No wars, Shick and Kirkbride are friends, and the latter was very protective over Lawrence when there was some people ready to shite all over his work for ESO. I would say violently protective. And I'm gratefull for that, because I love loremaster's work for ESO.

It's more about people not being able to see that there is a lot more than just them in this fandom, a lot of views. Which is every fandom situation. But these elitists just happen to be kirkbridians most of the time. I know a couple of nice kirkbridians, but the whole situation is not worth the storm that will come.

Khajiit was thinking more of a war between the Kirkbrideians and the Schickists rather than the two gods themselves. Like the time, long ago, when the Konkists and the Konkites disagreed on important scriptural issues of some kind and thus caused the Konk himself to disappear …

Really sad. But I'm amused that he spent his whole farewell basically repeating what I just said in this thread.

In the "leak" this thread was about, he's just following a family member because of their job opportunities. Don't think anything else needs to be said, he's fine.

I'm really frustrated now... Lawrence is a great Loremaster, I'll be missing him...

Reverse/ZOS got it right actually, the very reason why Black Marsh remains unconquered through lore is because the local creepy-micro-crawlies essentially gut any species not immune to them while Valenwood was almost emptied of life TWICE by the ES equivalents of the common cold and hepatitis. Tho technically most "true" argonians/ones that arent other species that were super weak to poisons due to biology then force evolved by the Hist trees should have both.

The End Of An Era

Not good. I don't know the impact this will have on the ESO lore, but i was a WoW player when Metzen left Blizzard, and the lore turned into a complete joke shortly after. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to ESO.

I'm really sad to see @ZOS_Lawrence_Schick leave... He's awesome, and I will fight anyone who disagrees!

It's also the thing that most of the people who are quick to shout "lore-breaking!" don't understand. There are so many people who read something in an in-game source and take it as an absolute fact, without any understanding of the concept of the unreliable narrator. In-game sources don't have omniscient knowledge about Tamriel. They can get things wrong, just like real-world sources can. They also colour things with their own biases (intentionally or unintentionally), just like real-world sources do. The only things that are truly written in stone are things that we have actually witnessed in an Elder Scrolls game (and even then it's not always certain because of the concept of Dragon Breaks, but that's another story). Anything that's only mentioned in in-universe books, or stories told to us by NPCs is uncertain to one degree or another. If it's corroborated by multiple sources, then it's highly likely to be true. If it's not (or if sources contradict each other as they often do), then it's much more uncertain.

His Farewell Letter was unusually good. I now feel that I wasn't quite appreciative enough of his work in ESO. Though I do admit that he looks pretty much like Uncle Sheo on retirement (in a good and mischievous sense). And well, the ingame lore was as good, as in original series, maybe even better. And that means something, because lore in TES games was on some different level from other games.

Well, my only hope that the lore part for Elsweyr is mostly finished, because it was the only place in Tamriel that I wanted to see for more than 15 years
