG yourself

Two guilds I am in get traders kind of off the beaten path. One has been getting a trader fairly consistent in a thieves den and the other grabs what is available near a wayshrine. Both are great for unloading low to mid range priced items. I can sell jewelry for decon really quick at these traders. I am in a trading guild that always gets one of the top spots. That guild I use for my high priced items. Some mid priced items I might list in the trading guild and one of the other traders. I price the items at the trading guild kiosk higher than I do at the other places because I know there is more traffic.

When I am out farming for materials I make it a point to buy one item at each out of the way trader I happen across to offer a bit of support. Sometimes the item is a bargain sometimes not.

Guilds try to get those out of the way spots because they can't compete with the guilds that are centered around trading for the prime spots. Those off the beaten path spots do generate some nice income though especially if the same guild gets them a few weeks in a row and keeps them stocked.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
